Moneyball – Leon Osman

One of the highlighted players in Moneyball was Chad Bradford, who looks nothing like what scouts and fans imagine when they think about a pitcher. When he throws, his hand drops down so low on release that his knuckles literally scrape the floor. That unorthodox appearance meant that teams ignored him despite his impressive underlying numbers, until Billy Beane and his statistical staff looked beyond Bradford’s funky delivery, focused on the process and reaped the rewards. Today, the short, skinny thirty-something Leon Osman is Chad Bradford.

where has the love for fellaini gone? a few weeks ago he's been in so many of your teams..

Upfront he's an absolute bargain, but with so many other attacking options he's started sitting deep again.

In a bit of a pickle this week.

Defence is Baines Cuellar Wilson Demel McCartney

Already used my transfer for Mata (D'oh), was thinking Wilson -> Nelsen, since there's a danger I won't have 3 fit defenders and the Wilson transfer needs to be done next week if not now.

    Any input would be appreciated.

When we collide we come together
If we don't we'll always be apart
    I'll take a bruise, I know you're worth it
When you hit me, hit me hard...

But not TOO hard, or I'll get really pissed off and take YOU out for a hit.

Yes it is a pointless reply. No need. I was simply trying to understand how FISO worked. I thought Wilson must have only been 4.5 because when I checked on TOTALFPL last night there was no way he was going to decrease by 0.1 Clearly TOTAL must have got it wrong or shit loads transferred him out after 11pm.

            Still a pointless reply!

Assuming I've done Demel > Nelsen it leaves me with

    Foster, Begovic
    Baines, Rafael, Cuellar(?), Davies, Nelsen
Mata (?-inj), Santi, Bale, Morrison, Guthrie (inj)
    RVP, Ba(?), Berbs

    0.5 in the bank

    How about:

    Mata > Fellaini (-4)

I did the Demel->Cueller transfer yesterday night and now I am thoroughly pained. Looks like only nine players if Clark plays, 10 if Cueller also plays. Should I take a hit and do Guthrie->Gera (4.3+0.7 in bank) or should I use this disaster of a week to do a WC? A quick exercise left me with this :

    Begovic/Trammel

    Baines/Sagna/Baird/Gorkss/Nelson

    Oscar/Valencia/Bale/Morrison/Michu

    RvP/Tevez/Ruiz.

0.1 in bank. I will do Valencia-.Walcott after a few gameweeks if Theo holds down a starting place and SAF starts rotating like mad.

So what should I do? WC or just take a hit and get Gera and take a punt on Cueller and clark both playing?

Yes, and he is poor, but Gibbs isn't an integral part of that Arsenal defense, as long as Vermaelan and Koscielny are and with Sagna coming back that strengthens Arsenals cause. However I agree that United will expose Arsenals weak points, Cheers.

They can't play Santos up against Valencia surely. They'd be 4-3 down in the first ten minutes.

    Good Evening my esteemed brethren,

In replacing Aguero with RVP I have had to sacrifice Cazorla and am struggling to name a replacement. Here are the frontrunners:

    A) Oscar
    B) Nasri
    C) Valencia - UTD overkill?
    D) Lallana

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Cheers

Nasri is a decent pick. Bit left-field. Oscar too.

I'd keep it like for like.

Yeah I do like Nasri, especially with Silva out - would like some City attacking coverage.

Finding a place in my team for Oscar is a passion project of mine and I am leaning towards him now with the news of Mata's demise for the weekend.

        Cheers

        Big fan of Tony V.

Had him in my original squad but injury had him removed. Do you not think Valencia and RVP could be tying my points up?

United scoring 2 or 3 in every game. Few other teams are. It's all about goals.

They do seem to be on fire - attacking wise.

I think for this week though i'll swap Caz out for Oscar and bring in Valencia for Nolan next week.

            Thanks for the input.

Yeah, no Rafael. I did have him for a while but brought Baines in instead.

It would only be Valencia and RVP from UTD, but I currently have no Chelsea coverage, which is why I wouldnt mind bringing in Oscar this week and Valencia next.

        Thanks

but now might have to use it for demel to wilkinson

        mata and demel def out

cuellar and ba HAVE TO PLAY for me to field 11 and save the transfer.. i see the chances of that at 25%

I reckon Michael C. Hall's threat is well inferior to Mata though. He might be on throw ins perhaps, Mata gets the vast majority of the set pieces though.

no, you would need a tottenham cleanie, which is certainly likely, to break even, but then they have shit fixtures going forward. verms won't get a cleanie this week but can always score and has nice fixtures going forward.
