Looking at the fixtures I think it might be wise to start with Yakubu, then bring in Defoe when Portsmouth's schedule eases up.

I watched Petrov against Celtic and I thought he was very impressive. He had a bright start to last season too so I am going to include him.

I am having difficulty trying to determine my front line. I can't choose between Defoe or Yakubu. Everton have an easier start but Defoe did score against Chelsea last season and I think overall he could outscore the Yak.

Thoughts anyone?

It aint about a easy run Dr. Rog...its about how good they gonna be! It wont matter who they face really i reckon they are gonna hit the ground running...kinda like a few seasons ago when they won all those games in a row!

i think its relative. sure chelsea dont have promoted teams but i'd prefer to back a strong team against moderate opposition than a mid table team with easier fixtures. maybe we'll have another 4-4 goalfest as well!

I was wondering if people think Ben Haim might play LB - i recall him playing there for Bolton a few times. Maybe Hughes might play him there against tough opposition where he needs some strength? He's certainly better than Ball & Garrido...

I asked this the other day and the answer was:

Richards - Ben Haim - Dunne - Ball (with Onuoha & Garrido as subs)

If Corluka stays at city then I'd expect him to play. Maybe he'd go RB, Richards would go CB and Ben Haim woul dbe benched.

I also think Ball and Garrido will split the LB spot more evenly than last year.

Why does everyone seem to think Chelsea have easy fixtures?

First 3 home games : Portsmouth, Spuds, Manure
Frist 2 away games : Wigan, Man City

If i'm not mistaken then certainly 3 of those teams have some of the meanest defences in the league with Wigan not bad and Spuds improving a lot as well.

There 3 home games look tough given the opposition attacks as well. Certainly wouldnt classify them as 'easy'.

For me the easiest runs belong to Arsenal, Bolton, Everton, Hull & West Ham.

i have to agree with mark about newcastle. Guthrie could do well but a massive question mark over newcastle. I see them either doing brilliantly or struggling. Geremis comments the other day did not inspire confidence either and indicated a low morale
