The goals kept flowing, as Dempsey and Hunt reward investment with strong returns to hand some fantasy managers a dream double gameweek. Here’s some notes on the games that brought number 13 (lucky for some) to an end…
Hull’s 3-2 win over Everton saw Stephen Hunt earn the fantasy plaudits with a goal and an assist; Bullard owners were left scratching their heads meanwhile. The inspiration behind the weekend’s 3-3 draw with West Ham didn’t even make the bench. Phil Brown later described the decision to rest Bullard as “precautionary” with the midfielder still rehabilitating from his long-term leg injury. Bullard will be expected to earn a recall for the trip to City this weekend – although Brown admits he will have to consider his team selection carefully after the Everton victory.
The Hull boss made three changes to his side last night with McShane in for the suspended Mendy, while it was Boateng who replaced Bullard in midfield. Geovanni earned a recall for Fagan up front.
Hunt will no doubt get some attention following his goal, assist and FPL bonus, although with a missing fixture in gameweek 17 and some tough fixtures to come (mcy avl BLA ars MUN) around that, it doesn’t look the best time to invest in Hull, despite their form that has seen them score six goals in the last two home games.
As for Everton, they continued their patchy run of form. Moyes could at least take something from the comeback having been 3-0 down at the break and the return of Pienaar to his midfield; he replaced the suspended Fellaini last night. Yakubu started up front with Saha, with Gosling dropping to the bench.
Like Hull, Everton miss a fixture in gameweek 17 and also have dreadful fixtures to come in the next month (LIV TOT che BIR sun), although three of five are at home where Everton are unbeaten in the last five. The weekend clash with Liverpool now looks crucial, but, Saha aside, fantasy investment is unlikely.
The night’s other encounter saw Fulham ease past Blackburn by a three goal margin, although to be fair to Blackburn, they had more than their fair share of what was, in the main, a dreadful game.
Clint Dempsey’s brace was undoubtedly the big news on the night for fantasy managers – richly rewarding the double gameweek investment that came his way. Duff chipped in with a pair of assists, while the likes of Hangeland and Schwarzer also came up trumps with a clean sheet of course, following the 1-0 defeat to Birmingham at the weekend.
Hodgson made a few changes to his lineup – recalling Pantsil at right-back for Kelly, whilst Duff returned for Gera on the left and Nevland was handed a start up front. That saw Dempsey drop back into midfield with Simon Davies making way. This changed on the hour mark, with Gera’s introduction for Zamora pushing Dempsey forward alongside Nevland – with some effect.
Going forward, the Fulham lineup is clouded by the imminent return of Murphy and Andy Johnson from injury. We have to expect a good few shuffles and changes to come in the next couple of weeks then, although Dempsey is surely assured of starts on this form – he may shift back to midfield however.
Having earned a surprising 2-0 win at the Reebok on Saturday, Blackburn disappointed here. Assistant boss Neil McDonald recalled Jacobsen at right-back, shifting Chimbonda to the left to cover for the injured Givet. Grella came in for Nzonzi in central midfield, whilst Andrews replaced the injured Emerton in the other change.
Looking at both these sides going forward and Fulham are another to suffer from the missing gameweek 17 fixture. That’s likely to stall interest in their players in the mid-term, although two home games against Bolton and Sunderland next should see investment in Dempsey continue for at least a fortnight.
As for Blackburn, they also have two home games next (STK LIV) which should bring some rewards given their home form this term. Looking at the season ticker, Blackburn’s fixtures look strong all over Christmas and into the New Year, which should see sustained interest in Dunn, despite his blank last night.

Goblinz, I will keep Kuyt until GW16 I reckon. I am hoping he might do a Hunt. in others words fAAk all for a while, then puts on a spurt. Against Everton, anything could happen, even dareisayit > 2pts for the huge Dirk.
Sorry as this has probably been covered a million times before but what gameweeks are the ACN players likely to miss?
As the best Fan Footy Player on the site, I feel I have to step in
10 January – 31 January
cbf looking at the actual gameweeks though
Can someone offer their opinion on which 3 of these to play this weekend?
Evra, Ivanovic, Ridgewell, Bikey, Hangeland
I’m thinking maybe Evra, Hangeland and Bikey as I’ve got Hart in goal and and can’t see Arsenal not scoring.
