The Big Numbers – Gameweek 13

A Gameweek tainted by no less than three 0-0 stalemates still saw several protagonists produce strong statistical shifts. Jordi Gomez and Stephane Sessegnon led the way in our ICT Index rankings and are amongst the players picked out in this week’s Big Numbers, our summary of some of the key stats on show from the weekend’s action…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

guys, I think I need a piece of advice.

I am saving transfer now to be able to do 2 FTs before GW15. In the first place I was almost sure to do:
    Ivanovic + Saylor ---> JEnrique + Gibbs,

but now I am not so convinced about dropping Ivanovic. Under Benitez, Chelsea may play much more defensively and CSs may come back for them.
So other idea I have now is:

Saylor + Noble (or Maloney) ---> Gibbs + Puncheon

I'd probably get Puncheon anyway, before GW17, after his blank, for one of Noble / Maloney

So what to do before GW15:

    A. Ivanovic + Saylor ---> JEnrique + Gibbs
    B. Saylor + Noble (or Maloney) ---> Gibbs + Puncheon

    ??

Chelsea looked tight at the back, and Benitez is historically know to create stronger defensively minded teams. From a Chelsea fan i think we'll keep a few clean sheets but i also believe our defenders attacking threat will be reduced. So Ivanovic/ Luiz etc goal threat should be less.

I agree with this. Think cheaper chelsea defenders will be the way to go although Ivan and Terry will still be a threat from corners I guess.

    GW 14 :

    DDG ( should get a start )
Baines, Rafael, Grokss ( Reither, McCartney )
Johnson, Sterling, Bale, Morrison ( Nolan )
    Tevez, Berbatov, Rvp

    Any suggestions?

Regardless whether DDG starts, you should loook at other options, cheaper keepers have got considerably more points this season and doubling up on utd def isn't a wise move IMO.

Apart from that it looks good.

yeah ive paid a price for doubling up on them. Need to replace DDG to Mignolet before the DGW

Last week for him in my team.

Got in Johnson for the run in to the DGW as well. hope it works out.

As the good teams consistently score more than the lesser teams and let in fewer than those in the lower echelons; yes indeed.

However, predicting TEAM goals (and of course, getting them right) based on fixtures is not something you can do based on any formula. In addition, FPL managers don't care that much about team goals, we care about PLAYER goals. This makes it even harder to predict.

There has to be correlation between points and fixtures if you consider all players, but that does not mean that any given player will do well in given game.

Got my own philosophy, big teams do well against big teams and teams they hav good history against, there will usually be 1 upset per week, and smaller teams that play ultra-defensively can beat/draw with big teams......

So fixtures don't usually matter imo

      You can't argue like that:
      Tevez at home: Arsenal 1, Tottenham 2, Sunderland 5, Soton 6, Swansea 9, QPR 15, Villa 19.
You can find arguments for anything if you cherrypick.

I agree with you on this. Plus, and this is only my opinion, but Silva looked tired to me at the end of the Chelsea game, did a hell of a lot of running and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he starts on tthe bench for that game.

    Having a really disappointing gameweek.
    2FT, 0.1 in bank.
    What should I do?

    Begovic
    Baines Rafael Gorkss
    Mata Silva Bale Michu
    Berba RVP Ba

    Foster Puncheon Nelsen Davies

Mulling over these options for a whole day:

    Begovic (Vorm)
    Rafael Cuellar Clyne (Olsson Gorkks)
    Bale Cazorla Oscar Michu (Pienaar)
    Suarez Tevez Lambert

    1 FT, 2.0m in bank

Thinking that Oscar and Pienaar are overdue, thus:

    A. Save the transfer, deal with them later
    B. Oscar to AJ/Sess/Silva, play him
    C. Pienaar to AJ/Sess, play him and bench Oscar

    Cheers 😀

These days, I feel United are becoming more effective on cornors. This is good for J Evans for sure.

Anyone have an update on Ruddy injury?

currently have Ruddy/ Foster combination so I reckon I'll take out Foster with my 1FT this week.

Any ideas who to bring in though?

Rest of defence is Baines, Cuellar, Huth, Cameron, Demel

What time do the price hikes take place?

I have exact money for 2 transfers, one involving Puncheon going up, but want to wait on the Walcott news?

Any any idea about the Arsenal presser?

I already have Mata, Fellaini, Bale, Silva, RVP & Suarez! Hence, Shane Long might have to sit it out on the bench.
