Lampard Verdict Tomorrow
We’ll know tomorrow whether Frank Lampard’s red card earned against West Ham at the weekend, will stand and leave the midfield with a 3-match ban.
Chelsea have confirmed that an appeal for wrongful dismissal has been lodged and that the FA will meet tomorrow to decide whether to uphold the card and ban. Lampard is set to miss three matches if that is the case, including the FA Cup tie with Barnsley and the potentially big scoring games Premiership fixtures against Derby and Sunderland.
It will be interesting to see the result of this one. Previous experience tells us that Lampard’s ban is likely to stand and there’s even a chance that it could be extended to four games for a “frivolous” appeal on Chelsea’s part. That was the case with Boro’s recent appeal for Aliadiere’s sending off at Liverpool. For me, Lampard clearly struck out whilst entangled on the ground before standing to shove Boa Morte to the ground. It seems more likely that Boa Morte will receive a red rather than Lampard’s have his rescinded. We’ll have to wait and see.
Lampard’s absence is likely to see Ballack handed a run of games in Chelsea’s midfield which will interest fantasy managers with the double gameweek looming.

i have gerrard, defoe, young and bently.

Well it would but unless the guy who wrote that has a time machine or works at the FA and is happy to put his neck on the line, then it’s not true.
The FA are meeting on Tuesday to watch a few videos, drink some tea - then hand Lampard another match ban to make it four before going home to sleep soundly. Or it will be rescinded.

Urm…won’t he just miss one double gameweek match? He should be back for the Spurs game. The Derby game is right before the double…

Good point Alex…Chelsea’s fixtures are confusing me. I’ll change it now then change it back when the FA dish out an extra match for him

Chelsea as a whole are confusing me actually..
Here I am stuck with Belletti, who may or may not play in any/some/all of the upcoming fixtures…
Ballack seems the best option of Lamps suspension is upheld, but will he play all 3? Especially as Lamps will be back for the second match of the double.
My head is spinning.

I really cannot see it being rescinded!

Does anyone think Pienaar is worth a punt? Everton have nice fixtures and Carsley is out. Will he play Mark?

He’s played every game since he returned to fitness and he sparkled on Sunday. Moyes has him on the left and his only real rivals for that position are Neville, Baines and maybe Fernandes if wants to play him wide. I would say Pienaar will play 90% of Everton’s remaining games and as I’ve mentioned in the scout notes, he’s a real bargain.

Yeah he is an incredible bargain if he plays! 4.5m in FPL.
I think I will just buy him and hope he can continue his form. He was awsome at the weekend!

I’m thinking of putting drogba into my side this week, has anyone heard any news about the liklihood of him starting?

Hi anybody know why Belletti is not being selected?

Because Grant is the new Benitez.
He might play the next match, he might not. Isn’t it exciting?!?

I think Torres will play the west ham game but agree he will be rested sat!!

Card overturned. No suspension. Not sure how the midfield will line up for next few games then really …

Damn it. I knew I shouldn’t have immediately jumped on the Ballack bandwagon.

So what is the thinking now, if you didn’t yet get Ballack already and don’t have Lampard, or any Chelsea defenders?
Buying into Chelsea seems a right mess. Ballack might be on the bench now along with any of the possible defenders except the over priced Terry!
Any thoughts on a Chelsea defender and midfielder for the double game week who might actually play?

I think Lampard and Carvalho are your best bets.