Any help appreciated. Cheers
As the best Fan Footy Player on the site, I feel I have to step in
yeah def Evra/Bikey/Hangeland…although I don’t think Ivanovic would be such a bad choice either…Chelsea can stop anyone from scoring!
I’d go with Evra/Hangeland/Ivanovic. WHM could demolsih burnley, I dont think arsenal will score more than 1.
And on only one transfer a week. Splendid discipline.
I like the idea of Bent long term but tempted with Adebayor this weekend given Bent’s possible injury. (My other strikers are Drogba and CCole). What to do in this situation?
As the best Fan Footy Player on the site, I feel I have to step in
I’m doing Bent -> Adebayor this week and then Hunt -> Reid to cover for Sunderlands attacking points
if you’re doing the same transfer as me Leedschampion itll be hard for you to catch me this week
lol Tosey!
what are the chances of someone being higher then me and being online at the same time!
well you got me
I could bet that I’m higher than both of you atm…
are you top 10 overtone? well done! how come no link to your team?
….
thought so….
you’re just too boring to get my joke tosey, but it’s all good..
lets hope it works out
you captaining him aswell?
yeh probably, Im expecting a hattrick!
PS. Leeds “As the best Fan Footy Player on the site, I feel I have to step in” …. c’mon… need I say more?
not havin two keepers on CYKI is posin a problem now with stoke’s fixtures stiffenin up. rather than worryin bout a goalie transfer every week i’m thinkin of just gettin cech in next week. my first year at cyki so anyone knows which strategy is better there? PDM u around?
@ Stu – def Evra and Hangeland.
Would normally play Ridgewell over Bikey………but if Hart is in goal, the split is okay if you dont like taking the risk.
I would say Brum have better CS odds than Burnley though.
Thanks Leeds Champion – have u made the change already? Ade rose 0.1 last night.
I will do that move given that u have a good score compared to my pathetic 762.
How about this?
Sorensen, Given
Ivanovic, Evra, Carr, Scharner, Alexander
Reid, Fab, Dunn, O’Hara, Valencia
Drogba, Rooney, Eduardo
Looking to maybe get this team in over the next few weeks?
Anyone else on the same lines as me in downgrading the forwards? If Bent is injured for a couple weeks I’m planning on getting in Jerome or someone else to warm the bench,.,.
Sorry if this has been covered loys but are ballack or lamps going to play this wekend? Also Adebayor or rooney as captain? Thanks in advance
Adebayor, and I’d expect both of them to play.
6 transfers? What were you thinking!
Haha honestly the first 4 were one of my “friends” having a laugh, he’s in the same league and wanted to mess me up. Than i kinda gave up but i’ve just worked out if I made 0 transfers I’d have finished on 38 points (+2 for fabregas captains extra) = 40 which is 1 less then what I ended on
Adebayor or Rooney for Captain? Doesnt matter they are both gonna score 5 goals……..
ade imo
I’ve got absolutely no idea what to do with my transfer this week.
Apparently have Zamora, Bent and Collins as injury doubts?
But coupled with the fact I want to do the following:
- keep Bent as I feel he’s a season long investment
- get A.Cole in next week without taking a points hit
- get rid of Hughes at some point in the near future for one of Ridgewell/Scharner/da Silva.
The only possibility I have so far is Zamora –> C.Cole, then next week Collins to A.Cole. Unless anyone has any better suggestions?
WHAM have ManUtd next week so whhy bring in C.Cole for that
not only manu. after that they got birminham away and chelsea.
They have Burnley at home, a tough fixture against ManU, but then another two moderate fixtures at Birmingham and Bolton? Three out of those four are fairly nice fixtures, and by then I’d hope that Bent would be back?
Ccole is one yellow card away from a one-match ban.
It’s getting to the point where I’m considering Rodallega…they’ve got two reasonable home fixtures coming up before a trip to stoke. By which point Bent will hopefully be back through the miracle of horse placenta! Better idea than C.Cole?
I am personally trying to capitalise on those two Wigan games by putting in Scharner.
Collins to Scharner.. and next week zamora to doyle.. and then hughes to a.cole
Is zamora a doubt? Did he come off with a knock last night? thinking of switching him for mcfadden, mcfaddens takes all pens and free kicks doesnt he?
Yeah he apparently limped off last night. Bar steward, I was hoping he’d at least provide me with an option for longer than the DGW!
Surely Doyle’s fixtures of Spurs and Man U away are as bad if not worse than C.Cole’s over the next four, and I’d miss the home fixture against Birmingham if I were to delay it til next week.
