The ScoutCast – Episode Seventy Five – Quincy
Filed under: Fantasy Football Podcast - Posted by: G-G-Granville
We’ve had the ball in for an examination – we’ve screened it for fibres from Hatem Ben Arfa’s boots and we can now reveal that the results were inconclusive. The forensics proved nothing – Quincy has let us down.
As you may have guessed, last weekend’s events at the Sports Direct Arena and the Fantasy Premier League’s assist ruling provides the topic of discussion for this week’s ScoutCast. Wrapped around that, Mark and I throw in the usual regulars and I try my best to keep my chin up throughout, despite the widening mini-league gap.
Bring this week’s episode in for an examination via this link. Or stream the evidence from the handy player below.

Thanks ILF….
April 6 at 9:26 am
Gaz Downright says:
he took you quite literally
April 6 at 9:31 am
ILF St. Petersburg. The Zenit of European Football says:
Haha. Good morning Jafooli and Gaz.
April 6 at 8:52 am
nomar says:
Dempsey to Sess.
You can always get him back in GW35 and have him for the DGW.
Have as many productive players as you can for GW34 and worry about GW36 later.
Let’s be honest, most serious players will probably end up taking a hit to bring in extra DGW players in GW36 anyway so is not a major tragedy of you have to take a 4 pt hit that GW.
April 6 at 8:56 am
James says:
not sure if this was meant for me, but it kinda answers my question, thank!
should i make the move this week and start sess, or keep dempsey for one more week? i am inclined to keep
April 6 at 9:10 am
nomar says:
Next week.
April 6 at 8:53 am
Jafooli says:
Yaya (ars, WBA, nor, wol)
or
Siggy (NEW, qpr, BLA, bol)
for the next four GW’s?
April 6 at 8:55 am
Karmanya says:
Siggy
April 6 at 8:55 am
BOOM SHAKALAKA says:
Would you rather miss out on Cisse in GW33 or Walcott in GW33+34? Or would you get Cisse even for a hit?
April 6 at 9:01 am
China Mag says:
Walcott. Only take a hit for dave (GW33) if you can’t field 11 in GW34
April 6 at 9:16 am
Kerrazy says:
yea i got him in for a 4 point hit. cant really bare to lose out double haul digits on him when he score again. he’s an anytime scorer for me if the ball is in the box. so yeah
April 6 at 8:56 am
andres says:
What is better over gw33 to gw 36:
1 sess and ade
2 bendtner demps ( and get ade in gw36 for rooney)
Thx

Jinswick, are you around?
I was away for a while and was a little bit behind with the posts.
Can you look back at my suggestions for your team and tell me what you think?

The Giggs Boson says:
Morning all, hows my teams looking for this gameweek? Any changes?
Krul
Baines Evans Cahill
Valencia(vc) Dempsey Siggy Walcott
RVP Rooney(C) Cisse
Hart, Caulker, McClean, Kelly
April 6 at 8:59 am
James says:
nearly identical to mine! I have Bogdan instead of Krul, and Bale instead of Cisse.
Nice.
Would you start Krul ahead of Bogdan?
April 6 at 9:03 am
The Giggs Boson says:
That’s a tough call. I think both will concede. I’d play Bogdan if you have siggy, he tends to get a lot of save points.
April 6 at 9:00 am
ILF St. Petersburg. The Zenit of European Football says:
Looks pretty hot TGB. Good to go I reckon.
April 6 at 8:58 am
div says:
Which two would you bench from –
1. Vermaelen (already got Walcott & RVP playing)
2. Senderos
3. Raylor
4. Take a hit for Senderos or Raylor?
April 6 at 8:59 am
BOOM SHAKALAKA says:
Raylor and Senderos
April 6 at 9:00 am
Jafooli says:
Sendros & Raylor for sure, don’t take a hit for them…,,or vermaelen who will be an animal in City’s box this weekend..
April 6 at 9:03 am
div says:
Cheers folks, all the best for this weekend
April 6 at 9:05 am

