The ScoutCast – Episode Eighty Eight – The Manchurian

Granville may well be exotic but he’s not Manchurian, despite what the spellcheck told me a few weeks back. He’s also a happy man. Winning on all fronts, he’s dishing out “one helluva beating” to yours truly right now.

Reveling in his position of power, the Hungarian Mancunian brings me to task on my jerky knee transfers, with the regular ScoutCast favourites scattered around that particular discussion.

Get your ears around our foreign tongues via this link or stream the nonsense through the player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Need some serious help with my midfield guys

    begovic (mannone)
    rafael baines demel davies cueller
    pienaar nasri michu morrison cazorla
    rvp ba berba

have 1FT and 0.7m in the bank. So here are my options:
A: pienaar and nasri >>> fellaini + sterling + 4 points….sterling is good value but i think nasri might have a good game against villa

    B: pienaar + morrison >>> fellaini + sterling + 4 points

C: ba + cazorla >>> giroud + mata….ba has potential but giroud is having good stats

    D: nasri + michu >> silva/mata + sterling + 4 points

    E: save the transfer

Basically confused on whether to bring in fellaini or not…great form but is he worth a hit to bring in a hit and with 4 yellows? also, which midfielder should i get rid of (along with nasri)

interesting how far ahead RVP is in the captain's poll...

norwich is mid-table across all shots conceded categories (and all of RVP's goals have come inside the box so far), whereas berbatov is 2nd amongst forwards in shots inside the box per minute played (and all his goals at home scored from inside the box) and sunderland is far-and-away the worst at conceding shots in the box on the road.

seems a no-brainer to give berba the armband this weekend, should you have him.

also, 71% of suarez' attempts come inside the box, and wigan have the 3rd least shots inside the box conceded away from home.

suarez currently #2 in captain poll.

seems that most are voting with heart rather than head on this one...

with hernandez being suggested as starting, tho, decent chance that he and rooney start (he and rvp don't fit together as well due to similar preferred positions) and rvp comes on as late sub.

plenty of reason to think this might not be the week to captain rvp.

sure someone will bookmark this and mention it when rvp starts and grabs a hattrick, but still...

Smeone posted a stat yesterday... Giroud has nearly exactly the same points as suarez over the last 5 GWs!

Yet in that timeframe suarez has risen by 0.6m, whilst giroud's price hasnt changed... And he's also 1.6m cheaper, and playing in a side that creates approximately 17 billion more chances per game than suarez...

The more ithi k aout giroud the more he looks like a great buy, going to watch him vs. Spurs before taking theplungetough, justin case. He is still new to the league after all.

Not time to panic just yet, but from GW15 onwards you'd want to have an arsenal attacker (giroud/caz) and probably sagna also...

Silva & giroud give great cheap-ish coverage of oth arsenal& city which is whati'm aiming for

Not really. Only Walcott bothers me but there always seems to be a question mark against his name.

On saying that, I found it tough to boot Cazorla this week but like I sais last week, Berbatov is a real bargain at 7 mill, so he became my priority.

I've bought back Michu but I've comforted myself that he could easily surpass the 15 goals he scored in La Liga last year.

i personally like both those moves, but 2 weeks later.

both jelly and ba have great fixtures the next 2 weeks. they could both score pretty well in those games, so you might well still have enough cash to do the moves in 2 weeks.

saying that, i brought in berba for jelly last weekend, but while also bringing in fellaini to keep everton coverage.

My moves this week are planned to be:

Maybe hold on to PIENAAAR to Felaini if u can, sideway Trf should not be taking hits
For what you know Felaini might get his long awaited yellow card and Pienaar might score. It makes more sense before his price rose last week

Yes. I've taken a hit for Berb too. The only reservation is Ag. If City go out of the CL next week and miss out on the Europe League, this will mean more starts for Ag.

However, Berb at 7 mill is top value.

Yes, I worry about losing Aguero, but he has been frustrating to own - may well not start this week, and then has Chelsea away.

I can always find a way to bring him back if necessary. (I already plan to downgrade Baines in a few weeks.)

Anyone tempted to bench Michu? I could play Kacaniklic but I think if Swansea score, Michu is likely to be involved whereas I'm not sure about Kacaniklic. On the other hand, Fulham are more likely to score.??

    My team right now

    Bego
    Baines Rafael Cameron Demel Sagna
    Mata Fellaini Bale Sterling Puncheon
    RVP Berbagol Ba

Thinking of doing these 3 moves
    1. Sagna -> Cuellar. Both got decent fixtures but Cuellar seems more likely to get CS
    2. Ba -> Suarez. One is kinda injured and one is firing.
    3. Bale -> Silva. It's Silva..

Is it worth it? Which ones should I prioritize?

The thing with Suarez is that he ALWAYS get 2pt game everytime I transfer him in.
And when I'm sick of him and transfer him out he got a streak of 9 pointers in 3 consecutive weeks!

Same with Aguero, just swapped him for RVP last week and he got a 9pts and RVP only 5.

    Dammit

    Suarez 4/5

There should be room for him to break the offisde trap of AVBs relatively high defensive line, and he was the furthest player forward last game. Just worried about Cazorla having played almost every minute this season and had the Panama flight, seems like the right time.

Everyone seems to concur that manu is a must cover for its coming easy fixtures.
And everyone seems to agree that theres imminent rotation risk at attacking since Hernandez is on form, opportunity to rest rvp , mr rooney is so-so & oh macheda who.
    Why not Welbeck?
Kinda have strong feeling that welbeck could be permanent this run to whoever his partner is. Is he not rooney lovers?

welbeck isn't nailed on. atm it seems that hernadez is more nailed on than welbeck.... both are big risks. if you are willing, by all means take a punt. it could pay off nicely or it could end horribly. just remember by getting hernadez or welbeck that's using up a forward spot that could be occupied by suarez, tevez, berb, ba, etc.

    Begovic
    Rafael - Nelsen - Baines
    Cazorla - Mata - Fellaini - Maloney
    Berbs - Tevez - RVP

Subs - Foster, Sterling, Clyne, Cuellar

I've switched Maloney & Sterling a handful of times already since the GW began & still can't make up my mind, I really think Wigan can get something out of the game - other than that I'm quietly confident this week. I finally got Fellaini in after being far too slow aboard the bandwagon, what is the general consensus on him picking up his 5th yellow - will the majority of ill-advised managers drop him for the ban hence lowering his price?

That's what I'm hoping, straight switch to the likes of Nolan, Michu, HBA etc and re-acquire at the lowered price. Liverpool's team threat going forward worries me even if Sterling is being used as a 2nd striker at times - Wigan worry me in general, never know what side is going to turn up.
