The Stock Check

The Stock Check – Saturday – Part Two

Anthony Pilkington earns the points for Norwich with a superb headed effort extending his side’s unbeaten run to five. Robin Van Persie fails to score or assist for the first time as a starter for United, with the Canaries resilient defence proving too good for the most prolific attack in the Premier League:

Going Up

Norwich Defence
The Canaries came into this evening’s game having conceded a single goal in their previous four Gameweeks but the visit of United was considered a real test of their resolve. A 1-0 win continued their upturn in resilience as Chris Hughton’s influence starts to have a real effect – they now have five clean sheets this term, three more than this evening’s beaten opponents.

Anthony Pilkington
His first goal of the campaign was enough to produce the points for the hosts. Norwich have not tasted defeat since a 4-1 battering at Chelsea in Gameweek 7 and while they may not score many – netting more than once on a single occasion so far – Hughton’s side concede even less; the opposite of last season’s form under former boss Paul Lambert.

Going Down

United Defence
David De Gea was given the day off after a trip to the dentist caused problems but Anders Lindegaard could do little about Pilkington’s excellent headed winner. United have now conceded first in eight of their 12 matches and for once, their attack was unable to bail them out.

United Attack
Tonsillitis kept Wayne Rooney out of the reckoning and with Javier Hernandez selected to start, Robin Van Persie dropped a little deeper. Having racked up 29 goals in the previous 10, with at least two goals per game over that run, the visitors were snuffed out for the first time since Gameweek 1. Three favourable fixtures in the next four look set to offer Van Persie a chance to rectify tonight’s blip – this was the first time he has failed to produce a goal or assist when starting a league game for United.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Currently have a mid/att of

    Bale/Mata/Fellaini/Michu/Kaca
    Tevez/RVP/Berba

Want to get Suarez in, Should I just dgrade my backup goalie and get him for Tevez? Or downgrade Fellaini/Michu to get him for Berba.

There comes a time in a man's life (when he has been out of the game for a while 🙂 and finds himself in pocket spare £300 pound ish) when he has to make a key decision......

      PS3
      - Blu-Ray player.
      - Online is free instead of an annual membership fee like Xbox.
      - Wifi built in (Xbox didn't have this last time I checked).
      - Controller is smaller and easier to use.

getting rid of suarez 3 weeks ago was a small bit of a mistake! im looking at getting him in for lambert. i've 2 fts but i think a 4pointer might be best, any thoughts on:

    full team is:
    schwazer, ming
    baines, cuellar, clark, fonte, nelson
    hba, bale, cazorla, sterling, fellaini
    lambert, rvp, ba

A: baines, hba & lambert out for 5mil def, lallana & suarez (4pointer)
B: bale & lambert out for mcanuff & suarez (no hit but not a fan of getting rid of bale)
    C: don't get suarez back

SAF messed up with the team selection, imo. Giggs should not start in a two man midfield (he was not the worste on the pitch, mind). The subs was kinda poor aswell.

Missed Rooney today. Would like to see United play without relying so much on the wingers. Valencia/Young is really not in form atm.

To the people who were asking what Sunderlands backline will be, it will be -

    Cuellar, O'Shea, Rose.
    Nailed on.

Bardo or Gardner at RB, if Bardo is fit then he plays but he's touch & go.

Given the choice id pick Cuellar over Bardo. We're supposedly after Lustig, nothing definite though.

pienaar is firing blanks. cabaye is quality. Prob wont do it this week as Fellaini out and pienaar could play a more attacking role, but looking at it for the future. looking ofr inspiration to use my 2 FT. any suggestions?

Big red arrow for me with 41. Hopefully, Berba, Cameron and Jaask can do something. Getting rid of Tevez this week doesn't look my smartest move.

It gets really frustrating when the only players left in your team is a striker and a keeper who is playing against each other. A peno saved and berbs to still score could do wonders 😀

Nah, you want either Berbs to be off when a penalty is taken or Mings to be subbed off when Berba scores.

    Current team is

    Begovic/Jaaskelainen
    Hughes/Rafael/Sagna/Bennett/Ridgewell/
    Bale/Cazorla/Pienaar/Maloney/Michu
    RVP/Berbatov/Pogrebnyak

Yeah i know i still have 3 players to play but i'm seriously thinking about wildcarding. I really need Suarez, would be a great differential in my ML. Defence is useless too....

Anybody better at the game than me (which is probably everyone on here) have any advice/suggestions?!

    Thanks!

It is quite clear that diving powers do not want me to do well. Transferred out berba last week. He gets 16 points. Then transferred out Tevez for Aguero then gets two goals and 2 assists…..
