Saturday Surgery
Filed under: Matchday Surgery - Posted by: Andy
With just over an hour to go before the deadline, the Saturday Surgery opens for Fantasy Managers to stew on their last minute dilemmas…
Before those final few beeps buzz and usher in a new game week, we’ll need to assess our final options. From the Scout Picks to the Watchlist articles, via some tasty treats for our paying Members, there has been all sorts to pore over this last week. You haven’t got long to digest the lot if you’ve been trailing behind.
For some last minute cramming, get yourself into our Saturday Surgery chatroom. The “Pre-match Preamble” follows shortly.
Commenting is now closed for this post.
“City can go on as much as they like. That’s what you would expect, but the history of our club stands us aside. We don’t need to worry about that. I think we have a rich history, better than anyone, and it’ll take them a century to get to our level of history.”
Sir Alex Ferguson points to United's rich history in the light of City's title win

Hutton dressed as Lahm says:
He has gone for Rooney for me. I know Rooney has no form, but back up front, great fixtures, no CL to worry about so HAS to do well in the league, Young and Welbeck back, and hardly any rotation due to lack of strikers
Aguero has done ok for me but nothing amazing. Too many scoring options at City
December 10 at 10:49 am
JohnD says:
Good man Hutton, u giving the pig the armband as well?
December 10 at 10:42 am
Connor's Calling says:
So, anyone else going with Evans? My reasoning being that:
I don’t think SAF will play Jones at centre back, therefore he’s only really got Smalling as comp in the middle.
He’s cheap, so less annoying if he’s rotated
If he doesn’t start he’s less likely to come on as a sub than say Smalling
Make sense?
December 10 at 10:44 am
Hutton dressed as Lahm says:
If you have Jones/Smalling, then i think its a safe bet, but otherwise im not sure?
December 10 at 10:46 am
dieHai says:
Seems like you’re trying to hard to justify it, ergo not a good decision. I got Evans in a few backs, didn’t play a min, and promptly got rid last gameweek.
I’m now considering Smalling….
December 10 at 10:43 am
Hutton dressed as Lahm says:
Ok, im all set, just a couple of last decisions I need help with please…….
Westwood
Macauley/Jones/Naylor
Bale/Silva/Walters/Eagles/Brunt
RVP/Rooney
Vorm/Bendtner/Richards/Ward
(c) RVP or Rooney (have a feeling about Rooney this week)?
Vorm or Westwood (dont want t double up really?
Start Bendtner, Walters, Brunt or Eagles????
December 10 at 10:50 am
DT42 says:
I’ve got the Rooney feeling this week too. United usually good after a defeat and he will be under pressure to perform.
I think a gamble on Vorm is smart but not essential
Would definity play Benter over both Walters and Eagles, I’d put Eagles on the bench this week
December 10 at 10:52 am
denial says:
Yep, I fancy Rooney too this week for some reason. He was shite mid-week, but it’s got to turn some time surely + fixtures over Christmas are good.
December 10 at 10:47 am
denial says:
Well, I just did: Aguero & Hibbert out for Rooney & Evans.
Bit of a gamble, but hey, it’s nearly Christmas.
December 10 at 10:51 am

Hibbert has DGW coming soon

December 10 at 11:13 am

Me, and Richards too. Already used my transfer to bring in Bale for VDV. Two of my subs are defo out, so not looking good. Fingers crossed Bale and Richards both play *and* bag some points.

blokeman says:
Hello,
My team as it stands
Vorm
Baines, Kompany, Jones, Simpson
Bale, Silva, Walters
Yak, RVP, Suarez
Westwood/Moses/Shawcross/Ferguson
Do I start Moses, Shawcross or Simpson?
December 10 at 11:20 am
ronmaiden says:
I would say Shawcross as he is the only one at home BUT it is against Spurs who are in red hot form, maybe Moses in case he finally decides to do something
December 10 at 11:17 am
ronmaiden says:
Right my team is
Vorm
Enrique, R Taylor, McCauley and Jones
Bale, Silva, Sinclair
RVP, Suarez and sturridge
I am thinking of shippin gout Suarez and Moses for Nani/or adam and Welbeck/or ba and take a 4 point hit – what do people think? I reckon Suarez will notch today so might keep transfers for next week to see how his ban comes on
December 10 at 11:19 am
Fackinell says:
I’ve seen 300+ messages incorporating ‘Suarez will/must/should score/nothch/fire etc’ over the past weeks – same for Roonpig…..ALL WRONG
December 10 at 11:20 am
ronmaiden says:
I know what you mean, clinging on to it – he aint scored in 5 but then Welbeck hasn’t been playing so that leaves Ba who is going well
December 10 at 11:29 am
blokeman says:
Ba heads off to the AfCoN in the new year… I say hold Suarez for today and if he cops a ban (for flipping off at Fulham) then sell with confidence during the week.
Suarez is more likely to produce than Moses so I’d be moving the Latic on for Nani/Adam.
December 10 at 11:35 am
Fackinell says:
Suarex to Ba would be good and then you have options with cash to strengthen midfield or replace Stud depending on how he goes…
December 10 at 11:25 am
Zero000 says:
Should I choose Wes Brown (vs Blackburn) or Kompany (vs Chelsea)?
December 10 at 11:32 am
tezzaboy7 says:
Brown imo. more chance of a cleanie and both unlikely to feature attacking wise
