The Big Numbers – Gameweek 14

Gareth Bale and Robin Van Persie top our ICT Index rankings for the midweek matches, with the likes of Marouane Fellaini and Adel Taarabt also flourishing to catch the eye. They all come under focus in the Big Numbers analysis, as we provide our members with a few of the key stats from Gameweek 14…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

As a Boro fan I'd love to see him left well along in January and then sent out to us on loan. He's better than the flack he gets, could do a job-and-a-half in the Championship.

I'd have liked Johnson back as well but Man City had to go and sell him to Sunderland.

What are people doing for the DGW? I'm thinking of doubling up on the Sunderland defence. I have Cuellar and thinking of doing Vorm to Mignolet this week or next. My other keeper is Begovic and I jnow they don't rotate well but but I can always ship Mignolet after. I don't rate the Sunderland attack so am going to stay clear, Fletcher might be worth a shout but I'm not getting rid of Berbatov.

I have Federici (I know, I know) and Cuellar, and I'll be adding either Sessegnon and Fletcher for a punt, then wildcarding probably.

cool, sounds like a decent plan, I'd get in either of those two for a punt but I don't see them as long term options, works nicely with a wildcard in hand though

I'm not sure there are that many points to be had from it either, Sunderland attacking wise are awful. I guess you have to consider do you really want to use your wild card to clear up your team after the DGW. Would it be better used later in the season? I mean there is the january wild card coming up...

    *sigh*

another hit it seems (will be 40 points worth)

    Baines > Enrique
    Saylor > Ridgewell

Need to get rid of Baines and Saylor if both aren’t fit so need to take the hit as my other 3 are Cuellar, McCartney and Clyne.

just do Baines > Enrique, why do you HAVE to take a hit? Play Cuellar McCartney and Enrique? Is it really worth taking 4 point hit when Clyne even might get you an assist or a 2 pointer.

Fellaini, Bale, Carzola , Walcott , Kacanicklic

    Berba , RVP , Suarez

i have 2 FT and 0.5m in bank. What should i transfer in and out

i want to get enrique in yet dont feel like dropping Rafael. is doubling up on Arsenal with Walcott, Carzola too much ?

and i need to get some players for DGW.. most of the people in my league have Fletcher, Sess with Mignolet/Cuellar. i afraid i might lose even more if they score big in the DGW

    CURRENT TEAM
    Jaask, Federici
    Baines, Cuellar, Hughes, Clyne, McCartney
    Bale, Silva, Fellaini, Michu, Taarabt
    RVP, Ba, Fletcher

    BANK 1.4m, 2 FREEBIES
Not overly happy about it, but I'm coming round to the idea of losing Ba (WIG) this week and just getting Suarez in and captaining him before he goes up anymore. Best option from the below?

    a) Baines & Ba -> Enrique & Suarez (0.7m left over).
    - Upside = Suarez in before further rises, gives me a (c) this week & an OOP defender at home to SOT.
    - Downside = no Arsenal cover and loses Ba (WIG).

    b) Baines & Taarabt -> Sagna & Walcott (0.2m left over).
    - Upside = double ARS for their good run. Loses worse players than a) and c)
    - Downside = no Liverpool and delays Suarez

    c) Baines & Michu -> Enrique & Walcott (1.1m left over).
    - Upside = good LIV and ARS coverage. Decent £ left in the bank.
    - Downside = Loses Michu and delays Suarez

    Here's my team:

D: Baines, Rafael, Simpson, Davies, Clyne
M: Mata, Fellaini, Michu, Morrison, Sterling
    F: RVP, Tevez, Berbatov

    2 FTs, 1.4m in bank

These are the options I'm considering this week:

    A: Baines to DEF
    B: Simpson to DEF
    C: Baines+Tevez to DEF+Suarez
    D: Baines+Mata to DEF+Bale

    DEF could be
    1. Nastasic
    2. Enrique
    3. Azpilicueta

    2 questions:
    Which trade?
    Which DEF?

Worth doing a -4 pt hit to get Suarez& Enrigue? My thinking is South will prob score, which means Enrigue will have to get offensive points to make it worth it.

I think it is actually, not a fan of taking a hit for a defender but how often can bring in a defender who plays LW. His price might rise 0.2 by saturday. Also, still think there is a decent chance of a liverpool CS. If SOT is ever going to draw a blank, it could be away to LIV

seems like i will have a selection problem at front 8 first time this season.
    who would you bench?

bale (ful) walcott (SWA) fellaini (mci) michu (ars) sterling (SOT)
rvp (rdg) suarez (SOT) fletcher (nor)

it is michu for now but i also consider fellaini or fletcher.

I'd bench fletcher. Arsenal love a good defensive gaff, and michu loves a good poachers goal. Sterling is a legit option and no longer bench fodder, especially this weekend, and Fletcher probably has the most counter-FPL gameweek of the lot (in form defense, not-very-attacking offense, away game)

Money aside, would you rather have Puncheon or Morrison?

    Last REPOST (sorry)

    Cerny – Begovic
    Enrique – Nastasic – Sagna – Davies – Gorkss
    Fellaini – Sterling – Walcott – Silva – Bale
Van Persie – Suarez – Berbatov

    0.3m in bank

I feel the need to get Michu back but no idea who to get him in for. Dropping Fellaini doesn’t sound sane. Drop Walcott to avoid his injury risk?

      no. crazy.
do without michu - your midfield is amazing.
in fact your team is amazing, you lucky bugger. just swap gorkss for shorey if you can afford.

Just let that team ride and let MIchu go. I don't think he'll perform predictably better than the other 4 in your midfield (bar Sterling). If Walcott goes injured again, then maybe michu back.

if you'd have been less preoccupied with chasing price rises you might actually have a decent ranking. Maybe something to consider for next season!
