Meet The Team

by Mark on December 8

Don’t worry, we’re not coming around for dinner. When we do, I’ll give you more notice so you can cater for all our dietary requirements (Granville has a fantasy points intolerance). Nope, instead I’ve chosen this afternoon to publish the new “Meet The Team” page. It’s nothing special really, just a summary of all those lovely folk who work tirelessly on the site, with a few lines about the role they play and the great stuff they contribute. I’ve placed it on the top bar should you wish to revisit it.

It’s a nice distraction on this dark and cold Tuesday evening.

As you were.

Is anyone considering getting Berbatov?

pyrohippy December 8 at 9:57 pm

isnt he injured?

Girasoli December 8 at 9:57 pm

Knee problem. He was left out of the squad that travelled to Germany for the game to Wolfsburg and according to SAF it was down to an injury that makes him a doubt for the game to Villa. [source]

From injuries and bans above

Fran December 8 at 9:59 pm

Thanks, but with United having so many injuries which players will probably be in the weekend line-up to start?

Rich December 8 at 10:01 pm

giggs

Alan Partridge December 8 at 10:03 pm

Reoccurring that knee injury too.. not looking good for berba.

Andy December 8 at 10:07 pm

I don’t think it’s re-occurring (this time), to be fair if it is then yes it’s a problem. I still think it’s more likely than not that SAF just ‘made up’ some trivial problem as an excuse to leave his two big strikers at home.

Twisted Saltergater December 8 at 10:56 pm

I was just discussing with a mate today the exact same thing. It would be typical and clever of SAF to detract from what could’ve been a bad result against Wolfsburg by fielding such a weak team. I’ll happily put a tenner on both Rooney and Berbatov making ‘comebacks’ against Villa.

Fran, I put in Berbatov last week after he impressed me mightily in his 60 minutes against Spurs in the Carling Cup. Hope he gets to pull the strings at the weekend.

Alan Partridge December 8 at 10:01 pm

From Zippy, George and Bungle on 606: “Gabriel Obertan was on the field for a total of 18 minutes and set up two goals. Can we now just give him the left-wing position with Luis Valencia on the right, please?

^^^^THIS!

Andy December 8 at 10:02 pm

Let’s hope Giggs gets injured then so we can buy a £5m cheapie. He’ll be weened in all year, unless just that happens…

Morrissey1986 December 8 at 10:03 pm

I remember when Obertan first signed the reviews weren’t that great and now his taking people by storm fair play to him. His got in front of a few player at Man United what’s happened to Tosic and Nani is so far down the pecking order now.

Alan Partridge December 8 at 10:05 pm

Apart from his assist Nani was dreadful again tonight. Gave the ball away countless times which is one of SAF’s pet hates.

Alan Partridge December 8 at 10:04 pm

Yeah, or SAF chooses to play Giggs in the attacking mid role like last season. Weening looks far more likely though definitely.

Morrissey1986 December 8 at 10:01 pm

Evra was captain tonight nice :)

davysteen December 8 at 10:06 pm

evens with pp for leeds to win this in extra time..great price…1 of these chances must go in…its an onslaught…

WeWuzRobbed December 8 at 10:12 pm

Dunno mate it’s Leeds we’re talking about.

davysteen December 8 at 10:19 pm

happy days..feel for kettering but it was too good a price to turn down…

Aris December 8 at 10:06 pm

I’m afraid if SAF might rest Rooney and let him recover, and play Owen this weekend after his hat trick.

Morrissey1986 December 8 at 10:07 pm

Can Owen manage back to back games with this fitness levels?

haxman December 8 at 10:08 pm

Definitely captaining Defoe now.

Rich December 8 at 10:10 pm

me too

haxman December 8 at 10:12 pm

Just saw Ronaldo’s free kick. That has to have been 30+ yards! What a strike!