Essentially the issue is Bobby Zamora, I knew getting him in would be a bad mistake!
Doyle
BIR BOL tot mun BUR
C.Cole
BUR MUN bir bol CHE
tottenham away is’nt too tough a fixture for doyle not to score in. however it’s ur decision. i’m just tryin to see how difficult/easy it is to start a bandwagon(doyle)
Agree tha C.Cole’s fixtures are worse, but he proved last season that you should stick with him against any opponent. Doyle is nowhere near his quality for me.
The fact Cole is at home to United and Chelsea means I will play him in all 5 of these games. Doyle would probably only play 3.
Would you captain him this week?
all this hypin up of adebayor and rooney is a bad sign. usually when there;s this much hype bout a player expect a 2 pointer. they are not good fantasy prospects and just cause the others are unavailable due to injury etc does’nt suddenly make ade and rooney good prospects. i wont be goin near them. i’d put a bet on doyle outscorin em
dont mean doyle will outscore overall ofcourse. i mean this week. usually when everyone concentrates on one player like this a less obviuos candidate eclipses them
who are the Obvious candidates this week then?
Surely Ade and Rooney are right up there due to them being main men in teams that have good fixtures.
Am i missing something?
Lampard and Fabregas will (probably) score low this week.
200 and 184 points 2 and 3 seasons ago for Ade and Rooney resp. move along now. The fact that this year they both seem to attract 3bp if they score makes them even better
maybe i over dramatised waht i said. they may do well this week but long term there are better options. after readin through posts they sound essential. ppl takin hits to get them in etc.. and breakin their teams to get em in. just reducin the hype a little. not worth it long term
so who are you going to captain this week?
doyle. lol. rooney and ade good captain choices this week. just that a couple of weeks back everyone wanted to get ade out of their team cause of his inconsistency and the way he managed to dissapear in many games. nothin has changed since then.
YEA KEITH!?!? WHO!?!
undecided. saturday mornin’s when i decide. i’m jsut against the adebayndwagon. sue me
Well for what it’s worth I despise that guy so much that he will never come near my team.
anti-ade?
welcome to my world.
and all i’m sayin is usually when everyone here puts their hopes on one or two players doin well it leads to dissapointment.
Not true. The captain poll is very often right.
i better cross my fingers and hope rooney does’nt make me lose my H2H then.
God, don’t get MFaulkner started on Adebayor!
I personally think Rooney’s probably the best long term (~10 weeks) option atm, but I agree about Adebayor and will be taking him out after HUL for Drogba again unless he scores millions of points
Gentlemen & Fran,
Decisions, Decisions…….
I’m a bit stuck with what to do with my team this week….need a bit of inspiration….is it time for Drogs, do I transfer out Zamora, or get in Ivanovic, or Mr J Cole?
If it’s not too much trouble – have a butchers and your advice is most welcome……
Many Thanks
I want to get man united players in beacause of their fixtures. I have Rooney and will only really consider evar, flethcher or giggs what do you think of these 3?
evra wil do well the rest of the season. giggs gets loads of points when he gets the minutes so if you have a strong bench to comein whenever he’s benched he is a good option
Ok thanks for the advice. I have a strongish bench normally. What do you think about fletcher and giggs, too much of a risk with ferguson rotation. Or is 1 of them bound to play? Maybe just have evra as the safe option. Also I’ve got Rob Green in net, what do people think of just van der saring/cech/alumunia?
For me the only options for ManUtd are VDS, Vidic, Evra, and Rooney as all the others have question marks.
Fletcher is good value but will be rotated occasionally and plays too deep to be effective FPL wise.
Up front It has to be Rooney as everything goes thru him.
Giggs is quality obviously but again a rotation risk.
Valencia seems to have cemented a place now.
true but will he score the points, i dont see him getting that many goals/assists, once park is back fit then he may be rotated in certain big games.
Park is back fit so avoid Valencia if that is a concern. I agree pretty much.
I now have Rooney & Evra and am wondering about adding a mid myself.
Giggs – pure class and is very likely to get points when playing (pb is he should not play more than once per week)
Fletcher – I don’t like the guy & his magnificient goal hasn’t changed my mind, almost sure starter but usually not a big pointer
What do people think of Valencia? It looks like SAF starts to like him a little more…
anyone else not convinced it is worth taking a 4 point hit this week?