2 and 3
April 6 at 9:05 am

Id play Verm and bench the other two!
April 6 at 8:59 am
jimski says:
The odd thing is even though I’m benching Ba this week, I’d quite like him to score well. Would put the cat amongst the pigeons if he outscored Cisse this week.
April 6 at 9:00 am
jimski says:
If Newc score that is – I’d rather they didn’t score at all, to be honest.
April 6 at 9:02 am
China Mag says:
Not really. Ba could easily outscore dave in a one off game. But over the season, Dave will score more. Unless we change formation.
April 6 at 8:59 am
Kuyt Dirkula says:
Lost at the bottom of the last page…
Morning all.
Could really use some advice this week…
I have Vorm, caulker and Siggy PLUS Krul, Simpson and Cisse.
Who would you play this week and why?
I’ve gone for Krul, Siggy and Cisse.
Thanks in advance
April 6 at 9:02 am
Kuyt Dirkula says:
After some careful though I’ve gone for;
Vorm, Simpson, Siggy and Cisse.
That should give me the best option cover…
April 6 at 9:06 am
CarelessGenius says:
Swansea more chance of cleanie so I’m doubling up….
April 6 at 9:08 am
Kuyt Dirkula says:
With Cisse’s form?
Wow!
April 6 at 9:11 am
CarelessGenius says:
I know. Just transferred him in but he’s got to stop sometime hasn’t he??
April 6 at 9:35 am
RaspingDrive says:
Swansea 0-2 Newcastle. They’ve got the game to beat Swans comfortably I think.
April 6 at 9:00 am
fatherted says:
Morning all. I wouldn’t usually post an RMT but I have a puzzle. Having been upwards of 100 points behind my mini league money leader I am down to just 19 pts. We have half of our squad the same.
Me
Vorm Sorenson
Verm Jevans Caulker Williamson Kelly
Tony V Bale Sir Clint McClean Walcott
Rooney RVP Suarez
Him Vorm Hilario
Kompany Jevans Caulker Raylor Kelly
Bale Sir Clint Siggy Young Myachi
Rooney RVP Ba
I am worried about his Myachi double DGW and I only have 9 players max for wk34
I was thinking about binning Sir Clint with his fixtures, covering Myachi (wk 35 onwards) and adding prob Jags for DGW instead of Kelly.
Any suggestion
Many thanks
April 6 at 9:06 am
McEwan says:
No point binning Dempsey for myachi as he also doesn’t play gw34. Also Dempsey is at home in gw35 and is quite likely to outscore Myachi. And Coyle has hinted at rotation, Ryo looks prime for some rest
April 6 at 9:13 am
fatherted says:
Tremendous rank btw. If you were me where would you tinker this week??? I have 2ft
April 6 at 9:00 am
bring_on _the_fantasy says:
I have Vorm in Goal.
Should i play Caulker and double up…….or play Simpson?
April 6 at 9:03 am
Kuyt Dirkula says:
I would go Vorm and Simpson – see my posts above

The Giggs Boson says:
Mark said they’ll be about midday i think.
April 6 at 9:02 am
Jafooli says:
Anyone else without Chelsea, City and Liverpool cover? Seems bonkers, but nothing stands out in those teams, they’ve all got problems (rotation and fixture pile up, rotation and form, shyte respectively)….
April 6 at 9:04 am
Ryan says:
Things will change in the next couple of weeks. It wouldn’t surprise me to see these teams start performing in time for the DGW’s etc. Citeh may even beat Arsenal this weekend
April 6 at 9:07 am
Jafooli says:
Agreed, but until they do…….difficult to second guess.
Should I do Yaya to Siggy? really want to do it but won’t help in GW34 (currently can only field 9)…
April 6 at 9:15 am
Ryan says:
Yes Siggy is a must but consider getting rid of a blank GW player first before Yaya
April 6 at 9:18 am
Jafooli says:
I know, but I don’t know who for…there is only Bale in m/f that week not playing!!
April 6 at 9:05 am
Kuyt Dirkula says:
Yep – me.
Vorm, Krul
Simpson, Caulker, Jevans, Verm, BAE
Bale, Valencia, Siggy, See, Walcott
Roon, RVP, Cisse.
Not a Chelsea, Citeh or Pool Player amongst them.
April 6 at 9:06 am
Kuyt Dirkula says:
*sess
April 6 at 9:09 am
Jafooli says:
You almost have exactly the team I want……really strong front seven and plenty of opitions in back seven…
April 6 at 9:12 am
Kuyt Dirkula says:
Thanks – I ditched Silva (bye bye old friend, sniff)) and Aguero ahead of the last GW to bring in Walcott and Cisse.
April 6 at 9:16 am
Jafooli says:
exactly the same as me. i currently look like:
Krul – Mignolet
Evans – BAE – Caulker – Cahill – Kelly
Valencia – Bale – Walcott – Yaya – McClean
Rooney – RVP – Cisse
Want Siggy and Sess, don’t think I want Yaya & McClean (although this is a massive side ways move)
Kelly also needs to go for Baines prior to GW36 (have the cash)…
Shall I do Yaya to Siggy this week?
April 6 at 9:09 am
jkisthe1 says:
ok, good to go folks?
De Gea
Evans, Skrtel, Verm
Siggy (vc), Bale, Dempsey, Theo
Yak, Rooney (c) RvP
Mingolet, McClean, Caulker, Santon
I can’t help but think I should starr McClean, but for who? I think Newcastle and City will score, so I picked Verm on the basis of his goal threat.