DMul December 8 at 10:14 pm

Unbelieveable!!!

fleeto2009 December 8 at 10:53 pm

what a cracker alright!

Twisted Saltergater December 8 at 10:59 pm

He’s such an arrogant, strutting cockerel tho!

philman71 December 8 at 10:12 pm

Question for you experts out there :o )

I am in a private league, with a 60 point lead over quite a closely bunched pack behind. There is a £40 prize for top after GW20. Should I look to match there teams, look for differentials or just play my own game? Also, thinking of making a triple sub (-8 points), but think it will be good for the medium term (at least up to GW20)

Dino December 8 at 10:16 pm

dont take the hits unless you need to (very tempting when you have a lead but if they go wrong it is a sure way of falling back into the chasing pack and I know from painfull experience of losing a 100pt lead in my first season), and other than that play your own game would be my advice.

philman71 December 8 at 10:19 pm

Thanks Dino. I am very keen to bolster my defence with Evra, and swap Gerrard for Arsahvin, and changing Rodellega for Franco (very good value forward imo). Need to swap my keeper for GW17 too. That’s the plan!

Just One More Thing December 8 at 10:18 pm

Your link still shows gw14, but I managed to see what you had in gw15 and that team is pretty good save for one Hull player who will not have a game in gw17; and an injured Wolves player. There are also question marks over David Dunn.

I’d bring Ridgewell or another Brum defender in for Zubar and sit tight. An 8 point hit will only help the challengers reduce that lead!

philman71 December 8 at 10:22 pm

Thanks JOMT. The injured Wolves player was just to keep the money down. Wanna play 3-4-3 most of the time, but sometimes 4-4-2, so don;t ever intend to use him. The triple sub will also give me better cover for those on 4 yellows and injuries.

Dino December 8 at 10:23 pm

those look like decent moves philm. A temporary keeper is a must for gw17 also but other than that you are ticking along nicely

Girasoli December 8 at 10:22 pm

Philman. You’re 1 point in front of me so you must know better than me. But I’m sure you’ll go for the play your own game option. Best scores are best scores.

And what on Earth was wrong with a team worth 87 points?

philman71 December 8 at 10:23 pm

Sorry, that was GW14 as JOMT pointed out!

philman71 December 8 at 10:24 pm

Some excellent responses, much appreciated!!

Marknlard December 8 at 11:02 pm

Philman, I’d forget about the other teams and play your own game. 60pts isn’t that big a lead so even if you have a completely identical team to your rival, they can still overtake with captains. Keep doing what you’ve done so far!

philman71 December 8 at 11:11 pm

Thanks Marknlard. Do you think an 8 point hit is a bad idea unless you absolutely have too? I am sure that medium term it is a good move (Zayatte -> Evra, Gerrard -> Arshavin, Rodellega -> Franco).

BobB December 8 at 10:14 pm

No way of knowing whether Rooney will play against Villa – but if he doesn’t, I think he’ll be back for Wolves at home…so you’d be brave to drop or sell him

juniorbaiano December 8 at 10:14 pm

A. Cole + Tevez
or
Ivanovic + Robinho ????

sticko December 8 at 10:21 pm

first option for sure

Morrissey1986 December 8 at 10:17 pm

How did everyone think Robinho did against Chelsea?
Wonder if his worth a differential if Rooney don’t make it which seems likely only 2% own and it could be a good deal.

WeWuzRobbed December 8 at 10:18 pm

Grellllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!

MerryMichaelW December 8 at 10:27 pm

Can someone tell me what happened??!@!

Morrissey1986 December 8 at 10:18 pm

Leeds score :(

Jonny December 8 at 10:18 pm

Miiiiiiike Grella!!

Jonny December 8 at 10:20 pm

And another from Kandol! Job (finally) done.

WeWuzRobbed December 8 at 10:21 pm

Phew! It’s hard work supporting Leeds, I’ll tell you that.

Morrissey1986 December 8 at 10:19 pm

3-1 Kandol.

