Gerrard Progressing Well

Steven Gerrard looks to be on target to make a return for the United game judging by Rafa’s latest update on his progress.

The Liverpool skipper is currently recovering from a groin operation carried on August 27th, an operation that is expected to sideline him for 10-15 days. There are fears that he could be out for longer, with plenty of speculation suggesting that Gerrard could be out for several more weeks. Talking to the official site however, Rafa seemed positive on Gerrard’s recovery to this point.

“Steven is okay. He’s started with bicycle work and will start jogging, so I think he will be ready soon.”

Liverpool face United at Anfield on September 13 and they are already set to be without Fernando Torres with a hamstring injury.

  1. Apparently he’s been rinsing that bicycle like there’s no tomorrow, really pumping those pasty pins of his… expect his price to go up tonight accordingly.

  3. This was not a surprise. The only surprise is that Rafa has said at this stage he may make it for the United fixture, I expected him to only reveal his return 2-3 days before the game.

  4. Could ngog be a good choice this weekend with no torres and potentially no stevie g? at 5.3 he is a bargain and hardly anyone has him.

  5. El Zar is a better player than Ngog - If he is playing expect to get some points!

El zar comes on as a winger and probably wont start though, rafa may start ngog,he has to look to be playing an attacking line up against man u,and i could bench him after this game.

    Could be going with owen(c)zaki/ngog

  8. I think Benitez has a subconscious hate of Babel for some reason. I think he should be starting. So dangerous on the ball. I have to say I like El Zar. Think he looks a great prospect. No doubt Rafa will play him maybe 5 times all season

  9. babel aint fit yet.. so don’t rush him back plus he can act as a striker if riera plays left wing…

for some reason i’m thinking keane to score his Liverpool 1st against manYoo, got a nack of scoring big goals in important games.

    Come on Stevie G…
