The ScoutCast – Episode Seventy Six – Preparation D

Hitting the airwaves early this week, the ScoutCast makes a return to the fray with preparations for the double fixtures still using up our headspace. Mark and I rinse through the latest permutations of Gameweek 36, almost exhausted by the tactical nuances on offer. It’s almost too much for a Tuesday afternoon.

Of course, the podcast regulars rear their head and I do my upmost to keep my chin up despite the mini-league gap: Mark tries desperately not to gloat and fails as always. You never know – maybe all those eggs he’s put in the basket of Gameweek 36 are destined to be scrambled.

Breaking News : Everton are appealing against the Young dive for a penalty they are going to give away at Old Trafford at the weekend.

Rooney will score guys, don't knee jerk! 😉

This stage of the season it is as much about the competition. My mini league opponent has Rooney/RVP/Tevez so I have to cover the City exposure. I'm keeping Cisse (he has HBA) so RVP has had to go.

Yea for some reason I think people are hyping up the Man City game too much. Like yes they probably will do well, but how many times have we all over-anticipated major hauls and come out of the GW with 2-pointers and such. Many, including myself brought in Sess last week hoping that he would deliver against an off form Villa. Lo and behold a 3-pointer. Guess we don't really know what to expect except just speculate the most probable outcome

Indeed. I'm going into the gameweek without any Man City strikers, but truth be told I'm bricking it. 🙁

I do expect Man City to score a few goals though tbh, but Tevez and Aguero aren't guaranteed to feature heavily in the points. It's gonna be a tough game to watch and I'm sure I will need some new underwear come the final whistle.

Yea I have no City Coverage anymore. Shipped Silva a month or two ago for Walcott and has been a great move. Then did Richards to Kaboul. Think I'll remain City-less but thinking of doing Sess --> Yaya in the final GW just as a safety precaution

Well yeah it was a tongue in cheek comment anyway, but there is a massive gap between Barca and Chelsea just like there is a massive gap between Man City and Wolves.

As much as I wouldn't put any money on Wolves, I wouldn't be entirely surprised if they pulled something off.

Fantastic debates going on regarding rooney/rvp to tevez/aguero,my own take is that i currently only have 3 dgwk at the moment ,so to enable me to have 7 dgwk im having to stick this week and hope the argies keep quiet, also i have 3 citeh ,komp ,richards, and silva so it would also entail a 4 pt hit to get a city striker in ,so this week rooneyEVE and rvp/CHE(c) and will have to do and next week
    richards to cole
    caulker to bae
    valencia to bale
    rooney to adebayor
    for an 8 pointer
surely wolves wont score against city this week ,should be 12 points in the bag....

Already used 1 FT to do Rooney to Aguero and I have one more. My frontline now is:

Siggy - Valencia - Walcot - Miyaichi (Sess)
    Aguero (c) - RvP - Adebayor

And I have 2.8 in the bank.
So, what to do more to improve team (I am chasing 34 pts lead)

A - Buy Dempsey for somebody (guy I chase dont have him)
B - Buy Bale for somebody (he have him)
C - Walcot, Miyaichi TO Dempsey, Bale for -4 hit
    D - Something else

My reasoning by the way is based on his being rested at Blackburn in the league when they had a league game a few days before that and the FA Cup semi-final a few days after it. Similar sort of schedule for the DGW and FA Cup final. I'll reckon he'll play the first game against Norwich but miss the 2nd game against Fulham.

Yeah thats pretty much what I thought too. I was hoping that someone might have the opinion that Dalglish would focus on beating Everton to 7th place in the league, b ut I suppose the FA cup will be his main priority.

His not worth investing in. Much better value in other players. Siggy/McClean may score more in 1 game than Gerrard in 2.

Okay many thanks in advance, who to bench this week from:

Sessegnon - Ben Arfa - Valencia - Siggy - Walcott

    RVP - Adebayor - Rooney

Currently have Valencia on the bench because I fear either a Nani appearance or a blank due to Everton defence.

Selling him next week for Bale. Would've done it this week but used my transfer and not planning on taking a hit. Even if I brought in Bale this week I'd still be in the same pickle, if not worse.
