Back with weekend team news!
Yep, I’m back in action and have updated the Injury table and made a first pass over the team news for the weekend games here. Sorry for the spell of absence, ridiculously busy at work right now but things should settle down once this week is out of the way and over Christmas. Many thanks for the continued support and all the posters that have been active while I’ve been away.
I’ll be making updates to the team news from now and until kick-off and the Suspension Tightrope, my Shortlists and Scout Picks will be updated later today.

*cheers*

Oh I dunno, I was quite enjoying a bit of anarchy amongst the footsoldiers.

I’d just recently discovered this site and had the feeling of getting in on something just as it died! Glad thats not the case.
been playing the yahoo game for a coupla years now and doing not too bad this year.
what do people make of this weekend then? bit of a killer with the big sunday games. what are you guys doing? ditching all your Top 4 players coz the games are too unpredictable or fancying your chacnes of predicting how they’ll go?
for the record i’m sticking with my man utd players but steering well clear of arse v chelski.

Mark,
Welcome back. You’ve been missed!
It’s as simple as that.

Welcome back, Mark
Don’t worry we’ve been chatting amongst ourselves.
Superb site!

Thought you’d gone native on us.
Glad that’s not the case, especially in your neck of the woods.
Welcome back.

I am going slowly insane with Fabregas on my bench… one of those decisions I made and cannot now go back on.
(If I sell I cannot afford to buy back)
Please tell me I am not alone…

Nice to see you back, Mark. Any thoughts on the forum idea that’s been bandied about recently, or does that seem too much like hard work?

Don’t worry Jim, I’ve had Ab Fab chilling out on my bench too. Although this week I’ve got him starting just in case he makes it in time, and if he doesn’t then my sub will just come on.
It’s a tough one with the big 4 all playing each other. I have Sagna, R.Ferdinand, Belletti, Fabregas, Gerrard, Ronaldo, and Adebayor in my squad.
In the line-up:
Sagna - Arsenal will probably concede, but Sagna has a good chance of creating another assist
R. Ferdinand - always the slim chance of a goal from Rio and if Man U managed to not concede (which i don’t think will happen), then he’s bound to be among the bonus points
Fabregas - just incase he plays, it’s the sort of game he’d get all 3 bonus points in
Gerrard - can’t leave him out with his form, and could well get a penalty in such a tense game
Ronaldo - again, not the sort of player you can leave out. If United do score, he’s most likely going to be involved in it
Adebayor - the big man seems to pull something special out of the bag in these big games
Benched:
Belletti - Chelsea WILL concede (when was the last time Arsenal failed to score, especially at home??)
So personally, I’m leaving in most of my big 4 players, despite the unpredictability of these games. Speaking of unpredictability, I might as well have a go at predicting them… so here they are:
Arsenal 2 - 1 Chelsea
Liverpool 2 - 2 Man Utd

I’ll go for:
Reds 0-0 Scum
Arse 1-1 Chel
Which, if it happens, wouldn’t exactly be great for my Gerrard/Ronaldo/Evra/Eboue combo.
Step up to the plate, Capt Bentley, if you will. Please.

Jim-you are not alone mate

When does the African Cup start? Need to start losing some African players!

Ditching Toure this week to make room for Fabs next week.
Only prob is who for? It’s between 3 now (in that price range): Distin, Johnson and Brown.
Distin rakes up the boni, whereas Johnson is more likely to get assists and Brown could get more clean sheets (considering Pompey’s next fixtures).
WHO???

hey welcome back
i am having difficulty in chosing the captain for the upcoming blocbuster sunday
is steven gerrard a good choice??
[Reply]
I think so, I’ve got Stevie G as my captain too

Will Martins be a regular for the Magpies once Owen returns from injury (most likely next week), or will they deploy Owen Smith and Viduka upfront?
I was thinking of getting Martins because of his easy run of games in the next few weeks but don’t know what will happen if Owen comes back.

First of all, Mark, welcome back!!!
You already have a 200+-comment-thread there. Proof of how all of us need you
It would be nice to have an on-topic thread.
And with this “weekend team news” people can discuss who to transfer in/out and who should be the captain for the week (i think this is the most important question, most of the table toppers got that captain right most of the time).
Keep up the good work, Mark

So who would make the best captain for the Christmas week fixtures ? (Out of Green, Lescot, Distin, Laursen, Ferdinand, Ronaldo, Bentley, Fabregas, Lampard ? (Double points for captain in Premier League fantasy footie.)