Jonny December 8 at 10:28 pm

What a finish from Grella to make it 4. Brilliant goal.

MerryMichaelW December 8 at 10:29 pm

Have Leeds many English players? (plaintively)

Jonny December 8 at 10:50 pm

Well tonight they had Bromby, White, Howson, Hughes and Beckford starting, and Capaldi come on as a sub. Whether they’re English “plaintively” or not I don’t know…

fleeto2009 December 8 at 10:53 pm

capaldi’s northern irish…

Morrissey1986 December 8 at 10:22 pm

15 saves for Lee Harper

Plus 5 :)

philman71 December 8 at 10:28 pm

Another question – fiso much more reliable than Fantasy Tools?

Just One More Thing December 8 at 10:33 pm

I don’t really know – for example FISO has Dunn on 80% of the way to a drop but Frank’s site says he should have dropped last night – both sites still not 100% accurate despite the hard work put in. Both invaluable as guides to price rises/falls though.

philman71 December 8 at 10:36 pm

JOMT, your link shows GW14 too, hehe!

Just One More Thing December 8 at 10:41 pm

Thanks for that – I think we are OK now? :-)

philman71 December 8 at 10:42 pm

Parfait!!!

Dino December 8 at 10:35 pm

more like the other way round but you are safer using both and if in doubt err on the side of caution

dbronaldo December 8 at 10:39 pm

hey dino u still gona do ur ultra chelsea defence like u were saying saturday nite?
would u believe despite my displeasure over the weekend looks like im gona keep steve g for a while yet!

philman71 December 8 at 10:41 pm

what are your thoughts behind keeping Stevey G, is it purely fixtues, or Torres coming back?

dbronaldo December 8 at 10:56 pm

hey phil,
have a few reasons
i have following midfield now
lennon, fabregas, gerrard, reid, ohara,

if i were to downgrade gerrard there are only 2 options i would consider : valencia /arshavin , i already have united attackers covered so that leaves arshavin however im hedging my bets on niclaus bendtner coming back pre week 20 double gameweek and puttting him in my frontline.

another reason for gerard is the upcoming fixtures of
ARS WIG por WLV, added to this torres is coming back so im hoping for an upturn on in liverpools attackin output.

and given that i plan to get rid of drogba as he is leavin for africa soon , keeping gerrard allows me to swap to lampard week 20 for chelsea amazing run of fixtures over january and cover chelsea attacking wise.
took a lot of tinking and waying up but i reckon ill keep him until week 20 and swap to lamps then.

dbronaldo December 8 at 11:01 pm

this is line up ive planned for week 20,
will have gerrard to avail of liverpools good run and then swap to lamps week 20. gona try get tevez to avail of city s amazing run aswell.

current line up
hart / sorenson
bikey, turner, a cole,( hangeland), (dann )
gerrard , fabregas, lennon, reid (o hara)
fletcher, drogba (c) , rooney

possible week 20:
sorenson
faye, a cole, evra, dann (bikey)
lampard, fabregas, lennon, (o hara, reid)
rooney , bendtner, tevez

philman71 December 8 at 11:16 pm

dbronaldo, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. I ask as I am thinking of changing Gaerrard to Arshavin. They both have good fixtures, but I always planned to change to Arshavin once Arsenal lost Van Persie. I agree with Bendtner being great value on his return, and I also have to think of a plan for Drogba going GW20. Don;t forget Arsenal have a double game in GW20. I just see Arshavin outscoring Gerrard until then as well.

dbronaldo December 8 at 11:21 pm

ya i have planned for week 20,
with liverpool fixture up to week 18 i reckon gerrard could / will get some big scores epecially the way wigan porthsmouth and wolves are defending.

i tink fabs and bendtner will do me ok in week 20, and il have lamps to cover chelsea attack aswell, i dont want arsh fabs and bendtner 4 week 20 and i feel bendner is well worth it 4 6m,
i already have fabs so
essentially it was
arshavin and forward 8mil ??( saha, bent)

or
lamps and bendtner
so its an easy choice if bendtner comes back

philman71 December 8 at 11:25 pm

Again, nice insight. I agree that Fabs, Arshavin and Bendtner could be overkill, but the is no guarantee Bendtner will be back, or even a regular.

