City sweating on Petrov injury
There are major concerns surrounding the fitness of City’s Martin Petrov after the winger suffered a blow to his ankle during a friendly for Bulgaria. Petrov felt the full force of a tackle from a Brazilian defender and was immediately carted off to hospital. It is suggested that he may have suffered a dislocation and/or ligament damage on his left ankle, news that could result in a lengthy absence.
City and Fantasy Managers everywhere will be nervously awaiting the results of a scan which we can expect in the next 24-hours. Petrov has been a massive hit in the City side and in Fantasy terms so far this season and many managers have bought in the midfielder over recent weeks following his early season form.

Bulgarian national football team selectionist Dimiter Penev stated that Martin Petrov will play for 100% in the future Euro qualification with Albania that will take place in Tirane on Wednesday, October 17 from 21.45h.
We lost the most important household match against Albania, shared Penev.
We are obligated to play at maximum every game, so we can compensate what we lost, Penev added.
There are three matches left that we must win. I rely to Martin Petrov in the game on Wednesday. Martin wants to play and I got the permission of his doctor Misho Iliev, stated the nationals’ coach.

What are people’s views on Robbie Keane? To me it seems he is one of the most over looked players. He always plays for Tottenham (who are destined to hit some good form in the coming weeks), and is Mr Consistent. In the TFF he’s already picked up 50 pts, just behind Van Persie. For the money, 6m, he seems a great buy

Hope Petrov is okay, i’ve just transfered him in!
Im also considering robbie Keane, I.m playing the suns dreamteam game, so cant make any changes after this week until the end of jan.
Trying to decide between Adebayor and Keane (to replace Darren Bent). I know Adebayor has done well this season, but Keane has played well recently too. Any advice welcome…

I’m putting Keane in, every year I want to put him in, but for some reason always go for someone else. Truth is, he ain’t top scorer material, but if you have a solid team and want a player who is going to guarantee you goals, and a steady flow of points then go for him. Other than Van Persie, I can’t see any other players in his price range that I’d rather go for.
Santa Cruz - Injured
Yakubu - African Nations coming up
Anelka - Good but Bolton will struggle
Martins - Only good in patches/lacks consistency
Tevez - Yet to make a real impact at Utd
Ashton - Injured
Rooney and Torres are ideal, but too expensive

Any more news on Martin Petrov? I seem to be finding mixed reports. Even if he does play for Bulgaria is he likely to be rested by Man City?

Wow. I had just transferred in Petrov and Santa Cruz prior to injuries. The fantasy curse strikes again! Im now taking injury requests…

Is he going to be rested? I’ll substitute Bentley in if hes not playing

It was Stilian Petrov who played not Martin Petrov - he wasn’t even on the bench according to ESPN.
However, Ericksson said he spoke to Petrov and he said he did not know where the injury rumours came from and is fit.

Martin Petrov played the full 90 last night and set up the Bulgaria goal.

Chris, you should know ESPN only knows stuff about football if it the kind where they throw the ball and wear pads. Skysports reports,
“The same cannot be said of Bulgaria, who went into their game at Albania in desperate need of a win as they looked to make up the ground on the top two.
But, despite fielding a star-studded line-up including Dimitar Berbatov, Martin Petrov and Stiliyan Petrov, they spent the majority of the game behind after an own goal from Leicester defender Radostin Kishishev in the 32nd minute.”
I think I would trust SkySports more than ESPN.
