Injury Scare For Gerrard

Steven Gerrard has been sent home from Liverpool’s training camp in Switzerland after sustaining a groin injury.

The midfielder sat out Liverpool’s win over Lucerne earlier this week and it has today been revealed that he was carrying the injury. Gerrard is expected to be sidelined for around 10 days, missing the clubs next friendly with Wisla Krakow today, as well as next week’s fixture with Hertha Berlin in Germany.

The midfielder will be a huge favourite with fantasy managers going into the season but this “minor” injury certainly suggests that we need to exercise some caution before spending the significant amount of cash required to buy in the Liverpool man. I’ll keep you posted on his progress.

  1. Hola!

Anyone feeling the same rage as me when they take a peek at the Fantasy Premier League valuations?

Gary Neville the same price as Brown?

Van Persie- £9.5m, sixth highest priced striker? (I reckon Bentdner could be worth a cheeky pop at £5.5m, esp with the Adebayor saga..)

Also, Terry is STILL more expecnsive than Ferdinand and Lescott, even though he had much poorer season this time round….

They’ve also valued Bullard higher than the likes of Davies and Dempsey even though those guys outscored him (I know he was injured, but you thought they would have priced him more accordingly- I mean, chuck me a bone here….)

The valuations make it hard to find potential ’sleepers’….

Any Spurs fans know if Taarabt will make an impact this season? £4.5m…

Totally agree mate, I think the entire game is slightly overpriced by 0.5 on average. Especially the cheaper players, as you say its very difficult to buy a sleeper. I’m hoping one of the new purchases over the next few weeks will provide a few potential bargains
