Fabregas On The Edge
Amongst the drama of Arsenal’s comeback yesterday, Cesc Fabregas picked up his ninth booking of the season. That leaves him just one caution away from a two-match ban. In order to avoid that, Fabregas must get through next weekend’s game with Liverpool and the visit to Old Trafford a week after, without a yellow. The suspension curfew for ten bookings passes on the second Sunday in April, the day that Wenger takes his side to take on United.
Fabregas owners will be twitchy then. Admittedly, his stock has fallen with the rise of Gerrard and Lampard in recent weeks. However, the Arsenal man has steadily contributed assists with another pair in yesterday’s game. He’s also regained his position as FPL bonus darling - he has scored bonus in his last three matches having suffered a lean spell during Flamini and Hleb’s run of form. The temptation is to get rid but there’s no doubt that Fabregas is showing a glimmer of his early season form and even though his fixtures look tough - he has a proven record of producing the goods in big games. Tough one.

I see Fabregas is being credited with 2 assists. Campo headed on the corner he took for goal 1, and the own goal hit 2 Bolton players from Fabregas, surely this means no assists directly from Fabregas?
He had an assist earlier in the season after a Man City player played the ball back to Hleb - it appears he really is the darling of the Premier League!
You can tell from my sour comments, I haven’t got him in my team!

Who should I keep?
Jagielka or Lescott

Worth keeping in mind - Everton play Derby next week!

jagielka, alot cheaper and only a goal or two separates them but you will earn them points back by buying a better midfielder or attacker, or even a defender

I’ll keep them for this week then. Just thought it was time for some Newcastle players

Considering transfering Tevez out and bringing Yakubu in. Smart? I need to gamble and hit big points… comments please

i would say defoe if your looking to gain points if your opponents haven’t got him, or even ashton for future weeks when they have decent fixtures.

after a disaster last week where i took out carvalho and replaced him with Terry then proceeded in making Berbatov captain instead of Ronaldo (thought he might be rested) i have made some whole sale changes..
Players in:
Yakubu
Defoe
Febregas (regreting this already)
Players out:
Berbatov
Kalou
Bentley
Am i a mug?

no, 2 of them are good , fabregas and defoe, but transfering berbatov out could be a mistake

I agree with Sam. I wouldn’t get rid of Berbatov given the fixtures Spurs have remaining. As Mark made reference to in the weekend notes,Bernatov was playing deeper than normal on Sunday as Ramos tried to accomodate Bent aswell. It was a poor move.I doubt it will happen again to be honest meaning he should be returned to his usual,goal-scoring,assisst-grabbing,hair-stroking position.