I already used my transfer to drop Milner for Valencia…
So, planning on playing Carlton Cole and Drogba up front… and just sticking Bent on the bench (as opposed to bring in someone else?)
Valencia ‘may’ do good this GW..! If you can take a risk of captaining him, some times you can score BIG
No need of a points hit, The trend of getting Ade for bent is there.. i don’t believe much in ‘Ade Wagon’
He;s a confidience goal scoring machine. I’m hopeful in him but not hopeful enough to captain him, I’ve settled on rooney
finally.. someone against the ade wagon too
I’m coming round to thinking just the one transfer this week, had ade in for a couple weeks not a massive point scorer may take him out next week for drog or torres.
Anyone know the prognosis on Emerton’s injury?
6 weeks to live
Fine, his fixtures are pretty tough after xmas so I will take a chance he survives till then.
who should i captain this week rooney fletcher(for differntial) or gerrard or n’gog?
N’Gog
For comedy effect that is. If you prefer to maximize your score Rooney is probably a better bet.
ok thanks.
Rooney. Having said that I’ve captained him twice before and he’s got me 1,2 points so……
I need VanPersie back!!!
are you sure i should and so do i
I am 3rd time lucky and all that. V-P was my captain my leader, my team now look lost. I cant even go for lamps or gerrard to cover the gaps as they both look abit iffy at the moment
Anybody know where we can track premiership yellow cards?
You can try the transfers page on the FPL site. Or did you want something else?
http://www.bramernic.co.uk/fsports/bansoon.php
afaik the transfers page won’t display any yellow cards received in the carling or fa cups. As such Carlton Cole’s profile only shows three yellows when he is actually on four…
You’re right about that. I was fooled by the phrase ‘premiership yellow cards’. Overtone’s link seems good anyway.
thats great. thanks guys. Really handy info and I iwll take every edge i can get… Cheers t.
Hey guys, im thinking of using my wildcard and this will be my team
Sorensen/Hart
Shawcross Dunne Evra Collins Scharner
Fabregas Dunn Duff Reid KP Boateng
Rooney Drogba Defoe
what do u think?
Yeah good team but its got to be ohara over kp boateng but tbh your team looks really good.
collins to ridgwell boateng to ohara
giving you cash for dunne to a.cole. why’d u want two or any villa defenders with their horrid run of fixtures?
That’s almost scary, Keith.
haha.
Quite nice. At least one Aston Villa defenders too many though. No chance you can squeeze in ACole for Dunne?
Perhaps Collins out for ~4m defender (Ridgewell) and Boateng out for O’Hara?
Maybe Shawcross->Ridgewell, Collins->Caldwell, Boateng->O’Hara and then Dunne->A.Cole
Wouldnt choose collins personally, he looks doubtful again this week! He’s getting dropped from my team this week i think.
is bent defianinetly injured this week?
I think this is justified:
http://www.d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y.com/
so it this a yes or a no?
Haha, we don’t know his scan results yet afaik, doesn’t look good though
LOL
It looks like he’s out, at least for Saturday, possibly 3 weeks, possibly more.
Can’t be certain until we get more news though.
Sorry I posted this above….but No replies!
Gentlemen & Fran,
Decisions, Decisions…….
I’m a bit stuck with what to do with my team this week (see link)….need a bit of inspiration….is it time for Drogs, do I transfer out Zamora, get in Ivanovic, or Mr J Cole? With 1.7M in the bank.
Made a big mistake last week and transfered Bent out!!!
If it’s not too much trouble – have a butchers and your advice is most welcome……
you need to get rid of Kalou as he wont play most games and isnt that good when he does.
Joe cole is vieing with Deco for his place so also not certain, if u want a Chelsea mid and cant afford Super Frank then go for ballack as he is back fit now.
Dont get in Ivanovic as he is also rotation risk, if A Cole is fully fit he is best bet or Terry or Cech.
You dont need to play Zamora (play 2 up top) so coudl wait to see how serious his injury is before making move.
Zamora is obvioulsy and issue to keep your eye on, I would hold off on the drogba transfer until man city/arsenal are out of the way.
I would do Dunne>Evra.
Dunne has had his day in the sunshine and Evra’s form and uniteds fixtures need to be seized upon.
Anyone slightly worried that if they keep Bent, it’ll turn into one of those 3-week-stretched-slowly-into-3-month injuries?
