The ScoutCast – Episode Eighty Four – Santigold

Out of his pajamas and back in the studio, Granville and I reconvene after another dull international break to resume ScoutCast duties.

Arsenal’s new playmaker dominates, with the pair of us coveting Santi Cazorla’s charms and competing for his affections, whilst, in the back of our minds, wondering if we’re being taken in.

Robin Van Persie also gets some oxygen – don’t worry, that’s not oxygen treatment – he’s just the subject of this week’s discussion as we chew the fat on the “essential” debate that appears to rage on as the Gamweek’s roll by. The regulars all find their place amongst the merriment, as heat is turned up on the mini-league and mini-game struggle between myself and Mancunian magic man.

Grab the fools gold via this link, or stream it now via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Doesn't need a WC imo. Just do Gaston to Nolan this week (if you can afford it) and do Friedel>Begovic next week. No point in taking a hit for Begovic this week (unless you have 2FT's!)

          I wouldn't want either personally.
If I were going with City, outside Aguero (who I dont think is with the exta 3-4M over Ba/Berbstov) it would only be Nasri I think.

I just don't rate Yaya as a good FPL player, never have.
As for Kompany, I just don't see him justifying being 7.3M.

"There's a little piece of cartilage floating in his knee, so we have to operate that in any case, and that can be three or four weeks.

"But if there is damage to his cruciate ligament, for example, it will take a lot longer.

Hughes/Cuellar/Gorkks seems perfect atm (Have Bego coverage for STO).

With I had some Newcastle coverage but there's too much rotation IMO.

He is a young player and there for the long term. Chelsea have started the season really well and consistency at the back is obviously something RDM wants to keep. There has been no need as yet to accommodate Azpilcueta into the team so he will just need to wait for his opportunity the way Cahill has.

Putting some of my thoughts out there..would love some opinions!
    Berbatov:
    Focal point of Fulham’s attack
    Penalty taker
    Proven in the Premier League
    Deadly Finisher
    Main source of Fulham’s goals
Plays for a team which is good at home, not the same away

    Giroud:
Plays for a top 4 team
    Great fixtures coming up
Slight doubt regarding his starting position
Has not done much apart from a tap in
Arsenal have plenty of other goal scorers

I will captain whoever I get in!!

    Cheers!

Worth bringing in Ben Arfa for a hit this week for Ramirez, not convinced he will score well away from home but want him from next week and would play instead of Kebe.

    Current team is

    Foster
    Baines, Rafael, Davies
    Cazorla, Bale, Sterling, Kebe
    RVP, Aguero, Berbatov

    Begovic, Demel, Gorks, Ramirez

Ideally want to bring in Wilson for Davies next week

I'm tempted to bring in Mertesacker this week for Cashley... Disregarding rotation later on, is it worth it when I already have Baines, Cuellar, Hughes and Demel to choose 3 out of this GW?

Is Kosc really out? My worry in my head about Santos would be that Verm would play left back and Mert and Kosc in the centre...but this makes it almost certain Santos will start right?

LB in the Kolarov "don't really like to defend, do like to take a FK from time to time" mold.

Probably only going to get this week though.

Morning all, been away from FPL for a while (new baby). I have 2 FT's this week so need to use one, not sure how to?

    Begovic, Jaask,
    S. Taylor, Baines, Nelsen, Demel, Clyne
    Hazard, Santi, Pienaar, Michu,
    Tevez, RVP, Lambert

    Thinking maybe

    Hazard > Bale
Or maybe, Hazard & Clyne > Bale & Rafeal

    Any other ideas?

Good team but you need Lord Leighton of Baines. Hazza > Cazza is a good move, long term. Maybe also Suarez > Berb to afford Gallas > Baines?

Wouldn't say "disarray", its looking ok. And FWIW Fed>Bego seems sensible since Fed is out for 3 months and Ramirez to Nolan also sensible

Second, not a lot wrong with that team, Hazard > Bale if you really want to, both are likely to grab big hauls. you might not want Michu after next week.

Nice team FB. Giroud (c) ballsy but could indeed pay off. I'm backing a big Arsenal haul too, but going Caz (c)!

RVP is 'safe' but Stoke don't get beat by 2 or 3, they are usually solid
