Weekend Team News

posted in Injury News |

Dunne returns for City. Van Persie ruled out by Wenger. Hughes optimistic on Samba fitness. A virus puts Mellberg’s home farewell in doubt. Davies returns to lead the line for Bolton. Oh yeah, Derby’s Stubbs goes under the knife.

As per usual for Thursday night, the team news section has had a refresh to bring you all the early fact and speculation for the weekend. It’s highly likely that this will get a another pass tomorrow evening after more news breaks and just before I take the plunge with my picks.

    Mark:
    Thanks for the notes.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I’d appreciate your thoughts on the likelihood of Ade playing the full 90.
I am tempted to swap him out for Defoe, Agbon, Young or Carew.
Choosing Defoe will afford me the funds to add Barry, Bently or another fancy MF to my XI. If I stick w Ade (or bring in Berb or Villains), the MF will be someone like Elano or Bullard.

Hope box-life is treating you well,

    Mark,

Any chance you could also rollover the FPL Captains Poll to the current gameweek?

Im erring towards Santa Cruz - but would be keen to see what others are thinking…

    Ta.

Yeah thinking exactly same mate, Santa should get one at least!
Itching to see what others think though

I guess that one of the in-form Villa players would be the obvious alternative. But the tricky part is chosing the right one (Barry maybe?) Also, Wigan look a better defensive team than most of Villa’s recent victims.

Ronaldo is always an option, of course, but (dare I say it?) he hasn’t been at his sharpest in the last couple of weeks, and West Ham are a bit of a bogey team for Utd.

I just keep going back to Santa Cruz.

Anyone with any other thoughts / suggestions?

If someone wants a real gamble to catch up. Roberts might smash a hatty!
