Watchlist

The Watchlist- Martin Petrov

While a recent run of results has seen Bolton plummet to the bottom of the Premier League table, an upturn in their forthcoming fixtures offers hope. Though six straight defeats have left their opening day win at QPR a distant memory, the form of Martin Petrov has been the one shining light for Owen Coyle’s side.

The Bulgarian has been an ever-present in the Trotters side to date and, playing every minute of their campaign, has already notched up 4 assists- just one less than David Silva and more than the likes of Nani. Given that we’re just approaching Gameweek eight, this is a significant step up from the form of last season, where the Bulgarian managed a total of five and is indicative of his flourishing role in Bolton’s attacking play.

A total of 32 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points to date has seen Petrov cement his position as a viable mid-price option this term and is all the more impressive considering he’s faced five of last season’s top six from Gameweek two onwards. He’s also found the net, scoring a penalty in the absence of regular taker Kevin Davies in the 2-1 defeat by Norwich.

With a run of games that reads (wig, SUN, swa, STO, wba, EVE) kicking off as of this weekend, Petrov firmly establishes himself in our updated Watchlist rankings. His delivery from out wide- he’s third top for successful crosses this term- and set-piece duties only add to the appeal and it’s obvious that if Owen Coyle is to orchestrate a climb out of the drop zone, his left winger will be crucial to the Trotters’ fortunes.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Not worth a hit with Brown > BAE then? Would end up playing Simpson, just BAE looks good long term!

Its always tough when considering a hit for a defender imo. Long term its a goo dmove. but short term you need the spurs cleanie to at least break even providing Brown gets 2 points and BAE doesnt get a card/og ect. If you dont have any big plans for transfers then i'd wait but if you're eyeing up a transfer for next week already your better taking the hit sooner and benifiting from the points.

Suarez. I'm a biased owner but I think he will score more points than Klasnic and Sturridge (maybe not this week though).

Nani also got a brace in the last international, 6 days ago. Think he might have had an assist too but not sure.

I said this last night - It was a scottish team which boasted 8 out of 11 players playing in premiership, the best championship striker, stevie naismith (who could easily hold his own down south) and a goalkeeper who would walk into 15 of the teams in the premiership. Scotland werent bad, Spain are just too good. Silva looked better last night as he was playing with 7 players from barca and that's his style of football

Just read the post and replies on "Vidic to retire from International duty"
Players need an off season to recover. If you play 12 months out of a year your playing career will be shortened. Way too many games are being played by the top players. Chew em up and spit em out and make a boatload of cash is all FIFA and UEFA really cares about. Nothing patriotic about keeping footy's leaching hierarchy in their comfort zone. Players are the patsy's for for the governing bodies and really need to wise up.

anyone thinking about putting Taarabt as captain, i know he hasn't done much so far and he was subbed at half time in the last game but he scored for his country last week, might have some confidence back, home to a poor Blackburn team who r leaking allot of goals and traveled to the other side of the world during the break to play a friendly match, and Taarabt on pens and frees

    Current Team:

    Vorm, Krul
Bosingwa, Kompany, Warnock, Simpson, De Laet
Silva, Mata, Arteta, Dyer, Ben Arfa
    Rooney, Gabby, Ade

I'm wanting Liverpool coverage after the Man U game, could do any or all of the following:

    Arteta > Adam
    De Laet > Enrique
    Ade > Suarez

    thoughts?

Are there any other changes i should make that are more pressing?

how about waiting until after the united game then? But since Ade might be injured, I guess Suarez.

I think you have too much money in defense. At least for my taste.

I don't think Suarez in for Adebayor is worth a transfer; they'll likely score at a similar rate this season, to my thinking at least (both main strikers in attack-minded top 6 teams, on good form - Spurs are on better form though - and with a decent run of fixtures).

You'll want some Arsenal coverage so I'd keep Arteta, or maybe swap him for Ramsay.

De Laet is dead wood and Enrique is on good form so that's the transfer I'd go for out of those three next week. It'll eat into your spare cash though; maybe Kompany out for someone a bit cheaper (Assou-Ekotto? Phil Jones?) to reverse that since he comes at a real premium price.

    A) RVP/Ruddy replace Aguero/Given (the goalie move for money)

    B) RVP/Sturridge replace Aguero/Adebayor

    C) RVP/Suarez/Petrov replace Aguero/Adebayor/Arteta

    Have 2 freebies.

Given, Vorm -- Bosing, Brown, Simps, Gabbi ,Boyata -- Nani, Silva, Arteta, Moses, NDyer -- Roo, Agu, Ade

Villas fixtures get filthy soon and you'll be playing Vorm most weeks then anyway, so that move would appear to be the better one.

Law of averages says Norwich will keep a cleanie soon as well.

I'm happy benching him to be honest (I've no injury worries at the min). If I swap Roonpig I'll have 4.8m to upgrade Ferguson/De Laet next week.

      Rooney is season keeper.

And on Man Utd pens too. I think Rooney more likely to score this weekend out of those two.

Have I lost the PLOT?! (Wildcard is like a drug)

Quick feedback lads, por favor, What do you think of this team?? not a lot of points coming from the back…for the most part. BUT. Look at the midfield and strikers. Tell me that won’t make up for a mediocre defense:

    Vorm (Ruddy)
    Barnett NTaylor Tierney (JEnrique, Simpson)
    Mata Nani Silva Bale Dyer
    Sturridge RVP Rooney

    Thoughts??!

I need to kill Wes Brown or just get him out of my team which will leave me with 5.4mil. I am looking at Cahill - is that just madness? My back line is S Taylor, Kompany, Warnock and Shawcross. Enrique would also be a choice. Any thought?
