The Tevez effect

Filed under: Fantasy Football Team Selection - Posted by: Mark

TevezSo it seems Tevez is edging closer to joining United. According to reports, Carlos has already agreed personal terms with United and although there are streams of red tape to wade through, a deal looks inevitable.

What does this mean for Fantasy Football Managers? Well Tevez will soar up many a shortlist. With the Telegraph already underway and Tevez valued at just 6.1 million you an expect his stock in that game to rocket. However, if he does sign for United what will that do to Rooney’s popularity? Surely his arrival will mean Ferguson will be handed the luxury to rotate and rest Rooney more often than ever? Suddenly with Henry gone, this doubt hanging over Rooney and the likes of Berbatov, Bent, Kuyt and Torres facing regular rotation, you look and see Mr Drogba proudly polishing his Premiership golden boot and you wonder – he might be off to the African Nations in the New Year, but until then, is there a more sensible striking option?