Also, why have you made so many subs, and had so many point hits?

philman71 December 8 at 11:27 pm

I can see you faith in Gerrard given you captained him away to Blackburn!!

Dino December 9 at 12:20 am

I would not bet on bendtner coming back for gw20 I read somewhere that they are looking at the fa cup game in the middle of that double wk for his come back game

Dino December 9 at 12:15 am

still thinking about it db, Even if I do it it will be over the next few gw’s and I have a back out option before bringing in the last def.

I like to keep my plans loose just so long as I know what direction I want to go so as I dont leave myself short by using up cash just because it is lying around in the bank.

If say you brought in evra just because you had an extra 2.0m in the bank and find that arhsavin has a nice double in 5/6weeks time and when the time comes you are 1m or so off the transfer you are either going to waste a transfer to try and raise the cash/take a point hit to do it/miss out

I think it is important to have a 5-10 week plan but it is obviously going to be flexible due to form/rotation/injuries etc

dbronaldo December 9 at 12:23 am

ya i agree, i have ‘ a plan’ but its certainly not set in stone,
depends on form of
gerrard, lamps and arshavin,
fitness of bendtner and his role,

basically id like one of the big boys to go with fabs given there fixtures. u still gona hold out on lamps or have u made ur mind up yet?

Dino December 9 at 12:35 am

wont have to make up my mind for another couple of weeks so I’ll wait and see what his form is like. If he could start getting back into the 3bp territory in which case he would be the fulcrum of the team again then I will prob hold onto him but not looking good at the moment.

Keep an eye on bendtner for that double as I pointed out above db as I doubt he will be back (he was part of my plan also)

Rich December 8 at 10:31 pm

why are these 3 gameweeks like 3 days apart from each?

fleeto2009 December 8 at 10:55 pm

there’s always a few premier league midweeks during the season…

dbronaldo December 8 at 10:35 pm

ive been looking at alternatives for drogba most of the day:
the joy of been a student on a break ;)
dare i say it im thinking of tevez…..may do drogba > tevez around week 18 and swap gerrard to lampard to cover chelsea attack wise.

i really like tevez fixtures from week 18:

SUN STK wlv BLA eve stk POR hul

i know it be a major gamble

plus the extra £ alllows me to buy evra

badker December 8 at 10:42 pm

could be a differential. Nice fixtures but i have Ade already.

Just One More Thing December 8 at 10:50 pm

I think City’s fixtures are really good but like I said earlier they will either turn a corner after the win over Chelsea or continue to underperform v the weaker teams. I think their goal average v bottom half team is 1.71 goals whilst against top half teams it is more like 2 goals…

The Ade captaincy flops v Hull and Burnley finished me off but I would be inclined to look at somebody like SWP to take advantage of those good fixtures. Likewise Chelsea and United have equally good if not better fixtures but the conundrum lies in getting in consistent, reasonably priced midfieders from those teams to complement the typical forward lines of Rooney/Drogba/Bent or Rooney/Defoe/Drogba etc…

badker December 8 at 10:52 pm

fair points. pity city are so inconsistent

JC December 8 at 10:36 pm

yes!! finally won some money tonite after leeds finally decided you have to score goals to win matches in ET :)

badker December 8 at 10:41 pm

congrats

AmeliesDad December 8 at 10:51 pm

Unless your bet was on the 90 minute market! I hope you bet on the overall winner though, in which case congrats.

