The ScoutCast – Episode Eighty Three – Kids

The latest episode, created mid-afternoon today, was not recorded amidst a playground, although, at times, the background noise and smutty innuendo would suggest as much.

While the fruit of our loins play merrily in adjacent rooms, Granville and I retire to find some quiet and systematically pull apart another week of Fantasy football with all the usual regulars thrown in. Granville has a 22-point lead to show for his efforts, while I’m doing all I can to remain calm after what can best be described as a false start. The green arrows are coming. Surely they’re coming?

Ok following on from my last question. Which would you choose?

    A: RVP and Fletch

    B: Aguero and Suarez

    Thanks!

    so captaincy choice this week

    a) Hazard
    B) Michu
    c) Ramirez
    d) Berba
    e) RvP
    f) Jelly

Also, start Rafa or Clyne? If Williams is out I will start both as that would mean a Tate start, and we all know where that will lead

I think it has to be a) or e). I know he has the tougher fixture, but I just feel I can rely on RVP a little more, plus MUN will be looking for a reaction after last w/e, and it looks like both NEW CBs are out.

      I'd start Clyne tbh...

From your options and looking at it from a somewhat negative point of view, I'd say RVP is the least likely to let you down...

Clybe or Rafa is tough one, I think both will concede, but Rafa may offer more chance of attacking returns

Rafa for attacking threat. Im afraid Clyne will concede. Even though i'm forced to start him this GW.

Vorm or Begovic in goal this week?

Liverpool usually wasteful at home and Begovic will make many saves but will he keep a cleanie?

Swansea defence hasn't been good lately but will Swansea keep Reading out?

I'm keeping bale and going with silva and bale. arsenal have a bunch of london derby's coming up (wh, QPR, FULL and TOTT) I find these london games are usually pretty tight. After all that clears you could drop silva for caz in gw 13 for his good run from 13-19 where there is only 1 london game. this way you get a great run with silva followed immediately by a great run from caz.

My thing is is that Gervinho is almost on the same amount of points and is significantly cheaper. I see Bale outscoring Cazorla this season by about 20 points +/- 10. I see Cazorla as more of a Modric-esque type player with just a bit more fantasy potential. Consistent assists and the odd goal here and there.

For me, I pretty much need consistency for my H2H league as I'm falling down the table so I'd definitely keep Cazorla with his consistent assists. Depends on what your objective is, I guess. Since you have both Cazorla and Gervinho, do you have the spares to upgrade Gervinho's spot to Bale?

            I don't have Gervinho.

            Current team is this:

            Foster, Bego
            Gibbs, Demel, Hughes, Baines, Cuellar
            Cazorla, Hazard, Michu, Guthrie, Morrison
            RVP, Jelavic, Lambert

I have 1 FT and was considering Cazorla--Bale seeing as he has the better fixture and I could pick up Gervinho later if he continued to do well as there's not much between the two arsenal men atm

I've got quite a few injuries, Chelsea touch fixtures, trying to spot the form players before they deliver...considering replacements for Michu, possible hazard or Torres...saving 2 transfers u til after the int'l break...

You're ranked 553 and you still need advice from us lot? 😆 I'd keep Michu for the next two more before dipping into the market for replacements. Yep, saving 2 FTs is actually a very good strategy to prepare what's coming after international break.

Grounderz, it's been a fortunate start so I'm enjoying it atm...self-imposed restrictions have helped - but can have the counter effect as well. Last season, ascended into top 3000 around December...only to descend into follow abyss...

Yep, definitely need Baines. He looks more and more like a season keeper now. I'm seeing a lot of Suarez love on here lately. Do you think he will go on with the form and get into the dream team? I'll have to see how he goes first. Could go drought again. 😆

Yeh it's a tough 1. Seems to have found form, and if you were ever going to ditch RVP now is the time with fixtures against him. Can re-assess after a few GW's to see how Suarez goes. Needed Baines though as u say!

