The ScoutCast – Episode Eighty Four – Santigold

Out of his pajamas and back in the studio, Granville and I reconvene after another dull international break to resume ScoutCast duties.

Arsenal’s new playmaker dominates, with the pair of us coveting Santi Cazorla’s charms and competing for his affections, whilst, in the back of our minds, wondering if we’re being taken in.

Robin Van Persie also gets some oxygen – don’t worry, that’s not oxygen treatment – he’s just the subject of this week’s discussion as we chew the fat on the “essential” debate that appears to rage on as the Gamweek’s roll by. The regulars all find their place amongst the merriment, as heat is turned up on the mini-league and mini-game struggle between myself and Mancunian magic man.

Grab the fools gold via this link, or stream it now via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Noble (SOU) or Maloney (swa).

Maloney has produced more this season and even in light of laudrups comments the swans are still leaky

Noble has produce nothing but is on pens and corners and now with carroll back could see an upturn in fortunes

I think they're both good value - can see them both topping 100 points this season. But you only need one of them.

Ps if you are talking about rvp he has been rotated the same amount and played less minutes than tevez and the only reason he has more goals (less points tho) is because he has had a crack at southampton already. Utd are as bad as city for expensive player rotation imo

But Aguero and Balotelli have been injured, that's why Tevez has played as much as he has. There will almost certainly be more rotation at Citeh than at Utd.

I wouldn't say that berbil saf is the king of rotation and Rodney, valencia, young, plus more have been injured for utd so we don't know how much rotation utd will have when all are fit.

tevez was not even there last year and dzeko nd ballo never got much of a look in, now he is there i see mankini having more of a chance to rest kun nd not burn him out like last year.

Ps rooney was utds only man last year scoring 27 goals and he still only got 2830mins which is almost 6 game rest. Are you telling me rvp with his injury record is not going to get at least as much rest?

He was still the second highest player in the game by a fair margin.
And RVP hasn't been 'injured' for almost 2 years.

Yes jackoff my point was more to do with the likelihood of there being as much rotation at utd as city. It just grates on me when people make stoopid statements like the above.

Morning guys. I've not been on here much over the break so forgive me if this is a dumb question. But why is Jelavic so far down the captain's poll?

I've got him with the armband at the mo, but I've also got Bale, Hazard, Berba and RVP who are higher up the poll. I would have thought he was a better bet.

    What to do?

I stupidly did Fellaini to Silva for a hit before the International break. I was impatient but that's done now.

My new dilemma is; Do I now get Silva out for another hit? Damage is done now. Gerrard in for nice fixtures?

I wouldn't say you should expect something from Gorkss, that's a little optimistic. It all depends on how a team tries to play when they go to Anfield. IMO if Liverpool get one early it could be a big win.

      Not really.
Walcott had started only 1 game so far, yet Gervinho was not nailed on. He has Ramsey and Ox for competition for that RW spot and Giroud to contend with for the CF spot. So, I don't think this affects him much.

He's a nice to have. Everton have above average fixtures. He's a bit expensive, kind of depends on the rest of your team, if you are spending 28-30m on your forwards, and with those 3 heavy hitting mids, you prob wont be able to afford him. I always believe in spending around 35 mil max on my GK/Def combo...

Mata's on form, but Chelsea have some very difficult fixtures coming up. Pienaar is excellent value and I wouldn't get rid of him at all.

That should leave you with around 24-25 mil for your defenders, assuming a 9-9.5m rotation keeper system.

Would be a bit tough to get baines in - with that budget you'd have to run Baines and 4 cheapies (which is what I do) - just depends on what your current def setup is and how many moves you'd have to do.

Best way into Arsenals defence? Dont have enough dosh for Vermalen, Gibbs injured and Jenkinson running out of time. Mertersacker rotation risk? Anyone?

Jenkinson's safe for not far off the next month, it may need you to use a transfer later on but at least then Gibbs will be fit, you'll know if Mertesacker is a rotation risk (He will be) and if Sagna's got his place back, you can just switch over to him!

Considering losing Tevez for Giroud. Cazorla coming in too if Fellaini doesnt make it. Double Gunners too much? Alternatives? Not keen on Berbs, too many will have him.

I would leave Tevez where he is and just do the second move. Berbatov has 4.6% ownership by the way

Possibly. I really think Giroud could make something of it the coming weeks. Tevez might too, though, and i would have no City cover should i sell Tevez. Yeah 4,6% but alot of the people in my leagues have or will have him :p
