The ScoutCast – Episode Eighty Three – Kids

The latest episode, created mid-afternoon today, was not recorded amidst a playground, although, at times, the background noise and smutty innuendo would suggest as much.

While the fruit of our loins play merrily in adjacent rooms, Granville and I retire to find some quiet and systematically pull apart another week of Fantasy football with all the usual regulars thrown in. Granville has a 22-point lead to show for his efforts, while I’m doing all I can to remain calm after what can best be described as a false start. The green arrows are coming. Surely they’re coming?

      Yep, sounds good. If I were to bring in Aguero, RVP will have to go as I don't have enough to upgrade others... unless I downgrade the midfield area first, and then another FT the following week for Aguero.

    He's got a good remaining two or three fixtures so I'll see him out for now. Its not as if he's suddenly stopped being a threat, he remains to be large threat for opposing defences.

  That's a new look and potentially the coming up GW dream team. I quite like it, actually. Great keepers rotation. If I have the spares, I'll bring Baines in as he looks more and more like a season keeper now.

  Much money in defence (good imo) but not Baines, would swap Rafa or Cole to Baines.
  
  Hate 'em price is too much imo. Prefer Pienaar. Also exit plan with Michu in 2 weeks, maybe Yaya.

  Looks like an excellent WC team to me. Do it, if it'll cost you more than 8/12 to get it without WC.
  
  My only change would be Silva to Caz, get some Arsenal coverage, rather than double up on City.
  
  But suppose that's a matter of personal preference.

Morning folks.

According to ESPN, in his 25 minute came appearance last night, Suarez managed 5 shots, 3 of which his the target.

It's getting to the point where I think it'd be crazy to completely ignore him for 2 home game. The question is this - should we consider dumping Tevez, who looks set to get 60+ minutes, or roll the dice?

I know a lot of people aren't crazy about Suarez but you have to say that regardless of what's happened in the past, he's a rare commodity - a player who has a huge amount of goal threat and is 100% nailed on for his team.

I've got 2 free transfers personally and I'm waiting until after the international break for Tevez > Berbatov and perhaps Silva for Michu. I could live with delaying that for one week!

    I am lucky enough to have brought Bale is last week. My only other issue is Saylor being unfit but it's surely not worth transferring him to Simpson! I could also shift Guthrie but I'd rather be sure he's totally unownable before using a transfer.

  I watched game , he scored from FK , he played v well after coming on as sub.
  Honestly I've a dislike of the guy - but fantasy wise he looks explosive ,
  Fast , direct and selfish and if he Doesn't score either the keeper is saving it or he's just hit the woodwork.

Captain choice is hard this week! Exacerbated by how underwhelming everyone in my team was last gw.

The temptations:

Hazard - Norwich are having a tricky second season and failing to impress. Eden has the perfect opportunity to disprove his recent doubters.

Michu - has a similar opportunity. Reading are very poor at the back. However Swansea are going through their own tough patch at the moment.

Tevez - rested midweek, eminently capable, City lax at the back need to outscore Sunderland and need a win.

RVP - Utd likewise need to bounce back and need plenty o goals to compensate a lack of defensive solidity. The most prolific goalscorer in the league.

    It's logical. I just resent having him in my team. Think I'd resent it even more if I captained him, especially if he failed to deliver.

I know this has been debated a lot , but since I’m thinking of wc over break I’d like any opinions on dropping Rvp .
Put simply because of his price , there’s at least 5m to be saved by dropping down to Jelly / Ba / Fletch / Berbatov , No rotation , all nailed on for 90 mins when fit and the funds saved you can gain access to some more quality Mf / Df .
Surely your cumulative score say of 3 quality players eg Cole/ Pinnear/ Berbatov (20.4m) scores more than Clyne / Noble / Rvp (22,4) these are just typical examples and I even think you can still upgrade the first scenario or add it on elsewhere.
Admittedly he’s always a decent capt choice but we’ve already seen him rested/rotated IMO his current price is more suited to when he was at Arsenal and the team was built around him. Rvp at united should be valued at 12 m I believe.

  Had the same logic - did not own Rvp at all this season and doing fine thank you.
  Only in one gw it actually hurt not to have him when he scored 15 points, and then I had tevez with the exact same score.
  The ability to have ba, Suarez, hazard, bale and cazorla and michu, plus baines and another heavy hitter in defense, outweighs Rvp points IMO.
  On gw11, when fixtures get much better, we might have a rethink.

    I don’t disagree with what your saying in the slightest in fact all the above makes sense , and that’s my problem – ” trying to decide ” on Van in a wildcatd team or not ?
    I’ve been wc both ways and if I’m honest I’m slightly edging towards non -rvp team as it seems to have less filler if you get me , but I’m still not 100% there’s definatley a niggling doubt.

      Did you see my suggestion a couple of pages back about downgrading one of your mids to get baines? Sterling is neither a bench sitter, or somebody you can rely on for every game. The rest of your mids and forwards you would want to play every game, so you will have a problem when sterling has a sweet fixture. I would get a cheaper mid that rotates well with sterling, and then get baines.

    Also Suarez, if he's consistent for 2 more weeks, i'll probably get him in. Got burnt a lot last season with him so a little hesitant. But he is on my radar.

      you have to jump at early badwagons in fpl and i feel like suarez is the one
      
      -with amout of chanses he taking per game he will deliver in every game i think
      
      -great creativity behined him as well
      
      -rodgers style of play suit him
      
      i will probably C him most of the season

        Ya he's finding some form but i am a little hesitant still. Like i said, burnt last season. He scored a hat-trick vs. Norwich last season as well. But he is on the radar.

    In one of my WC drafts, the rotation worked out that Walters would only play home games. Looked pretty sweet. And would have given my jelavic captain last week! Grr
