A Couple of Polls

No, not a typo in a news story on some last minute signings by Harry Redknapp, instead two brand new polls for the site over in the left-hand menu.

For starters I’ve added one to canvas opinion on what’s likely to be a deciding factor over the rest of the fantasy season - just which striker will perform best. It’s funny, when you take Ronaldo out of all fantasy football equations, there’s suddenly a far more difficult decision to be made. When it comes to finding that goal machine for the last six games there’s actually more than a few reasonable candidates. It will be interesting to see how this one goes.

The usual FPL captains poll meanwhile includes Ronaldo of course so all bets are off on the winner. Those who get close to him though? That will again be interesting - there’s a couple of tasty looking fixtures about this weekend that could just tip the balance for a few contenders but I’ll shut up now and leave the voting to you.

  1. Does anybody else think Ronaldo will be rested against Middlesborough? Will Fergie play him 3 games in 7 days? Might be worh risking another captain this week?

It might be a good idea MARK if you set up a poll REST or NO REST?

    Awesome site by the way

Ha Ha, that old chestnut again. Will the winker be rested or will he play? I think he will play but Fergie might rest him or he could get injured playing against Roma. Hope that helps.

  2. only 5 votes for berbatov on the poll about most valubale striker in you team, suprising.

as for ronaldo, cant see him being rested, would be a risk seems as borough seem to play well against the top teams, will probably pull him off when they are 2 or 3 up though.

Im sticking with him anyway ;)

any news on why z.knight missed the man.u game?

Simple answer - because he’s crap. One of the worst defenders in the league. Why did they sign him?

  4. hi

i am currently playin the fpl game and i am in a private league with friends.I am currently on 1872 points lying in 3rd place and the top team have 1913 points. I still have my wildcard remaining and would like a good solution that wil enable me to get the maximum amount of points in the remaining gameweeks. This is my team
    Howard
    Ferdinand-Lescott-A.O’brien Subs:Kirkland,Jaidi,Muamba,Anderson
Bentley - Ronaldo - Lampard -Pienaar
    Young-Torres-Berbatov 1.8mill in bank

could you roughly advise me of what to do

    cheers

Your not that far behind LUFC fan, so I wouldn;t make drastic changes to your team as it looks ok. I would swap Young for Yakubo if only for this weekends game, if not then Defoe longer term.
I would try and get a chelsea defender but then he rotates that often the only safe bet is Terry. You may even get in Nicky Butt as a cheeky cheap midfielder who is on form at the moment but keep that to youself.
That’s the only advice I can give and you can tell me to shove it or take it but don’t send the Leeds firm round to my house if it goes pearshaped.

  5. Hi - do you guys think it is worth taking a 4-point hit to bring in Yakubu for Santa Cruz?

  6. Thinking about getting rid of Gerrard as Liverpool can now just concentrate on the CL and he may be rested. Fourth place is just about sown up. So I am going to bring in an Everton player as there next two games I can see a few goals.Arteta or anyone else? Already have Lampard/Ronaldo/Bentley and the mighty Waghorn.
Currenly third in my lead, about 80 points behind.

I only wish fourth WAS sewn up. Everton will beat Derby and Liverpool will quite possibly lose at Arsenal this weekend, and the gap would be down to 2pts again. And without Gerrard we’d struggle to beat Accrington Stanley (who, indeed) let alone the likes of Spurs, Blackburn and Man C.

So I don’t see him being rested. Whether his form’s good enough is another matter, but I thought he had a good game in a fairly attacking role against Everton, and was amazed to see him get no bonus.

I agree I’m pretty sure Gerrard will play in almost every game as long as he’s fit, there’s just too much at stake at this stage of the season. I have him and I’m going to hang on to him, and selling Torres for Defoe recently means I can have Ronaldo, Gerrard and Fabregas in my midfield.

Although Torres is on fire I think you can get better Form(Value) elsewhere - just hope berbatov comes back firing this weekend.

Suppose with the champs this week and next the focus is off the premiership a little. It’s make or break time for the top 4.