I am. I’m thinking of just keeping him even if he is out for 3 weeks. I’d have to spend a transfer now and one when he’s back because I’m pretty sure I will be wanting him back and I have other plans with those transfers. If he starts dropping though and later on it becomes clear he’ll be out for a longer period, I’ll be up the well known creek without a paddle.
Ah yeah, I often forget to factor in the opportunity cost (hah) of using 2 transfers (I’ll definitely want him back too)
Indeed. I had Pienaar until the last GW on the basis that a “late fitness test” mean’t that he was very close to being back in the team…
Lesson learned.
pienaar had not gone up by 1m though gromit! the difficulty with dropping him now is that he has almost zero chance of dropping to the level you would sell at and as cursher says the transfers to get rid and then bring him back in (still great value imo) could be better spent elswhere.
I would wait to hear what the scan tells us but if it is a hammy then these things are usually predictable enough (I think).
That’s why if they do say 3 weeks – I will sell without and qualms or queries, three weeks could easily mean 4/5 gameweeks without much stretching. Just offload and buy someone who can get me some returns.
So I will lose him if so, then investigate getting my friend Darren back in my squad if/when he does return – whether it be just before christmas, or whether it’s in February. Happily use a couple of transfers than him languish there.
nice gw score andy congrats
seriosu win in the h2h too! I’ll bet BPFC is well pissed today
.
I feel sorry for poor granville, he had me beat up a stick until sunday and wednesdays games turned everything on its head. It just does not look like his season at all
Yup, I am chuffed as sin Dino and I imagine BP is mad as heck… to score 121 points in a gameweek and still not win your Head to Head must be sore the following morning! Least he is still top though, so he’ll survive…
Poor Granville, I saw the Bullard rest coming – but all the same. He managed to beat Mark, but the comeback was whittle down to pretty much nada. What did he gain this gameweek? 6 points… unlucky as hell.
yep the fantasy gods are not smiling on him at all this year.
Maybe fran will start another mid season league for all those who have been unlucky so far this year
Nope and I lost my game in the Fran league by 1 point to denial having been 40 points ahead.
Quick question: Doyle or Benitez and why?
I personally wouldn’t go near either of them, most the defenders in the game have scored more than those 2. I know they’re cheap but there’s literally 20 better forwards to choose
So who is better in this price range?
That’s kind of my point, they’re all pretty shit at that price range imo
I checked the tweets, but don’t see recent news about Drogba or Bent playing this weekend. Anyone have an update for this out-of-the-loop Canuck?
was wondering the same thing myself, but i do know drogba was playin last night…
drogba played in the CL yesterday so he’ll play. Don’t know about Bent
Thanks. Ok, one striker confirmed.
I was so mesmerized (like a deer caught in the headlights) when watching Man United’s game yesterday that I went into a stupor and forgot to check the Chelsea game and line up.
Has anyone checked Bent’s twitter? Someone send him a message ask if he is going to make this weekend
I nominate you, Noodles. Go for it.
@DBTheTruth yo benty I have you in my FPL team since week 1 should I ship you out for McFadden or will you be back by the weekend? Thanks
i did it
LOL nice one Louie! Let me know what the truth has to say
sure I will no problem
Just had a quick look at his twitter. Talks a lot about football- you read about some players who just don’t care for football at all, so nice to see that he’d rather watch Inter v Barca than an English team.
Yeh Benty seems like an alright lad……just wish he would tell us if hes playing this weekend.
Hahah, that’s a bit street isn’t it Louie?
I am the streets
“DBTheTruth”… Just for that Twitter username I should transfer him out, jeeeez!
If you were a football player that played FF. Would you captain yourself every week?
Absolutely, forget about the money, women and fame, the FF points would be the real incentive to play well
Radio Five Live just said Bent only has cramp and will be fit for the weekend…
Any news on Bent, is he in or out, the suspence is killing me?
Join the club …
+1
ive made a masterplan for my defence up until gwk 21
my defence rite now is
Hughes/Chimbonda/Scharner/Bikey/Dawson
GWK 16. COLE-chimbonda
RIDGEWELL-dawson
GWK 17…………….
GWK 18. ZABALETA-hughes
GWK19…………….
GWK20. FAYE-zabaleta
GWK21……………..
Alright final thoughts guys, for this gameweek i want to play
Hart
Evra Ridgwell Scharner
Reid Duff Fabgregas Dunn
Defoe Drogba Rooney(c)
Bench:Sorensen,A.Cole, Shawcross, Ohara
Any comments?
