McFadden set for St Andrews

Birmingham have agreed a undisclosed fee with Everton for James McFadden . The Scot is now discussing personal terms with the club and McCleish looks likely to seal his second signing of the transfer window after grabbing David Murphy from Hibs.

If a deal can be agreed, McFadden would seem set to go straight into the side to face Chelsea at the weekend.

From a fantasy managers point of view, this could be an interesting development. McFadden is classed as a midfielder in certain games and as such would appear to offer good value with McCleish likely to employ him up front or just off a striker.

Even when classified as a forward, a guaranteed run of games until the end of the season could see the him provide some decent short-term points potential, depending on Birmingham’s fixtures. Straight away, they are about to enter a run of four home games from the next six matches with Chelsea, Derby Arsenal and Spurs visiting St Andrews.

  1. I still don’t know who to change in my team, I still think my defenders are the weakest positions.
Thinking of changing James because I don’t want to take anyone else out?
    James, Hart
Lescott, Mellberg, Campbell, Onuoha (might not play), R.Taylor (injured?)
    Gerrard, Fabregas, Bentley, Cahill, M.Petrov
    Torres, Berbatov, M.Bent

    (NO MAN U PLAYERS!)

  2. @Ollie

Perhaps Cahill after the Wigan game, for Barry? Or upgrade Bent to Young?

  3. Also my current team:

    James Hart
    Sagna Vidic Hyypia Baines McShane
    Ronaldo Fabregas Gerrard Cahill Larrson
    Adebayor M.Bent Forssell

I’m planning on changing Cahill for Barry/Petrov or Bentley. Adebayor for Tevez/Anelka or Berbatov depending on form & fixtures. Eventually G.Neville for Vidic, freeing up lots to upgrade 5th Midfielder or second striker.

Any other ideas would be appreciated,

    Rob

McFadden yet to be switched to Birmingham though.

  5. Fulham will be siging Marlon King from Watford apparently- he’s scored 11 goals in the championship this season so he might be a good cheap option up front..

Of course, he’ll probably be crap.
