Weekend Team News
Gallas is fit. Knight serves suspension as his appeal fails. Larsson a doubt for Birmingham. Hyypia nursing an ankle injury with Agger lined up for a return. Wheater has the lurgy. The team news section is has been updated with all the early speculation on injuries and potential lineups. I’ll have another pass over this this evening and will update this up until kick-off so keep popping back for updates. Scout Picks to follow soon…

Will you do the scout picks as well tonight Mark?

Should I use Bouma?
Considering Bentley, I think he will get som points in the “fourthcoming fixtures”

Berbatov or Ronaldo

I would choose Benjani or Berbatov.

I can’t to see his team

I can’t wait to see his team:D

I put in David James nd Bently and took out tomas rosicky and Pepe Reina took a 4 point hit .
Who should i have captain, Betley ? Berbatov ? or Keane ??

Berbatov, 2 assists and 3 bonus last match!

All:
Need to shore up my defense by dropping Gerrard or Fabregas and signing a better keeper.
Suggestions on which to drop considering upcoming fixtures?
Thoughts on a good budget keeper?
FYI, I play Yahoo, so the decision can be based on relatively short-tern considerations (i.e., the next two fixtures).
Cheers,

For points Keane is just as good as Berbatov.
I prefer Keane coz he also takes penalties.
@TheNecromancer
I’d keep Gerrard.
Goal Keepers:
James (portsmouth) Based on next 5 Fix
Jaaskelainen (bolton) Based on next 2 Fix
I’d go for James if you can afford him.

@Barefoot:
Thanks for your thoughts. Why Gerrard rather than Fab in your mind? I tend to agree with your suggestion since Fab looked absolutely gassed & ineffective v Pompey.
Am I incorrect, or did SkySports report that Jaask is out with injury?

Apart from what I consider a slightly easier next three games for Liverpool.
The longterm who to keep view..
Gerrard raises his game and forces a win or a no loss even when the chips are down, no matter the team. He takes everything, corners, freekicks, penalties. He’s been a match winner for seasons. Fabregas has just started adding this to his arsenal (forgive the pun) and i’m not sure if he’s wholly mentally adapted to this responsibility to keep consistency and find the reserves in the face of difficulty like Gerrard often has.
If I had to, I’d choose the world class man over the world class boy. Although I’d rather have them both
As for Jaasks i’ve just Googled and see what mean… he is a doubt..

@ Barefoot
Good points all, only remaining critical question is that of the Rafa-factor.
What are the chances of Gerrard being rested for either of the two upcoming matches? Less of more likely than Fab being rested?
Obviously, both clubs need to keep wining to keep the pace.
Thanks

Hi guys/gals
Thoughts on my squad anyone….Any suggested improvements?? It reads as follows
GK - James, Hart
DEF - Laursen, Lescott, Brown, Hreidarrsson, Jaidi
MID - Gerrard, Ronaldo, Cahill, Fabregas, Larsson
CF - Anelka, Ashton, Benjani
I play the PL game and currently 2nd in my league…Just beginning to claw back the leader after he managed to captain fab early in the season and jumped 80 points ahead….Currently my thoughts are to have 3 very cheap subs who are regulars and will earn you points if needed and i’ve loaded up in midfield…I’m convinced Ashton will bounce back to form when hes had a few more games under his belt and his price will soar again…He’s too good a player not to..Not sure about Anelka though - tempted to swap him for RVP or Berbatov/Keane…I think “Slim” Jaidi is a bargain at 3.8M and is an ideal squad player now he’s back in the team….He’ll notch the odd goal from a set piece (hopefully when called up to the first team!!) and Birmingham may keep a clean sheet from time to time…Taylor at Wigan is another option…What does anyone think about the James v Green keeper battle??? Portsmouth a more solid unit but Green seems to be loved by those who hand out the bonus points…Decisions, decisions…I guess thats what makes the game so interesting…My thoughts for captaincy this weekend its boring but it has to be the goofy one at west ham…Next week Anelka!!!

Berbatov or Ronaldo as captain.
Forwards: Anelka, Berbatov, Tevez - cheapy Forssell or Bent
Mid: Ronaldo, Bentley, Petrov - cheapy Pienaar
Def & GK: Pompey
Hart - Man City - is a good cheap keeper (at home at least).
Mark, good to see you are winning your own FL!
