Wigan to Contest Koumas Red
Steve Bruce has announced his intention to contest the red card awarded to Jason Koumas in today’s game against Bolton. Koumas saw red after just 4-minutes for a tackle on Bolton’s Cahill and will now face a three-match ban. However, today’s referee, Steve Tanner, has already agreed to view footage of the challenge as Wigan seek to get it overturned.
That’s significant for fantasy managers because the absence of Koumas could bring Ryan Taylor back into the lineup. Should Taylor get the nod over Kilbane he would be a very decent proposition. He is classed as a defender, and a cheap one at that, but is employed on the left of midfield by Bruce. He will hog Wigan’s set-pieces and with the side on a run of 5 clean sheets in 6, he would represent excellent value.
Any appeal by Wigan would jeopardise the chances of Taylor regaining his place however, so we await news on that one.

Got an email from a friend of a friend who told me to click on the link below which claims that the Champions League draw was already decided before they stuck their mits into the goldfish bowls.. Interesting reading.

I have been doing some snooping in Liverpool where all this started and I also got a nice car stereo and a 50inch widescreen tv for £150 while I was there
According to a friend of a friend this poster is always making predictions - 3,000 in the last year. He’s bound to be right once There were only 28 combinations for the quarter final, so odds of 27:1 and he may of finally got one right.

The odds were 104-1, according to a few websites. Hope those nasty bookies didn’t try and pull the wool over your eyes when paying out on Denman…

They paid up but I felt a little sorry for them and gave them some back on Saturday.
Yeah were offering 104-1 but then some bookies say they never take bets on predicting who will play who.
I predicted back in August that Rochdale AFC would not reach the FA Cup 4th round and William Hill would not accept that bet either. Bookies eh

Anyone know why Carvalho didn’t play on Saturday? Could have done with those points..

Emergency bling shopping expedition with Rio, perhaps.

Just a rest I think Alan, although he is also sitting on 8 bookings so Grant may want to keep this in check prior to the big games coming up.

IMO you should hold onto Rio mate. It was a minor back tweak on Sat by all accounts so he will still get you those extra points on the run in

If Koumas’s red is rescinded I’ll go to the foot of our stairs. And I live in a bungalow.

Mark,
Two queries, what is going on with Tevez injured or rested? Is Arsenals goal on Saturday staying with Toure clearly went in off Flamini?
Great site, would be lost without it!

The Tevez situation is a worry. It appears he’s like Keane at Spurs in that the boss feels the team can win without him. The fact that Ferguson doesn’t have to rely on Saha to replace him makes it worse, at least with Saha’s fitness there was always a chance the Ferguson wouldn’t have that option but he pushed Ronaldo up against Derby, despite saying he wanted to keep him wide. Both Tevez and Adebayor are touch and go then - I notice both are being shipped out by a lot of FPL managers this week.
As for the Toure goal - I’m pretty sure it will remain with Toure. IMO Flamini didn’t get a touch but, it looked like a Boro defender.

I might be making a big mistake but I’m keeping Tevez in my team. Alex Ferguson was annoyed that Man Utd could not take their chances vs Derby (when Tevez was absent) so surely he’ll bring him back for Bolton. I think, that with 3 home games coming up, Ferguson senses a chance to put real pressure on Arsenal so hopefully he’ll play a first-choice line up which means Rooney and Tevez up front.
I wish I had 2 days to decide whether to edit this comment, instead of the 30 minutes Mark allows, as I will look stupid if United kick off against Bolton on Wednesday and don’t pick Tevez!
