Moneyball – Jason Puncheon

A successful 2011/12 promotion campaign saw Southampton rack up the goals as Nigel Adkins’ side finished second in the npower Championship. Having found the net 85 times last term, the Saints immediately placed Fantasy managers on alert and on the lookout for new blood for their squads. The most obvious and popular pick was Rickie Lambert who notched 25 goals in the Championship, while Adam Lallana and new arrivals Jay Rodriguez and later Gaston Ramirez have also been touted as potential Fantasy options. Even Morgan Schneiderlin – who had just two goals in almost 150 appearances coming into the season – has received some attention after his goal against Man United in Gameweek three.

Nothing wrong with getting Sterling -- low price/risk and he seems to be playing very well lately.

I am wondering the same. I have Tevez, Berba and RVP. Right now it looks like only RvP on top. I can´t see Tevez playing after getting 120 minutes in this week and Aguero back.

So I am wondering if Kaca is better than Tevez. I don´t want to get a ten minute Tevez one pointer...

Evenin chaps! Just logged into my team for the 1st time since sunday. It look like a car crash! Federici, Ridgewell, Berbatov & Cuellar..

Berbatov -> Flether a no brainer? My squad is

    Jaask/Fed
    Cuellar Hangeland Baines Ridgewell Demel
    Hazard Pienaar Ryo Yaya Michu
    RVP Tevez Berba

    Thoughts?

I think Berbs is way, way better than Fletch and (see discussion on previous page) he might well be back for the next game. I'd say it's a bit hasty to ditch him now.

In fairness it's got as much grounds to it as all the "Tevez played 120 mins midweek so will definitely be rested"

I'm sure he won't play 3 x 90 minutes, but being left out of the internationals certainly won't do his PL gametime any harm at all.

I kind of agree with that, but I think Newcastle are not nearly as good as last season, Sunderland away is a very tough fixture and ManU are bound to finally grab that typical 0-1 or 0-2 win somewhere.

BTW I rate Ba, but I also rate Fletcher and I don't think Ba's fixtures are much better tbh. I also don't think that Fletcher was lucky or anything, IMO he's pure class and Sunderland have one of the best wing combos in entire Premier league (McClean - AJ). So AJ back could just improve his chances. And finally - Sess will come good again, it's just a matter of time and again, this will just improve Fletcher's chances to do well.

Yeah that's always a problem, considering short term fixtures vs long term fixtures. I was tempted to get Ba in last week and it would indeed slightly improve my points, since I captained HBA, however owning HBA is what made me not get Ba in at the end 🙂 Just can't justify having 2 Toon up front with current fixtures.

To everyone getting Fletcher -- aren't you a little worried about getting him now before city away, toon at home, and stoke away? Yes, good fixture this week, but I think it's going to be tough keeping him if he struggles through that stretch. Not saying it's wrong, but just curious what your thoughts are on it.

I need some input on my team.

I start the game on GW2, and my current lineup are:

    GK: Vorm, Davis
DF: Ridgewell, Jenkinson, Baines, Reid, Cuellar
MF: Hazard, McClean, Michu, Santi Cazorla, Ben Arfa
ST: Le Fondre, Fletcher, Van Persie

Currently I have collected 253 point and here are my point break up:

    GW2: 71 point
    GW3: 78 point
    GW4: 40 point
    GW5: 64 point

Total transfer only 2 right now:

    GW3: Nasri > Ben Arfa
    GW4: Petric > Fletcher

Currently I have 2 free transfer, who should I transfer into my team. Any suggest might help. Thanks.

Would have been better to stop writing at Van Persie. The rest is kind of irrelevant.

Anyway, Le Fondre is your biggest problem (as I'm sure you know). Lambert is your easiest fix. If you need cash for that, maybe downgrade McClean to Sterling and play 3-4-3. Sunderland aren't creating much at the moment.

He just never seems to care about the Ryder Cup. I like watching him disappoint the American fans again and again.

I've been 100% out of the loop all week. Berba, Ridgewell look unlikely to play and I was just wondering is Tevez now a doubt to start after playing midweek. My team looks like a car crash at the minute but these are normally the weeks when things seem to go well strangely..

What seems to be the most popular transfers this week?

0.0 in the bank means I'd need Berb to drop twice to get him back in as I'd be selling for 7.1, or drop once and Lambert to rise twice.
So do I just play fecking Maloney at Sunderland and Everton ?

Hmm, I'd go Michu I think, he's still a massive threat even if he hasn't scored in the last couple of league games.

Michu is the percentage play, Guthrie is the punt.

I'm playing Begovic too, so it's the classic hedge your bets vs all or nothing dilemma... which normally results in you playing them both, the GK losing his clean sheet and your attacker having no part in it!

This one is easy. Begovic over Vorm for sure.

My combo is much more troubling, but I'm most likely playing Jaask over Foster.
