The Weekend Team News

Filed under: Team News - Posted by: johnfinlay

Arsene Wenger is without full-backs Kieran Gibbs and Carl Jenkinson as his side come up against Norwich. Johan Djourou and Andre Santos look likely to get the nod in the Gunners’ backline…

Cheik Tiote has been ruled out for Newcastle’s trip to Man City, who have Sergio Aguero fit and available after the international break. Mancini’s starting lineup is anyone’s guess, though, with many of their first-team involved heavily for their nations. Luis Suarez has shaken off a back injury and should start for Liverpool. Whilst Alex Ferguson has question marks over the fitness of Danny Welbeck.

As ever, Team News will continue to be updated throughout the day so keep checking back as more reports and press conferences come through. It’s also worth keeping an eye on our Twitter feed which links directly to the source.

is this true? I’ve only just bought him so I’m sure as hell playing him at home to blackburn. If he doesn’t even come close to scoring then here never ever will and Wigan are going down.

He is my captain for this week as I have no other players who I can choose for one reason or another.
        Rooney – playing in midfield
        RVP- early kick off
Silva – will he wont he never gets more than 7 points and probably wont start or wont finish
VDV – 75% fit and he only plays 60mins when 100%

And I am 114 points ahead in my work mini league

I’ve gotta say while I’ll be playing Moses and think your decision is ballsy, I captained SWP vs blackburn at home he returned a big nothing.

I’d also say SAF has stressed Rooney’s midfield excursion was due to injuries and now wellbecks you’ve got Rooney and RVP excellent captain choices. Yea VDV is too risky…

Is it worth doing Dunne -> P Jones for free tonight before the price rise, even if Jones doesn’t make it into my starting 11? 2nd question, should Jones make it into this starting 11 this week?

    Westwood
    Woodgate, Wilkinson, Brown
    Silva, VDV, Ramsey, Moses
    RVP, Aguero, Adebayor

    Subs: Ruddy, Sinclair, Dunne, Simpson

        IceMan DB says:

‘We have a problem with some players who played 2 full games and players like Zaba and Aguero who got here yesterday and are tired. This is the problem after an international break but no one’s injured so that’s the important thing’. Basically no where does he mention that he’s going to rest Aguero so I think i’m going to stick with him this week as he has played the least amount of minutes out of Balo and Dzeko.

    RM WCT?

    Vorm/Westwood

    Wilkinson, Simpson, McAuley, Enrique, BAE
    Silva, VdV, Lampard, Drenthe, Pilkington
    RVP, Dzeko, Ba

Could bring Jones in for Enrique, and BAE->Brown but i’ve had him since 5.0 and see him as a season keeper, had Ba for a while and not sure whether to take the profit now because his fixtures aren’t bad after City/Utd/Chelsea are out the way. Bendtner’s tempting :P

Basing the team around Silva/VdV/Lamps/RVP/Dzeko, if i need Rooney/Aguero i’ll have to downgrade/swap one of those..

Any advice, I keep fiddling things around when really I should leave well alone :P

      theotherguy says:

I personally don’t see the attraction of BAE – Sunderland have some great fixtures so would rather go for Brown and keep the 0.5m spare. I would also take out McAuley – you’re better off spending an extra 0.1m and getting Naylor IMO.

Other than that I think its lookin good. Ba’s a tough call… he could be this year’s Andy Carroll? Probably best to hold on for a little longer to see how Newcastle go with the big boys.

    Team:
