The Weekend Team News

Filed under: Team News - Posted by: johnfinlay

Eyes will be on glued on any reports coming out of Manchester as the derby edges closer. The good news for Roberto Mancini, Alex Ferguson and Fantasy managers is that both squads are almost fully-fit…

Elsewhere, there’s been no real headline-grabbing stories. Ramires, who has been catching the attention of many a Fantasy Manager, is touch and go for the show-down with Stoke. Connor Wickham looks set to get his first start up front for Sunderland as they take on Bolton. Whilst Arsene Wenger is without a fit right-back against Stoke.

Team News will continue to be updated until tomorrow’s deadline, so keep checking back for all the latest. Our Twitter feed churn out all the up-to-the-minute injury reports and club news.

Good for this team, but your defense needs upgrading. Next week is excellent for upgrading. I will do it.

I have Stiliyan Petrov (don’t ask why). Stick with him for home game against WBA or take a similarly-priced alternative? (Please suggest…)

Don’t have Rooney because he’s playing City. Is this a bad idea?

      Bob says:

Keep him for the game anyway and see how he does. Think hes playing a bit more attacking than last season I read in an interview and hes hoping to score more goals like in his Celtic days!

        isacki says:

Yeah 55 goals in 228 looked very attractive. A lot better than 6 in 165 lol. He seemed quite attacking against Man City surprisingly, so I guess we should expect even more against WBA. But can’t shake the feeling another 6.0er is going to make far more hay this GW.

So i’m still considering Arteta > Bale and then Bale > Ramsey in 2 weeks.

A 2 week punt for TOT vs bla and QPR. If i could afford vDV i’d get him, but i plan to swap to get Suarez in and swap him for Adebayor in 3 weeks so…

    What do you reckon?

Wouldn’t touch any Spurs mid besides VDV to be honest, don’t get consistent enough returns. Grab Ramsey now if he’s your eventual target.

I really don’t like Bale as a fantasy prospect this year, I’d probably just do Arteta>Ramsey. IMO that’s not even a sideways move.

        unoaime says:

Artetas managed more shots at goal than Ramsey in less games, that’s why i see it as sideways… it’s only really a move to free up money.

My reasoning behind Bale is that he’s ripped Salgado apart every time he’s come up against him.

I’m sure Salgado never came into his thinking. Besides Bale is due to cause problems, And he will be playing (hopefully serving up low hot ones to Ade) when VDV is on the bench marinating. Icing his calves and Hammy.

    Brown / Simpson / Bosingwa
    Sinclair / Cabaye / Nani / Petrov
    Rooney / Van Persie (c) / Suarez

Subs: Vorm / Kompany / Moses / Senderos

I can’t think of any obvious to do with this weeks transfer.

      isacki says:

Not entirely sure Simpson is going to play. I think Santon is being phased in to replace him, although I don’t follow Newcastle so treat this with caution. Senderos definitely needs to be shifted out as he’s not getting enough gametime. Had both but ditched them for those reasons.

Rest is good, great forwards and you managed to keep the mid potent.

      Manamongst says:

A whole bunch of possibly nothing in the midfield. I would be worried, I am saddled with the minimal touch getting Cabaye and I will say he has been disappointing as far as his offensive and set-piece involvement. That bastard Raylor is more involved offensively than the Frenchman.

Daniel - Glorious Frank, 350th game celebrated with hattrick says:

I was all set to bring Kompany for next GW onward, but with Mark stated on the podcast that he is expecting 2 CS’s in the next 8, so I am little bit concerned. So what do we think, is he is till good bet. Should I transfer him in? Or maybe save 1mil and bring Schawcross.

The fixtures are: WOL, qpr, NEW, liv, NOR, che, ARS, STK

How many CS’s do we see in near future for City?

I’ve got ShawX at the moment and I really like his chances for cleanies. I think City will still get maybe 3 or 4 cleanies, but at a whole 1 mil cheaper I’d say ShawX is the better bet.

On the other hand the more important news (who needs City CS’s :D )

Moses who is still waiting to have his chance with the Eagles said that his main aim was to work hard in training and become a top goal scorer like Cristiano Ronaldo.

“I’d like to up my goals tally — that’s something I’m working on. If you look at Cristiano Ronaldo, he has reached his level by training unbelievably hard.

“When it comes to the games, he gets out, what he puts in and scores goals. I need to be like that and this is why I’m training so hard,”said Moses.
