Moneyball – Marc Wilson

If ever there was a team to scrutinize for a Moneyball piece, it is Stoke. They’re unfashionable and uninspiring with a reported philosophy that is about as far from Fantasy Football as one can get. Such characteristics, though, give us an opportunity to find value, and it is to the Britannia where we’ll turn our attention this week.

A lot of people underestimate the a league but the quality is actually quite good. Plus it's one of the more physical leagues in the world, more physical than the premier league tbh

Graham, who admittedly has been rubbish and could be subbed but against wigan at home OR yaya away to West Brom, who to start. I'm leaning towards Graham in the thought he must score sometime.

If you have Suarez then no need to get Berbs this week. Personally I'd captain Suarez if I had him. Liverpool could bury Reading and Suarez should get a shedload of points this weekend.

Shame you can't get Santi in this week tough. He could go mental against Norwich.

    RE questions on Berb's price.

I'm going to monitor Berb as a testbed to see if the 8-day price freeze following flag removal is still in effect this season. FISO's guide for this season says it is, some people on this site say it isn't. I asked on FISO but no-one answered.

So I guess we'll find out.

REally hoping from an FPL point of view that Fellaini would play. As a QPR fan I'm delighted that he's not going to be around to terrorise our defence on Sunday afternoon.

My bench now consists of Guthrie, Fellaini, Demel and Green. Quite possible that all of that lot will be unavailable for selection this weekend.

Got to hope Rafael and Zabaletta start now or I won't be able to field XI without taking a hit, even with 2 FT this week.

At least we don't have to try and cope with Fellaini.

Agree with you, Adel and Junior need to start. I'd play 4-3-3.

            Bosingwa, Ferdinand, Nelsen, M'Bia
            Park, Granero, Faurlin
            Taarabt, Zamora, Hoilett

Did Wenger not say that Reading in the cup on October 30th was the most realistic date of return?

Given how many tackles Stoke have lost, unsuccesful passes in their own half and how many chances they have gifted by errors, a lot of credit has to be given to Begovic for their good defence.

In contrast West Hams no nonsense style of play is the reason for their decent record.

So Fellaini and Lambert to Nolan and Berbatov? Not entirely thrilled with the Nolan move, but can't see anything better. Any ideas for for an exciting 7.7m midfield option?

Definitely thinking about Pienaar as an option. Was swayed towards Nolan for this week (especially as my H2H opponent has him) but Pienaar is probably better long term. Plus I prefer him as a player.

Pratik, Walters doesn't inspire as you say, but agree he could be a good shout. Might get him in a week or two.

Must be just me then, but you cannot beat a cheap mid that plays up front and takes penalties! Shaun Maloney and Jonathan Walters in the same team would be the ultimate fantasy. "sisters preferably"
