The ScoutCast – Episode Eighty Three – Kids

The latest episode, created mid-afternoon today, was not recorded amidst a playground, although, at times, the background noise and smutty innuendo would suggest as much.

While the fruit of our loins play merrily in adjacent rooms, Granville and I retire to find some quiet and systematically pull apart another week of Fantasy football with all the usual regulars thrown in. Granville has a 22-point lead to show for his efforts, while I’m doing all I can to remain calm after what can best be described as a false start. The green arrows are coming. Surely they’re coming?

    Absolutely sweating on this midfield:

    Yaya, Hazard, Michu, Cazorla, Fellaini

    Only 4 can start, though,

    BUT WHO?!?!?! I CAN'T SLEEP.

I think that Baines is more "essential" than RVP. But if you do want both, you could downgrade one of your mids to somebody who rotates with sterling. Otherwise you will have weekly benching dilemnas, as you will want sterling to play his good fixtures

But how many points is 0.2m worth? Saylor and Santon will get the same CS points and have miles more attacking points potential. Saylor looks pretty injury prone at the moment though, so I would probably go for santon.

I'm not just taking into account his inherent value to Newcastle, also the knock on effect it would have to my FPL team...

i think its a good value bet at 2.10. the game i worry about most is swansea reading tbh. i know reading are shite but so swansea have been in their last 3-4 games. swansea defence has been shaky and reading can score goals. not sure about that one

Teams or A v B scenario's will always look better on paper. The facts are no 1 knows and will be a timing thing more then anything. The big thing is RVP is always a captain option & as someone said earlier, what do you do when 40% of players Cap RVP for a big haul..... you have to weigh things up and go with the gut. I removed RVP this week, this w/end is going to be really nervy!

That does make things a bit easier I would say to get rid of RVP, however I still believe RVP is the stronger Cap option as he is less liekly to be rotated, even though Kun should start most weeks.

Silva and bale. santi i think though is the ultimate arsenal coverage. so I'd prefer santi, bale, aguero. or in a couple of weeks potentially santi, silva, adebayor.

I've oddly enough have had torres as chelsea coverage as he hasn't rotated yet, and he's repaid me with 35 points - only 2 less than RVP.

It's a tough call at the moment and yes, timing is crucial.

Is money an issue? As in, are you thinking about upgrading anyone in your mid / def?

Could you consider Tevez to Suarez or Lambert and then possibly bring in Silva? Even Podolski to Lambert and Dyer to Cazorla?

Arsenal's fixtures look tasty so I want some midfield action (shipping out Dyer).

My head says Cazorla, but Gervinho playing so forward is tempting.

I don't really rate Gervinho, and figure Cazorla to have more influence. I'd also expect he'll bring in decent assists and BPs over the coming weeks.

Santi is the better option, right?

SANTI. Not gervinho. If you look at the stats on gervinho hes been lucky. but I actually watched a few full games and he's not just been lucky but honestly been one of the worst players on the field.

Yeah I totally agree with you both. Gervinho has been lucky, and perhaps Cazorla's been unlucky (to not have converted more shots on goal)?

Thanks, I'll stick with my original decision.

But I would say that was the wrong decision. Attacking midfielder away against a team that just avoided relegation, v a wide midfielder coming back from injury against Arsenal. So you were kicking yourself.

Although I would love to see him at left back (where he was playing last night), with Santon at right back, both providing the width to allow us to play a narrow 4-4-2 diamond. Similar to what man utd (apparently) played the other night. In this formation, ferguson would effectively be a reverse OOP, so not really much good to us lot!!

this is true. I also just noticed Gerrard and Suarez in there, that's a bit much IMO, too many benching issues here. I'd be tempted to dump Gerrard to Sterling/Kebe/Puncheon, and bench them, and use the cash to upgrade Barnett and Fabio(oh and Torres)

maybe, WR has both, but he has a budget option in midfield. But if you look at that front 8, it will cause a benching issue most weeks.

ah I see no United, City, Arsenal or Chelsea players.

I;d still lose Gerrard to one of budget options I listed. i'd still dump Torres to Ba/Jelly, then you can swtih Fabio and Barnet out to the likes of Huth, Saylor (if fit) Vertonghen, Ridgewell.