We have 7 players in common from starting XI (9 in total), hence I can’t complain too much – Maybe I wouldn’t double up on Birm Def + I enjoy having Dempsey over Duff
This is one of those times when I find I have 14 likely fit players with just Bent as a doubt so far. I’ll put him as a starter anyhow and if I need an auto sub, so be it.
Second point I’d make is that a lot of players, both selected and targeted, will be playing in Carling and Europa in midweek and still 4 CL games to endure the week after with cards and injuries possible.
As a general point, I think this would be one of the worst times to play a WC but one of the best ones to make NO transfers to allow for 2 freebies for next week in case of midweek Cup mishaps. It could prove wrong to make unnecessary changes at this stage.
Girasoli, it is one thing to be against transfer hits but you seem to be against transfers full stop! If someone gets injured take the hit and move on or let your squad deal with it. Dont be afraid to make moves just in case something might happen.
The only case I could make for not making a transfer is if your team is as good as it can possibly be (not likely) or if you want to trade down in one position and use the cash to trade up in another (this mean you are without your big player for one less gw).
No, I’m not against transfers but I have gained nothing from some week-by-week tinkering.
I really see no need to change, especially if Bent is now fit, as reported but I may be very grateful for the added flexibility of 2 free changes next week. TEN teams risking their players next week outside of PL action. I have no headroom for upgrades having spent up 100% so would have to do a double xfer to trade up and down.
Maybe I’ll score 160 points one week after inactivity, like this week’s top scorer did.
Worth keeping Zamora? that piece of S
Please, nobody say I told you so…
Other transfers I want to make, and surely when he is fit again he will start? Or do people see him losing his place? I want him to play so I can celebrate when he misses open goals
bikey or jerome this gwk??
If I had to chose I’d go Bikey
Really dont know what transfers to make this week, collins and elliott have to go soon, thinking gonna have a bad week this week most of my players have tough games, any advice on what to do?
Bent – C. Cole or
Collins – Scharner
Both injures and doubthfull
Who to buy first?
Evra od Scharner.
1) Scharner against SUn without strikers. I see a home win and Scharner involved and my nearest rival has him, then buy Evra against W ham (I think Man U will concede that game) but long term good transfer
2) Evra against Portsmouth – likely clean sheet. NExt week Scharner against Birmingham – very favourable fixture.
Thanks,
Or
Anybody pls
Evra first.
1. He is a better player
2. He has a better fixture
3. He plays for a team that didn’t just concede 9 goals; Wigan may need to find their feet a bit after the mauling
4. His price will rise before GW15 begins (imo)
any body else found that although the week you use your wildcard is interesting as you chop n change alot, the weeks afterwards are quite boring as you know what your transfers are for the next few weeks
Keep up the good work Tosey, but I thnik sooner or later you need some defenders. Your thought about my previous question?
well i would rather spend the money further up field, its worked well so far so guna carry on.
in answer to your question if i was going to get in evra and scharner id go evra first
Appreciated.
I am cheering for u
Allready you’ve made transfer. Brave. Who is next on your radar?
with sorenson as ur keeper u could have been up to 3rd in the world tosey…though i agree with daniel, u will defo need to invest in ur defence or u will fall like a stone IMO..
oh and davy, with bowyer in aswell id have been 2nd! oh well if drogba had been fit i wouldnt have brought in defoe
thats some achievement being up there out of over 2million people…u still going agbon in place of defoe??
no change of plan. ade in for bent
Have you gone for Ade over Bellamy for Bent as you posted? Who are you going to captain this week?
hey keith
hey Keith hope you had a better gameweek than me!
yeh ade’s in as captain
we’ll have to see with the defence. spurs and stoke fixtures alternate quite well, plus i think my attackers will bring in enough points to make up for the lack of points at the back
we’ll see though, if it does start to go wrong itll only take 2 transfers to bring in one of the much talked about defenders like evra
Join our scout league tosey (code 6664-4991)
i would do granville but then my mini league rivals become aware of this site and i have a lot of cash riding on this season
the way you’re reeling in the points, your rivals need all the help they can get!
He won’t Granny because of money leagues and everything…
Some people eh.
Early May I’m going to put out a big appeal for everyone (everyone!) to join the Scout League. I think we need to show our dominance in the last month of the season, and it would be a damn shame if people don’t do after all this site (and it’s posters) brings to folks.