Shipstontrev December 8 at 11:00 pm

Hi Amelie’s Dad from Shipston. I see you’re a Brakes fan. I went to see them early in the season against Banbury, when they were playing well. Since then they have fallen away a bit – is there any particular reason for this?

Marknlard December 8 at 10:58 pm

I thought Wolfsburg’s odds were too tempting to ignore. Another loser for me.

davysteen December 8 at 11:01 pm

me 2 MnL but i made it back on leeds winning in xtra time…

fleeto2009 December 8 at 10:55 pm

what is rooney’s chance of playing?

TorresMagic December 8 at 11:17 pm

Last time I looked at the site he was 54% of playing but this % has been going down daily.

fleeto2009 December 9 at 10:26 am

no he’ll play.

davysteen December 8 at 10:56 pm

im doing hangeland out for ivanovic…should i take a 4 point hit and also do bent in for agbonlahor??

Dalet December 8 at 10:58 pm

Hangeland is very close to rising….maybe make a buck or two first?

davysteen December 8 at 11:00 pm

i bought him at 5.1 and if he goes up ill still not make anything…

Dalet December 8 at 11:02 pm

Okay, just thought I would raise the point, encase…

Dalet December 8 at 11:04 pm

In reply to your Question …. I wouldn’t take the hit personally. bent is not really in form at the moment. And Agbonlahor is against a depleted Man U defence, thats more reason to keep him this weekend, I can see AV getting a result.

davysteen December 8 at 11:06 pm

yea ur prob right but ive a feeling bents in for a big week but i think ill not bother taking a hit…

i need to work out how to get torres or gerrard in asap after arsenal game…

matt16matt December 8 at 11:15 pm

why?

matt16matt December 8 at 10:58 pm

Seriously this decision is the worst for me all season. Im racking my brains, i go to remove gerrard every week but dont, and he always dissapoints, im too scared about removing him on the week he explodes.

In short – its

Gerrard and Bellamy – (at the moment)

Of swap them to

Defoe and Lennon

Votes pleaseeeeeeeeeee

CatMac December 8 at 11:03 pm

I’d say yes…………but dont have any of them!!

Would get Defoe in if I could.

Billy Manchester December 8 at 11:03 pm

While both Lennon and Defoe have their good points, for my money two gentlemen of the ’spurs’ persuasion is just a little enthusiastic – especially given that both are currently experiencing inflated prices.

matt16matt December 8 at 11:04 pm

Prices and money dont matter, purely goign by a points this week basis! Thanks tho i think its gota be defoe and lennon

Shipstontrev December 8 at 11:03 pm

I vote swap. Man City are so inconsistent, and Spurs have got Wolves at home.

CatMac December 8 at 11:07 pm

I agree. My dilemma is Lampard out (similar to Gerrard out), but how can you justify 12+m not scoring hwen loads of cheaper ones are???

dbronaldo December 8 at 11:04 pm

im in same boat as u, i have gerrard and have just now accepted would be crazy to get rid until week 20, he will pay us back! just keep faith

matt16matt December 8 at 11:06 pm

But he, and the team loooooooooook soooooooooo rubbbbishhhhhhhhhh

matt16matt December 8 at 11:16 pm

what do you think you will do? see gezza and lamps cud easily smack it on with 10 – 15 – 20 points at any moment

Rogan Josh 31 December 8 at 11:55 pm

Defoe yes, Not sure about Lennon. Looking at the stats Lennon tends to murder the weak teams and do sod all against the better teams. Having said that Tottenham have got some nice fixtures coming up. Including a battle against Wayne Bridge in GW17 :-)

AmeliesDad December 8 at 10:58 pm

I’m at a loss what to do with this team now! I thought I was heading in the right direction too…

Sorensen (Myhill)
Cole A, Vermaelen, Evra, Dunne, (Zayatte)
Dempsey, Fabregas, Dunn, (Bowyer, O’Hara)
Defoe, Rooney, Agbonlahor

Myhill needs changing this week or next, But my other changes are in doubt due to price changes and injury concerns :(

Rich December 8 at 11:03 pm

ur team’s pretty good…maybe sell agbondlahor for rodallega, bent, or fletcher.