Fletcher's move was definitely working. Bale > Hazard has been a failure since bringing him in on GW3. I took these hits to prepare for what's coming and I was reluctant to use my WC as I'm planning to do it either come December if I'm really desperate. Otherwise, I'm saving it up for a massive DGW.

Personally I do not fancy Podolski too much. But I shouldn't go without ARS attacking coverage either...Cazorla is my favourite and Gervinho might pay off(big punt)...Lambert has some great fixts coming up and he`s on penos and a lot of direct FK`s, plus SOU always score to any team (they remind me of NOR of last year a bit )...Might be a good transfer short term, but I would prefer sb like Berba instead of Lambert for the long run if you can afford him...

Mhhhh...Having a look at your team now..
Great Keeper`s selection (the best IMO)
                Great defensive line..
Like Tevez and Ba in attack ATM...

I guess you can save your transfer this week and get Berbs for Podolski and Cazorla for Hazard next... After the two juicy SWA fixts I would personally transform Dyer into Sterling (for the kind LIV fixts) and you might use the money to upgrade somewhere else....Just my thoughts....Good Luck Acqua..

I doubt it. Pardiola likes to play his cards close to his chest. I should know, as him clearly stating that barfa was going to miss the start of the season lead to marveaux stinking out my team!!

I would like to think that if both were going to miss out, then we would have rested one of williamson or perchinio last night. But the problem is we really don't have anyone else! Tavernier would have had to have played there, and thats a big ask for a young full back!

    Cech
    Baines Rafa Hangeland
    Hazard Michu Pienaar Sterling
    RVP Aguero Lambert

    Options are:
    A) RVP - "safe option" but toughest fixture
    B) Hazard - just as likely to get 2 as a big score
    C) Michu - ditto
    D) Aguero - if guaranteed a start, I'd go for him, but is he?
    E) Lambert - hmm, tempting, but risky
    F) Baines - doesn't convince me for this week

    Thoughts?

Aguero. Playing at home against a team that hasn't been offering much offensively he should deliver.

I have Hazard but based on the last few weeks there is absolutely no way I would stick the armband on him. I've gone for the relative safety of RVP. If Reading can stick 2 past Newcastle................

Big question marks against several of that lot: Suarez, Defoe, Fellaini, Gervinho, Jenkinson.

United coverage is a tricky one in my eyes. Rvp is too pricey and god knows what saf has in store for Rooney. Kagawa may be the safest bet at this point imo.

As for city, I've been squirrelling some coin for aguero for a while now, but as my strikers are performing ok I'm not so sure now!

Other than Aguero or RVP I really don't think its that much to worry about, to be honest with you.

I'm thinking of just going for Aguero as RVP too expensive and Utd not looking cohesive at all.

      not a good team.

gervinho No, getting a lot of press because of a few jammy goals but doesn't have the quality long term.
Ivanovic, not unless you already have him an bought at 6.5m, baines is a much better alternative.
Jenkinson No, his starting status is about to dry up with sagna returning.
      Defoe, risky with adebayor returning.
and foster begovic pair in goal is hard to beat at the moment. look at their rotation.
plus you have no man city or MU cover.
      start again.

Anyone ever tried lower league fantasy football before. As an Oxford fan, I kinda wish I'd known about this at the start of the season....

Asked this before but does anyone think I should do Fletcher > Lambert today? Obviously Lambert has the better fixture but I'd like to have 2FT going into the break...I'm torn between playing conservatively or going for a gamble to increase my score potentially...

I don't think it's worth it tbh, won't make a significant difference imo

Chances are slim that SUN score at MCI. Chances are even less that anyone from SUN gets bonus points.

I would take Lambert as he is playable every week but one from now through week 15 (I would probably not start him at WHM).

Another question is, does Fletcher > Lambert worth a hit?

      I'd keep Fletcher.

Man City defence is pourous so he has a good chance of scoring this weekend too.

Actually, I agree. Scratch whatever I said above about taking a hit for Lambert. 😆

So guys, thoughts on Caulker? Would really want to do Hange->Caulker, surely a CS is in the sights against Aston Villa at home, and Steven seems to have secured in the spot at center back.
