Drogba returns to cheer Chelsea
Avram Grant has been handed a massive boost prior to his first game in front of the Stamford Bridge crowd with the news that Didier Drogba is fit for selection. Grant announced earlier today that Drogba had overcome his recent injury concerns and that “probably Didier will be back”. He’s almost certain to come straight back into the side to partner Shevchenko as Grant opts for a 4-4-2. Drogba also comes straight back into my shortlist for the weekend games - although the likes the Adebayor, Van Persie and Anelka still look stronger bets to get among the points given Chelsea’s current form.
Grant went on to confirm that both Lampard and Carvalho were also near returns. Both could figure in Chelsea’s Champions League tie in midweek but seem more likely to come into contention for Chelsea’s visit to Bolton next weekend.

Does anyone know how close Tim Cahill is to a return to full fitness and how soon he is likely to fit into the Everton squad?

Essien is a doubt?!?

I’ve not heard anything about essien being a doubt so i think our safe. Any ideas on a capt for this week, got Reina, garrido, a cole, evra, clichy, elano, fabregas, scholes, v.persie, kanu, torres as my team this week.
Was thinking the reliable mr Fab, but they have a bad record against the hammers and i’m not sure if one of my defenders would be a better choice?

Can’t see past Fabregas as captain, really. Looking at your team, maybe Reina could get 7, so 14 from a captain is good. I still think at worst Fabregas will get 4pts (so 8). Reina could end up with 2. Depends how safe you wanna play it.
