Suspensions

The Suspension Tightrope – Quiet

With no red cards shown in the fixtures this week, we’d a sparse looking inbox in terms of suspensions, but never fear – there are still some tidbits to throw your way, as the tightrope continues to creak under a heavy load.

Easing that load on Saturday, and perhaps the highest profile of those newly banned for next weekend, Chris Baird is the first to take our interest. Booked for protesting the injury time penalty award for Arsenal at the Emirates, the Northern Irishman had his pain immediately eased by the outstanding glovework of his goalkeeper but a ban still follows; he’ll be absent for the visit of Sunderland next Sunday, with Mahamadou Diarra the obvious replacement should he regain his fitness.

Also doing their bit to free up space on the sidebar widget were Stoke City’s Dean Whitehead and Sunderland’s Craig Gardner, both falling foul of the referee for the fifth time this season in their respective second halves against QPR and Everton. While Gardner will now accompany Baird in the stands at Craven Cottage, Whitehead will be missing a tricky trip to the Boleyn Ground, as the Potters face an in-form West Ham.

Replacing those three unbalanced folk up on the high wire this week we have a former Galactico in the shape of Esteban Granero, and a man capped by France at every age group level (though with the notable exception of the seniors) in Morgan Schneiderlin. Grabbing Southampton’s goal in a 1-1 draw with Swansea which lifted his side off the foot of the table, Schneiderlin also picked up his fourth yellow for unsporting behaviour. The Saints were replaced at the bottom by the QPR side of ‘El Pirata’ Granero, who picked up his censure in the final throws of their latest defeat.

Finally in our round up, it’s the old timers, with Cheick Tioté completing his three-match ban this week to be available for the Gameweek 12 shakeup; he waved goodbye to teammate Fabricio Coloccini who will sit out his second game of three, and QPR’s Stéphane M’Bia serving the last of his trio of enforced absences.

Is Garrido a recent acquisition or did you have him for his big hauls? If the latter - awesome play!

Team looks good if a bit Bainesless. I'd look at Vorm > Begovic

Thanks, and he is a recent accquisition. I figured since the normally poor defending teams were doing better than their caliber. I'd pick them up and drop the ones that failed. That way I was at least putting the funds saved into something more reliable upfront.

Excellent attack, good mid, poor defence. Understand the logic but you could surely stretch the pursestrings to one almost decent defender?

I was getting so sick of how hard it was to pick a good defense I thought I'd not waste my time guessing and go all Paul Lambert circa 2011/12 and just go for the best attack.

    2 FT's this week.

Thinking of doing Ba to Berbs and Bale to Silva. Would leave me £1.4m in bank too.

Newcastle look fairly ordinary this season and Fulham are scoring for fun. Silva is class, Spurs inconsistent under AVB. City are another team that will score against anyone.

Long term I think that looks safe as houses. Berbatov is possibly the best value player in the game and getting Silva in at this low price can't ever be a bad move.

Find someone else besides Silva. Yaya is the better midfielder at total and form points and cheaper price. That said Man City are playing che, EVE, MUN in their next four with their form not inspiring going into them.

Had Yaya and not interested in getting him back. Silva is the main man. Bargain at £9.3m too. City more likely to score goals in those though games than Spurs in theirs though.

    Baines, Simpson, Wisdom

    Bale, Morrison, Mata(VC), Hoilett

    Ba, Rooney, Aguero(C)

    Tremmel, Maloney, Wilkinson, Cuellar

Will probably use my free transfer to move Ba on for Giroud. I still fancy Ba to do well, but Giroud stats are pretty fly for a white boy and id like some Arsenal coverage, means I have cover from all the big teams. Injury dependent of course.

Will probably move Hoillett on for Ramirez or Lallana next GW.

I'm contemplating Bale to Silva. I'm waiting till Fellaini has picked up his next yellow and served his 1 game ban before I swoop for him.

City pretty much score against everyone and they are much more explosive goal wise with Silva in their team.

I'm thinking of getting Giroud and swapping Caz for Silva. Not having Fellaini is hurting me though so thinking he may have to come in rather than Silva, my squad is good enough to cope without him for a week when he gets suspended.

Talk to me on Granero, saw your table, looks interesting, what week are you looking at getting him. Can afford to get him in this week for Kebe but would leave a massive benching dilemma as I’d have

    Granero, Ramirez, Michu, Mata, Morrison

    RvP, Berba, Jelly

Looking at maybe GW14 or 15 depending on which week I do Jelly to Suarez (though I’ll likely have 2 FTs anyway)

I'm getting him this week as long as everyone returns from international without injury. Selling Michu to get him. Thinking is Michu is struggling up front, fixtures are terrible and if he does continue to score goals i will be prepared to pay the 7.5 to get him back when his fixtures do ease up.

Rotation of Southampton/QPR is nice for the next 8 or so gameweeks. Granero is just class having watched what I can. Gets forward and picks the right pass. He was good enough for Real :D. He's got Set pieces and corners to help if his opne play wasn't enough.

As soon as QPR results take a turn in the right direction, his FPL points will also.

Fernandes will probably keep him even if we lose to Southampton.

And no doubt come out with the usual crap about Hughes being the best thing to happen for QPR and how unlucky he has been and how the table is compressed (as we watch the teams above the relegation zone sail out of reach into the distance) and that the team needs to gel and that we've been playing well and the good times and sunny uplands are just around the corner........

bought him 2 weeks ago. not delivered yet anyway. don't think he looks as good as previous years, but could come good yet. mightn't be nailed on if SAF goes back to his diamond

Anyone thinking of a punt on Hernandez after Fergie's comments at the weekend? If RVP and Rooney's injuries are at all real he's nailed on, and even if they are both fit I see him getting a role up top with Rooney dropping deeper or even out wide?

    Transfer plan:
    Cazorla > Silva
    Michu > Fellaini
    Tevez > Giroud

    Am I reading Fiso correctly...

My three OUTs will probably fall in the next 2/3 days, and Fellaini will rise again soon?

I've only got 0.1 breathing space but wondering if I can wait out some internationals before I pull the trigger. Any advice on that much appreciated
    Cheers

Thanks. I've been bitten by waiting a little too long before (on Fellaini in like GWK 3 now I think about it! - $#£!!!!) so tempted just to do it now and risk the international crockery.

right that's it tevez out for berbatov

sick of worrying if tevez will start every week and city look rather dis-jointed anyway. The additional funds will allow me to strengthen elsewhere.

Just not sure whether to go through with it now or wait till friday/sat morning?
