Frank Lampard will miss Chelsea’s trip to Wolves this weekend with a virus. As reported by Greek Fan’s tweet earlier, Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti broke the news in this morning’s press conference.

The Chelsea boss is predicting that Lampard will make a return for the Champions League tie with Inter in midweek but the midfielder will play no part at Molineux.

Lampard’s absence will likely see another start for Joe Cole, with Deco also ruled out. Ancelotti also seems set to go with Ballack and Mikel in midfield, with Malouda or Kalou competing for a start on the left.

This setback will be significant for Lampard owners. Chelsea will miss gameweek 29 due to to the FA Cup programme, so many will be considering using this opportunity to get rid with a straight swap with Arsenal’s Fabregas the likely option of choice.

  • Cheers for the replies lads. I wasn't really considering getting in Ba for the next GW but at his price he does look… »
  • Aggy to Roon in gw28 for me, bar mishaps. »
  • Possibly a good week to do that both to score coupon that Helen Chamberlain advertises :) »
  • I'd consider either Rooney or Aguero... not RVP... if you have all 3 of them and it's this week you're talking about… »
  • I'm tempted to swear at you ;) McC was rubbish tonight, like he was a reserve player in the 1st team for the 1st time… »
  • McClean at the moment for me, although if Sess is out and he is knackered from 120 mins today I may switch. »
  • not right now...wait for a dip in form for at least 2 weeks (my guess would be roonpig.com) »
  • Yep 11/10 is the shortest price for a shutout but that still means its 4/6 or so for Newcastle to score so still more… »
  • Ba for sure, I think they'll score and he is nearly always involved if they do. »
  • I'm going with Ba, although the bookies think Spurs will keep a clean sheet. »