Zep Guardiola - The secret to finishing bottom is losing. says:
I’d bench Clint ’2pts away’ Dempsey for McClean…
I’d also give the VC to RVP…
April 6 at 9:09 am
SMOOTH says:
who to bench of my front 8
siggy bale dempsey valencia walcott
ade rvp rooney
April 6 at 9:12 am
Jafooli says:
Ade or Dempsey……….flick a coin I reckon
April 6 at 9:12 am
mdm says:
siggi imo
April 6 at 9:14 am
Zep Guardiola - The secret to finishing bottom is losing. says:
Dempsey…
April 6 at 9:10 am
Sporting Abeergut says:
i have an FT floating around that will, cummulatively speaking, cause issues in GW34 and be lost:
Verm > Baines this week in preparation for the DGW.
(my DEF for this week is JEvans, Caulker, McAuley).
April 6 at 9:12 am
jkisthe1 says:
if you do that change will it affect how many you can get out in 34?
April 6 at 9:19 am
Sporting Abeergut says:
then i’ll have 10 for 34 instead of 11.
April 6 at 9:16 am
Ryan says:
I have this issue too but it won’t occur till GW35/36. I’m sure a new pressing transfer option will reveal itself by then
April 6 at 9:27 am
Jafooli says:
This is so true…..for once so many of us have the luxury of making a transfer we don’t really need to make. I reckon it’s worth keeping transfers for injuries/rotaion etc. We have six days of football coming up, each team playing twice….there will be issues for sure…
April 6 at 9:12 am
Omar Little says:
Morning all, Anyone care to suggest any transfers for me?
I’m massively hungover with 3 kids running around and my
brain just not working for this G.W 34-36 thing
If no one has any suggestions I’ll probably do Silva to Sess.
Vorm / Krull
Caulker / Evans / Simpson / Cahill / Enrique
Silva / Sigg / Bale / Ryo / Young
Suarez / Van P / Odem
Thanks.
April 6 at 9:15 am
CarelessGenius says:
Get silva or young out…..Valencia in.
April 6 at 9:15 am
China Mag says:
I would take a hit to downgrade silva and get rooney in.
April 6 at 9:17 am
nzsheep says:
regardless of 34 – 36 Valencia should perhaps get in there
April 6 at 9:13 am
CarelessGenius says:
If in doubt, go for Home team players?
McClean over Bale?
Caulker over Simps?
Vorm over Krul?
April 6 at 9:19 am
Menly says:
No
Yes
Yes
Although it may be a good idea to spread the load and play Caulker and Krul
April 6 at 9:25 am
My two cents says:
Bale over McClean. Bale looking really lively and I think spurs will win that one
April 6 at 9:13 am
Jafooli says:
Okay, this weeks free transfer (which i was going to save) is about to be spent on Yaya to Siggy. Does that make sense?
April 6 at 9:15 am
nzsheep says:
Keep Siggy until DGW!
April 6 at 9:14 am
nzsheep says:
Feeling sketchy about Doni so dont know about Liverpool D. Currently opting for Skrtel, Evans and Verm.
Bench of Moses, Enrique, Lescott in that order, any thoughts?
April 6 at 9:19 am
My two cents says:
I would put Enrique ahead of Moses. I am playing him with Moses behind Caulker
April 6 at 9:22 am
nzsheep says:
Cheers for that
April 6 at 9:16 am
jkisthe1 says:
Crouvh for DGW anyone? 2 home games followed by qpr and BOL?
April 6 at 9:17 am
Menly says:
Takes up that third striker slot
April 6 at 9:19 am
jkisthe1 says:
of course it does, that’s the idea. There are very few strikers other than Ade who have a DGW and then good fixtures after it. Only Crouch and Jelavic really.
April 6 at 9:22 am
Menly says:
Id much rather have Cisse for his form
April 6 at 9:19 am
The Giggs Boson says:
He might be a nice differential. But RVP Rooney Ade and Cisse are already battling for the 3 spots. He’s not prolific enough to make the cut.
April 6 at 9:20 am
TorresMagic™ (BENFICA) - Click link for FPL Open 3rd Round & Elite 64 1st Round draw. says:
Seems a waste. Would you play him before GW36?
April 6 at 9:24 am
jkisthe1 says:
not he’d come in in 36.
Could just get Jellyfish
Getting him in gives me the option to go Huth and VdV or Kaboul and Lampard.
April 6 at 9:32 am
TorresMagic™ (BENFICA) - Click link for FPL Open 3rd Round & Elite 64 1st Round draw. says:
