Moneyball – Adel Taarabt

The key factor for a player to appear in this series is to have a visible (or at least perceived) flaw which we believe is either over-emphasised or could end in the coming weeks. We’ve highlighted Jason Puncheon who lacked guaranteed minutes but has shone since securing his place in the Southampton first team. Leon Osman’s ‘flaw’ is simply being unfashionable in a side full of more exciting options, yet he is nipping at the heels of the more fancied Steven Pienaar and even Nikica Jelavic in total points.

This week’s player has a number of such flaws, though most of them are of no concern to us. Adel Taarabt is the prototypical mercurial talent; equally happy playing the part of a sublime match winner as that of frustrating prospect, doomed to never align his end product with his obvious talent.

Michu Anytime goalscorer, 11/4, to score 2 or more - 22/1

Sterling anytime goalscorer 6/4, to score 2 or more - 15/2

Fellaini anytime goalscorer 16/5, to score 2 or more - 30/1

Fletcher anytime goalscorer 2/1, to score 2 or more - 16/1

The bookies are suggesting to bench Fellaini and to not bench Sterling 😉

Fellaini - 7 goals and 4 assists in 12 games (including United and Arsenal)
Sterling - 1 goal and 4 assists in 13 games.

Obviously not the best way to look at it, but obviously worth noting.

Suarez is going to be my (c) so I might bench Sterling & spread the risk..

No. Walcott himself said "he is looking to keep up the form next game"
Wenger said "aside from Koscielny & Sagna, everyone from the Everton game is fine"
        And Walcott trained.

The flag can do magical things.

Which three would you choose out of these five
Rafael (Against Reading but away from home)
Garrido (Poor scoring Sunderland against them , though they are scoring a few now)
McAuley (Against stoke at home where WBA have been very solid at the back)
Gera (At home and he ,when given a chance has this habit of surprise all with stunning goals)

I am inclined towards first three.

    Any thoughts ?

    For this gameweek, I'm thinking:

    Bunn
    Enrique-Rafael-Nelsen
    Bale-Cazorla-Sterling-Fellaini-Michu
    Berbatov-Van Persie (c)

    Subs: Begovic, Fletcher, Clark, Shorey

    A) Have I benched the right people in your view?

    B) Should I change the captaincy to Santi or even Enrique as a punt?

Interesting. Just posed question on Sterling Vs Fletcher. I'd gone for Fletcher but really can't decide! If you have Enrique would you not consider hedging a bit and not having 2 from same team?

Hey guys, quite torn between this one. Usually go with the more expensive one when I can't decide:

    Fletcher (nor) or Sterling (SOU)?

Afternoon all. Quick team check for the weekend wouldn't go amiss 🙂

    Jussi
    Rafael mertesacker Cuellar
    Bale Cazorla Fellaini Mata
    RVP Suarez (c) Fletcher

    (Begovic Puncheon Davies Gorkss)

Look okay? Any further tinkering required?

Have used my transfer to get Enrique in for Baines already this week and have £1.5m to play around with for my free transfer next week.

Any ideas on where to strengthen? I was thinking of Simpson to Nastasic...

    Szczesny (Jaask)

    Cuellar, Enrique, Simpson (Gorkss, Clark)

    Fellaini, Sterling, Silva, Bale (Puncheon)

    RVP, Suarez (c), Berbatov

    Agree to bench Fletcher
I am considering captain Enrique myself, and that's not due to punting reason, but he has the potential to score 9 to 15 points

Captained Danny Graham (Doubled 8 to be fair).

Fairly punt-free over here though generally. No Kolarovs ..

Cuellar (c) for the DGW and he scored vs Chelsea and got a CS vs Reading, it was glorious....oh wait.. 🙁

This season? None, unfortunately..I just take random points hits for the 'tried and tested' players.