Pierre Luigi Collina December 8 at 11:08 pm

Tiger had Kirsty Gallacher aswel! WTF crazy

Just One More Thing December 8 at 11:12 pm

How many hole-in-ones is that now? :-)

Shipstontrev December 8 at 11:15 pm

lol

Twisted Saltergater December 8 at 11:26 pm

He must be on the back 9 by now ;-)

Churchill December 8 at 11:35 pm

The guy’s fast turning into a legend. I’m actually interested in him now, but not in the biblical sense.

Billy Manchester December 8 at 11:09 pm

I fear for Mikel Arteta.

According the injury table he’s out for another 91 years. That seems like one hell of an injury…

;)

Shipstontrev December 8 at 11:12 pm

That really takes the biscuit!

Marknlard December 8 at 11:13 pm

Think how much his price will drop.

Pierre Luigi Collina December 8 at 11:21 pm

I hope rooney will be fit for wolves , dont mind 2 much bout villa, can play scharner instead…
Lennon for captain!

matt16matt December 8 at 11:28 pm

your mad, lennon!

dbronaldo December 8 at 11:39 pm

id be nervous if i was as high as u colina and not have a chelsea defender or drogba for the coming weeks….no?

fleeto2009 December 8 at 11:41 pm

United take on Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday and Fergie said he expected to have some of his injured players back.

“We expect Nemanja Vidic to be fit for Saturday’s game,” said Fergie.

“Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov will both be fit, as will Ryan Giggs.

“If we have that availability, then we’ll be ok.”

Dino December 9 at 12:29 am

source fleeto?

Mark December 9 at 12:32 am

Linked in an article just posted on the site Dino and tweeted by GreekFan.

Dino December 9 at 12:43 am

cheers mark just catching up on some posts hadn’t spotted the tweet. Makes dino a happy man going to bed tonight now though :D

night jim bob, night mary ellen

immybob December 8 at 11:28 pm

Hey guys, after some advice…
My team is –
Sor (Jensen)
Evra Turner Scharner (Song Collins)
Fab Demp Young A Giggs (O’Hara)
Drog Ade Agbon

Was thinking about Collins out Dann in and Agb out Defoe in
Any reasons why I should or shouldn’t please guys.?

immybob December 8 at 11:29 pm

Also have 2 transfers and 0.0 Spare cash.!

Rogan Josh 31 December 8 at 11:49 pm

Looks like two good transfers to me. Birmingham’s fixtures stiffen up after the next two games though. Blackburn have some better fixtures in the long term and are pretty strong at the back.

dbronaldo December 8 at 11:35 pm

hey phil in reply to ur comment from above:

ya made a few too many transfer early on, too many realy as i messed up wildcard, and got pretty sick of it, so just went craxy 4 a week or 2,
back on track now,
should be alot higher than i am but stil i reckon i can have a good year.

ya regarding gerrard had way too much fate in him last weekend just felt blackburn would be tired and he could have been a differntial.

philman71 December 8 at 11:54 pm

Just seen this post lurking away from the originla posts. It seem most here think ditching Gerrard despite GWs coming up is till a good thing. I know it is scary ditching a player that may be due a good week, but on current form, you gotta say he is over priced (Lampard too). I guess you will have the “I told u so” coversation next week, after my 8 point hit and no Gerrard. I look forward to it!

dbronaldo December 8 at 11:58 pm

i reckon i have to give gerrard a go over next few weeks given his fixtures,
i watched the blackburn game and he did seem to be becoming more involved although far below his normal self,
its just hope at the moment and given i dont want to invest in valencia or arshavin for a hit il keep gerrard at least until week 19.

philman71 December 9 at 12:02 am

The problem for me is without transfering Gerrard, I cannot do anything with my team. Swapping Gerrard for Arshavin, I get get Evra for Zayatte, as long as I sub Rodellega for Franco. I think Franco would be an excellent 3rd striker in a 3-4-3, or sub in a 4-4-2 at his price, and then I have both Evra and Ivanovic for cleanies. Unfortunately, an 8 point hit, and 1.3 in the bank.