No point worrying about him now.
April 6 at 9:16 am
Menly says:
Morning lads! Does anyone know what time the Man United press conference will be?
April 6 at 9:25 am
Kerrazy says:
is it about Young again ?
April 6 at 9:32 am
Menly says:
Oh yes it is Kerrazy… oh yes it is
I’ve kept him so I’m pretty scared!
April 6 at 9:17 am
mannequin says:
Anybody getting Torres in for RVP or Rooney?
April 6 at 9:19 am
nzsheep says:
Cup commitments cloud matters. Maybe for DGW
April 6 at 9:21 am
keith says:
China Mag what is the latest news on likely Toon defence, is Perch out as well now? Was planning to play Mignolet over Krull but if defence is in tatters maybe Krull will get more save points.
April 6 at 9:22 am
jinswick says:
Rightyo, sorry for the long post but I’m down to these 2 options now – if anyone could let me know which they think is best and why it might help me decide what to do this week! Thanks!!
CURRENT SQUAD
Migs, Bogdan
Kompany, Skrtel, JEvans, Caulker, Shotton
Dempsey, Walcott, Valencia, Siggy, Surman
RVP, Rooney, Suarez
Bank 1.8m, 2 freebies
PLAN A
GW32: Shotton -> Turner/Rangel
GW33: Dempsey & Suarez -> Bale & P Cisse
GW34: Surman -> Sess
GW35: Save
GW36: Kompany, Valencia & Rooney -> Baines, Mata & Adebayor (4 point hit)
PLAN B
GW32: Shotton -> Kaboul
GW33: Dempsey & Suarez -> Bale & Bendtner
GW34: Surman -> Sess
GW35: Save
GW36: Kompany, Valencia & Rooney -> Baines, Mata & Adebayor (4 point hit)
Basically comes down to Kaboul & Bendy (A) or Turner/Rangel & P Cisse (B)
April 6 at 9:24 am
SuperMario says:
Very close, tossing a coin really…
April 6 at 9:25 am
keith says:
B
April 6 at 9:29 am
Ryan says:
Have you figured out who you would end up benching between now and GW36. This is the key especially for the midfield and attack.
April 6 at 9:33 am
jinswick says:
Surman for GW32 and GW33
The 4DGWers in GW34
GW35 is tricky, one of Walcott/Sess/Valencia/Siggy
Walcott for GW36
April 6 at 9:45 am
Ryan says:
If you end up benching Sess then save the GW34 transfer as he wouldn’t be worth it in the end.
April 6 at 9:22 am
SuperMario says:
Would you save the transfer this week and is formation correct??
Migs
Enrique – Evans – Baines
Miyachi – Dempsey – Sigurdsson – Valencia (vc)
Rooney (c) – Suarez – RVP
Schwartzer – McAuley – Ream – Morisson
April 6 at 9:22 am
Sporting Abeergut says:
morning all, last Name & Shame of the week before i leave the house and it all goes tits up:
Mig
JEvans, Verm, McAuley
Siggy, Bale, Valencia, Demps
RvP, Rooney, PCisse
Krul, McClean, Caulker, BAE
some open issues:
Krul or Mig?
Verm or Caulker?
Demps or Mata/Walcott?
much appreciated folks.
April 6 at 9:27 am
Hay Number 2_I have cracked the DGW....I think! says:
Verm over BAE?!?!?! Not for me personally. I would have thought that Spurs are going to concede less against Sunderland than Arsenal against City…..Irrespective of who is home.
April 6 at 9:30 am
Gaz Downright says:
Spurs will concede. Long standing tradition.
Verm will probably score though. Forward in disguise.
April 6 at 9:27 am
keith says:
Have same GK dilemma Perhaps Krull may rack up more save points than Mig given problems in Toon defence?
April 6 at 9:27 am
Jukesy says:
Krul (Siggy likely to be involved in Swansea goal so less of a blow)
Verm (I think Newcastle will score, City at home isn’t as bad a fixture as it may have been before)
Dempsey (Still think Fulham can grab some goals against Bolton, even if they are away)
April 6 at 9:29 am
Gaz Downright says:
cointoss
verm edge it on goal threat
walcott
April 6 at 9:24 am
Jafooli says:
Okay smart people, my poor little brain is about to go pop. Should I do Yaya to Siggy for free today?
Krul – Mignolet
Evans – BAE – Caulker – Cahill – Kelly
Valencia – Bale – Walcott – Yaya – McClean
Rooney – RVP – Cisse
First to three wins and many thanks in advance..
April 6 at 9:27 am
Sporting Abeergut says:
yes.
April 6 at 9:28 am
Jukesy says:
ya