Despite the goals conceded, is Scharner worth considering? Really want to get him in for Dunne.
Defender playing high up the pitch. That’s the FF dream.
I like this. Alot. They can’t be that bad ever again surely. If this makes so much sense why is there nagging doubt sitting on my shoulder stopping me doing this transfer? Hmmmmmm.
Yeah. Buy buy!!
Cheers guys, I am going to go for it. I hate having Dunne, plus I can sell for 5.7 mil and upgrade elsewhere.
Bent is fit according to the latest news stories.
http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Spo.....earch=bent
Waouw that means I might not take a hit – feel a bit stupid with 3.3 in the bank now (was planning on getting Ade for him)
Darren you beauty!
indeed Ty_D
was thinking about the same move
That’s grand signs, the kind of signs I like to read… now I must deliberate over my transfer options once more.
Great news!
why is it that my fpl is doing so poorly yet i put 10 times more time into it than my other fantasy teams which are doing very well??
sometimes too much thought is a bad thing..
SUPER DARREN
hehe now I can get rid of bloody Distin.
Like christmas come early for you then MF?
Means I might not take a points hit, for a change… oh my.
point hits have done u well andy..140k in world with no hits after gw7 and now after so many breaking into top 400..stick with winning formula till it lets u down..lol..
I almost feel bad about letting him go. We’ve been through so much together, me and Sylvain.
But now I think it’s time for me to double up on United, just like the old days (last season). Who’s with me?
With you every step of the way MF. Distin + Verm out. Brown and Evra in?
Who you thinking of doubling with?
I’ve got Distin…and i’m thinking about giving him one last shot…i know it’s Liverpool…but Moyes is going to get that Everton team up for it at home…
Problem is that i was hoping to save a transfer then do Arsh->Reid and Milner ->Lamps…
Now you;ve got me thinking though…maybe Evans from Man U?
Wasn’t going to be fit last I read about Evans. If he is – then he’s in for sure. Guess we all have to wait till SAF’s news conference before making a wise decision.
I’m splashing out on Vidic to pair up with Evra. Costly it is, but I don’t trust O’Shea, Brown, Rafael or Evans to hold down a first team place.
I considered holding off a week and sticking Evans in when I know he’ll be fit, but Brown could step it up this weekend and god knows when Rio’s going to be back. Could be a couple of weeks, could be all season.
G Johnson > VIdic was something I was considering. Like you, I don’t fancy any of the other members of Man U’s defence, so was interested to see if you were going to say Vidic.
Obviously the price tag makes you think twice, but his goal threat, bonus potential and the fact that United often goal clean sheet crazy round about this time, make him a reliable place for 7.8mil to go.
And those fixtures… just too good to ignore.
Going with VDS would save you a lot of money MF. Or do you value the eventual attacking points?
That would mean upgrading a goalkeeper, which does seem like a waste of money. I’d rather rotate my two cheap players and have one less rotting on the bench.
yipped kay yay
now i’ve got to decide who to drop to my bench!! dempsey or reid or dunn!!
I dropped Milner. Playing Demps.
Dunn looked exhausted against Fulham. He’s also playing alot deeper and has to work more. Transferred him out so I would bench Dunn if I were you.
dunn is on 4 bookings so he is likely to get a rest soon anyway.
transfered him out?! his fixtures are great. takes pens, freekicks and corners. great for his price
I’ll get him back after the Pool game. Assuming he’s got his fifth yellow by then.
llama you are like a dalai lama with your soothing sage words
where can we send alms oh wise one?
I’ll give you my paypal if you want
.
I dont think they do alm transfers llama
Wooooooooop!
Good news if accurate. Still leaves me a dilemma of what transfer (if any) to make. Tempted by the City at home to Hull fixture as are a lot of others. But can’t really easily justify bringing someone in for just 1 game.
I’d planned to start the lad knowing I don’t mind my first sub playing anyway. Still great news, although of course now he needs to do something.
Hey guys! i just wildcarded and im planning to use this team for this gameweek
Hart
Evra Ridgewell Scharner
Reid Duff Fabgregas Dunn
Defoe Adebayor(c) Rooney
Substitutes:Sorensen, A.Cole, Shawcross, Ohara
IS this good?
imo yes…
Bent fit for Wigan.
Now i must decide whether to captain him or Adebayor
