Terry suffers cheekbone fracture
Chelsea’s frustration from today’s stalemate with Fulham was compounded by an injury to skipper John Terry. Terry was taken off at half-time with a depressed fracture of the cheekbone. Chelsea have since announced that Terry will be operated on later tonight and have yet to issue a statement on a term of absence.
There is a chance that Terry will have a plate fitted into his cheekbone which will allow him to continue training. However he’s set to miss Chelsea’s Champions League tie with Valencia in midweek. He’ll also be a major concern for McClaren of course with England set to play Estonia and Russia in October.
Ben-Haim and Alex are set to form a makeshift central defensive partnership against Valencia and may well be called into action in Chelsea’s next few Premiership games at Bolton next weekend and at Boro on October 20.

cant believe i took out rvp and anelka this week, and in stalled drogba - as captain! how many games is he banned for?

Ben Haim looks awful. That Drogba kick (although I think unintentional) looked really bad at the time. My hat’s off to Fulham and their “total futbol…light.”
No, they couldn’t finish and yes they were tested and bent, but they don’t give up and they seem to play for one another and they’re not intimidated.

Does anyone know if there was any physical problem with Schmeichel or Eriksson just decided to go with Hart until Isaksson is fit?

Reports suggests that Sven just kept Hart in after his start in the Carling Cup. Isaksson now looks likely to start next weekend if fit although you just never know. Schmeichel does however look to have moved down the pecking order - he was always a risk though.

Billy, only 1 game ban for Drogba, 2 yellow cards = 1 game