Leaving Gerrard in mean I lose Evra. I also need to sub my 2nd keeper for GW17, so I would be getting hits still if I left them for a week.

dbronaldo December 9 at 12:16 am

ya i see what u mean,
i want evra also but am not in such a rush given there injuries, i plan to wait until week 18 and downgrade drogba to get in tevez and get evra 4 hangeland,

given ur goalie predicatament that should be priority num 1

and maybe given fixtures u could also downgrade milner > bowyer/ larson
and that would free up some nice cash 4 brown, he should be back by then

this week

milner> larsoon/ bowyer

next week
simonsen > hart
zubar > wes brown

wt u tink?

philman71 December 9 at 12:25 am

hmm, I see what you are doing, but I am not keen on the long term presence of Brown, although other centre backs are out until Jan, but dunno how long Brown is out for. Not keen on losing Milner at the mo either. I know he has a tough fixture list, but he is bang on form too. I am happy to leave Zubar too as a sacraficial cheepy, as I only need 3/4 defenders in a 3-4-3 or 4-4-2 formation.

It’s damn tough this game ain’t it.

philman71 December 9 at 12:27 am

What about Zayatte -> Evra, Milner -> Bowyer this week, leaving 0.4 for next weeks keeper sub?

dbronaldo December 9 at 12:46 am

ya 2 good subs,
like them both and both good 4 the future.

philman71 December 9 at 12:50 am

stil does not get Arshavin in though, which I think is a real good move at the mo. Tempted by Bowyer and Wes Brown too – you really got me thinking, cheers!!

Shipstontrev December 8 at 11:39 pm

Sorenson or Hart in goal this week?

dbronaldo December 8 at 11:41 pm

sorenson

fleeto2009 December 8 at 11:42 pm

Churchill December 8 at 11:44 pm

Hoping Rooney doesn’t make it, in the nicest possible way. Too many of my league competitors have him.

PeteT December 8 at 11:52 pm

I hope you’re right fleeto… where did you get that quote from, by the way?

This is fantastic news!! That old dog, Fergie… blatently made up the injury just so he didn’t have to take him to Germany.

Rejoice, fellow Rooney owners!

GinjaWhinja December 9 at 12:00 am

Fit doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll play though, I hope last min he benches him :)

dbronaldo December 9 at 12:18 am

1 in a million chance of rooney benched,

thats why its good for FPL this year, united cant rest rooney if his fit given the need to catch chelsea and they cant realy on a ronaldo type figure to bang a few past the smaller teams

therefore rooney will prob always play if he is near fitness IMO

Dino December 9 at 12:41 am

best news I have seen in I cant remember how long :D

UrSumthinElse December 8 at 11:55 pm

Am i mad leavin evra on the bench?? Who should i have as my subs this week as it stands i have:

Given
Shawcross Ivanovic Dann
Boateng Reid Fab Lamp(C) Taylor
Bent Rooney
(Sorenson, Evra, Zamora Painstil)

really dont hav a clue who to bench this week!!

PeteT December 8 at 11:56 pm

I’m starting to get annoyed at the lack of updates on Dunn. I need to know if he’s fit for this week!!

This is annoyance towards Blackburn, btw, not this site!

