Anelka makes Bolton return

Nicolas Anelka is fit and will return to the Bolton lineup to face Braga in tomorrow night’s UEFA cup tie. Anelka missed Bolton’s trip to the Emirates with an injury picked up whilst on International duty with France. He has however, trained earlier this week and is expected to start on Thursday. He’s therefore likely to lineup against Villa at the weekend.

  1. G’day Mark,
Any news on Arbeloa from Liverpool? Just keen to know why he didn’t make the squad for the Everton game nor the Champions League game? By the way, this is a great site for us Aussies, as its bloody hard to get much info on team selections for our dream teams, especially with the time difference! Keep up the good work.
    Cheers,
    Johnny

  2. Just confirming what Johnny said above. Living in Australia, we don’t get the football coverage you do!. This site provides us with insight into what is going on. Fantastic job mate.

  3. Arbeloa was out injured for both games…think with a thigh strain, not sure though

Haven’t heard if he will be out of the weekends games. Hopefully he will be as a lot of the teams in my league have him :D

  4. Hey Mark,

I’m another Aussie wishing to thank you for your hard work! We have to check all the results in the morning and can only watch games if we have the luxury of cable television! Thanks again mate

  6. Any advice?? I am toying with idea of swapping Ronaldo for Lampard. I had him at beginning of season and he did well until injury. I reckon he is coming back into form and after Ronny’s 3/4 minutes last week and only 1 point, i am sure Fergie will rotate him more often than Lampard will get rotated. Great site and I am not in Aus. Just as big in Machester

  8. do you think its time to change adebayor’s form rating down from “A” given he hasnt scored in a while and didnt manage to get any of the 7 goals put past Slavia Prague midweek?

conversely, is it also time to move rooney’s form up to “A” given his form for England and Man U in all competitions at the mo?

    what do you think?

  9. Ok beleive it or not I am very happy with the team I have on fantasy premier league [mainly due to this great site as well as my own skill :) ha]
    for the record its
    1: Howard
    2: Bouma
    3: Ferdinand (C)
    4: Evra
    5: Dempsey
    6: Bentley
    7: Elano
    8: Fabregas
    9: Berbatov
    10: Adebayor
    11: Santa Cruz
    12: Reina
    13: Scharner
    14: Petrov
    15: Richards
I made the mistake of bringing in berbatov last week for van p and puuting cruz on bench thought he was injured. My question to all of you is do you think I should keep berbatov (he was on bench last game) should I get walcott (hes on fire). Help what should I do? spurs have a nice easy run but whats the point if berb does not start or goes into a sulk? any advice much appreciated.

  10. THE TIMES are reporting that Martin Jol has agreed terms to leave Tottenham Hotspur.
It is suggested that the game against Getafe on Thursday evening is to be Jol’s last in charge and Clive Allen is expected to take charge for the visit of Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.
Considering above, he may stop sulking and start playing.
Looked at your team and you have room for another Man U. I am sure Tevez will be a good exchange for Berbatov if you fancy getting rid and he will get you points this weekend.

  11. Hi gormdubhgorm, you are right your team does look fine! As for your dilemma Keane is a good option for the Berbatov trade. Also look out for Agbonlahor who has been a consistent points-score of late..(he also has a double gameweek in gwk 14) perhaps Bellamy may also hit form given the Hammer’s decent run of games. Lastly, McCarthy seems in good form; see how he goes against spurs..The problem with Walcott is despite his form, he is never assured regular game-time in the long-term. In saying that he may be a suitable option. Bear in mind however, that players who are also in form but start regularly are Santa Cruz and Benjani; both of a similar price.

  12. Yeah thanks Arul I didnt think of Bellamy. My normal tactic is to look 3 or 4 games ahead so I can alternate depending on fixtures
