The ScoutCast – Episode Eighty Four – Santigold

Out of his pajamas and back in the studio, Granville and I reconvene after another dull international break to resume ScoutCast duties.

Arsenal’s new playmaker dominates, with the pair of us coveting Santi Cazorla’s charms and competing for his affections, whilst, in the back of our minds, wondering if we’re being taken in.

Robin Van Persie also gets some oxygen – don’t worry, that’s not oxygen treatment – he’s just the subject of this week’s discussion as we chew the fat on the “essential” debate that appears to rage on as the Gamweek’s roll by. The regulars all find their place amongst the merriment, as heat is turned up on the mini-league and mini-game struggle between myself and Mancunian magic man.

Grab the fools gold via this link, or stream it now via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    REPOST SHAME

Hmmm start to waiver on Giroud as (c), certainly is enough of a differential without the armband. Who would you captain out of this side?

    Foster
    Baines Rafael Cuellar
    HBA Cazorla Sterling Morrison
    RVP Giroud Aguero

    1st sub: Puncheon.

I've got a free ticket to the Norwich game so tempted to captain an Arsenal player so it doesn't hurt so much seeing them destroy Norwich.

You want to captain Giroud, you should do it. I don't think RVP is a good captaincy choice this week. I have both and I'm also girling out of giving Giroud the armband atm. Last weeks stats, combined with Norwich's weak defending stats, combined with the goal against Spain, combined with the less than 1% ownership...
Imagine the adulation if he were to score a hat-trick...

But it isn't really about the long term. It's about getting the points on the board. Now.

RVP has been going along steadily, while some others have been raking in the points. Over the season RVP will probably have the most points, I guess, but it's WHEN you have players that makes the difference.

    Berbatov:
    Focal point of Fulham’s attack
    Penalty taker
    Proven in the Premier League
    Deadly Finisher
    Main source of Fulham’s goals
Plays for a team which is good at home, not the same away

    Giroud:
Plays for a top 4 team
    Great fixtures coming up
Slight doubt regarding his starting position
Has not done much apart from a tap in
Arsenal have plenty of other goal scorers

I will captain whoever I get in!!

As you say though, Berbatov is the main man at Fulham and is on penalties.
I know Fulham aren't as good as Arsenal, but looking at my stats table ( 😎 ) Fulham are 5th behind Everton/Arsenal/City/United for big chances, first for shots on target and have scored the equal second most amount of goals this season.

Main problem I have with RVP this week is Stoke are looking a little tighter away from home than previous seasons (so far at least). I think Suarez or Cazorla are better bets for me this week.

    City strikers:

Mancini will probably start with the ones that weren't included in Internationals and that is only Tevez all the others Ballo, Kun, Dzeko played for there national teams so it seems Tevez and one partner for him.

    I predict Tevez Kun starting

Tevez is pretty nailed on...unless of course he spent some of the break back in Argentina. Last time he went back Mancini was unhappy with a drop in fitness level (and implicitly an increase in his waistline).

Tevez and Ageuro is the top choice imo so should start.

If City play to their potential, they could easily bang in a couple of goals. I am expecting a 3-1 for city, and my getting rid of Tevez will turn out to be a costly mistake.

Not worth it. Norwich will score but Arsenal will win comfortably. He had a torrid time last year in this game and also mid week blowing a 4-0 lead to 4-4 vs Sweden, unrelated but it has a bearing.

Worth doing any transfers to this lot? Options I'm considering are:

              a) Tevez -> Berba (leaves enough for Michu -> Santi, or Suarez -> Aguero next week)

              b) Tevez -> Giroud (leaves enough for Michu & Suarez -> Santi & Ba (or Walters & Aguero) next week for a hit)

              c) Save the transfer and do Michu & Suarez -> Santi & Berba next week for free.

              Jaask, (Fed)
              Baines, Hughes, Cuellar, (McCartney), (Clyne)
              Bale, Barfa, Michu, Pienaar, (Guthrie)
              RVP(c), Suarez, Tevez

im in a quandry, already done fellaini>(c)nolan and im wondering whether to do torres>rooney for a 4 point hit, i just think torres is gonna go quiet (short term) and avb will do the business over his old employers this weekend, but he is the focal point of the attack (long term) whearas rooney is playing deeper for utd but still has the potential to explode any game soon, and its usually somthing as small as putting one in off his shoulder for england to kickstart him (remember his header spree not too long ago

Already have Santi(C) and no Bale