The Rock December 9 at 12:03 am

calm dwn its only tuesday! i am sure there will be word soon, you don’t need to make all you transfers straight away, the best option is to wait untill friday to make them.

and i am also waiting to see if he will be playing ;)

PeteT December 9 at 12:12 am

Aye, you’re right… I shall be calm.

mar December 9 at 12:16 am

feel sorry for jimmy bullard! on a brighter note anyone thinkin of bringin in owen after his magnificent hatrick?

immybob December 9 at 12:19 am

I did but he’s made of Glass.! SAF’s just dicking around…I’d bet they’re all Fit..!!

mar December 9 at 12:26 am

hmm i dont think so, he played carrick park an fletcher in defence! doubt he would just do that to ‘dick’ around

philman71 December 9 at 12:34 am

dbronaldo/Dino, just wanted to say thatnks for your thoughts tonight, much appreciated.

dbronaldo December 9 at 12:48 am

not probably mate,
enjoyed the conversations

Dino December 9 at 12:58 am

no problem buddy, just bear in mind all advice here is opinion so take it with a pinch of salt and go with what you feel yourself.

There is nothing worse than going with what someone else says and missing out on a big haul because you didn’t do what your gut was telling you

dbronaldo December 9 at 1:00 am

here here dino,
the gut knows best .

philman71 December 9 at 1:01 am

Absolutely. I still reckon I will go with my triple sub anyway, but I will leave it till then end of the week (even if Evra goes up by 0.1), and I have a few other thoughts in my head (such as Wes Brown for instance). Like the two of you, I have a general plan for the next 5 or so GWs, such as Bendtner, Lamps when Drogba goes, or perhaps Torres if he is back relatively injury free. You have to be flexible.

mendusa December 9 at 12:43 am

hey guys what does everyone think of these transfers

buy-sell
Dempsey-o’hara
bent-defoe
keogh-franco

mendusa December 9 at 12:43 am

or even sell-buy

philman71 December 9 at 12:53 am

Yes, I like the look of Franco at 5.0m. Thinking of bringing him in this GW, as either a 3rd striker in a 3-4-3, or as a good bench player in a 4-4-2. I alreadty have O’Hara as my 5th midfielder, and I think Bent/Sunderland have lost their potency at present. Defoe should continue to score well.

mendusa December 9 at 1:09 am

Thanks for the reply philman looking at your team v good team btw wondering why have ya the two stoke goalies??

philman71 December 9 at 1:12 am

Well, at the time of bringing in 2nd Stoke goalie, it was the only way I could afford to get Drogba in, and I thought that if Sorenson got injured etc, I would still get a keeper playin for me. Gonna bring Hart in next GW.

dbronaldo December 9 at 12:48 am

anyone here have carlos tevez on there minds for man city future fixtures?
he seems to be hitting some form

philman71 December 9 at 12:55 am

Possibly, but he does tend to play many games without scroing or assisting in previous games. However, as you say, he does seem to be hitting form along with Man City themselves.

dbronaldo December 9 at 12:59 am

just took a look at him, he got 58 points so far which is pretty alrite given that man city aint fired on all cylinders yet, and in his last 3 games (2 pl and 1 cc) he made massive difference againist liverpool, arsenal, chelsea

also adebayor is leaving soon so his place is guranteed.
he is definetly on my radar as my drogba downgrade option.

philman71 December 9 at 1:03 am

Yeah , Ade and Robinho going in Jan, and Santa Cruz not gettin much of a lookin. Mark Hughes promising him lots of starts. Don’t forget, the Arsenal game would not have been included in the 58 points either. I am almost tempted myself, hehe.

dbronaldo December 9 at 1:06 am

yep and i look on tevez with some admiration being united supporter, he was top notch and is bonus point magnet when on form.

and at his price he is a bargain given man city are trying to break into top 4 and may well yet. and he has a proven track record (haha sounds like a bandgwagon)

a caution would be man city potential to buy any striker in january

philman71 December 9 at 1:08 am

Good night all!!

Akers December 9 at 1:23 am

Transferred Owen in this evening and expected to rise in the rankings, but incredibly moved down the FFS league. Some great scores out there.
