The Semi-Finals of the Paddy Power Fantasy Football Scout Cup VII were finally completed last night after Chelsea and Southampton’s 2-2 draw at the Bridge. We find a familiar name in the final, with site regular Wild Rover clinching his place thanks to a 94-75 win over Mr KK…

Now up to 146th in the overall Fantasy Premier League (FPL) standings, Wild Rover’s decision to wield his winter wildcard for double Gameweek 22 paid off handsomely, with Demba Ba, Rickie Lambert, Juan Mata, Luke Shaw and David Luiz all racking up the returns. He loaded up on three double Gameweek 23 players last week (Joe Cole, Guy Demel and Bacary Sagna) and has already made a transfer prior to Saturday’s deadline.

Nevertheless, Wild Rover remains the underdog for the final – a clear sign of the level of competition in this year’s Scout Cup. Standing in his way of the silverware is MileHigh, who has now moved up to 18th in the world and arrives in the final courtesy of a 90-69 win over Ange1Range1. MileHigh also had five players for last week’s double, with Ba, Mata, Shaw and Luiz joined by Jason Puncheon. He still has his wildcard intact but already has four players (Theo Walcott, Kieran Gibbs, Mark Noble and Guy Demel) in his squad for the upcoming double, with a free transfer still to play.

With both sides looking well-placed to take advantage of Arsenal and West Ham’s respective pair of fixtures, we’re set for quite a battle all the way through to Wednesday evening’s fixture at the Emirates.

On behalf of Fantasy Football Scout, good luck to you both.

Meanwhile, Mr.KK and ange1range1 are left to settle matters in the third place play-off.

1 ange1range1 69 – 90 MileHigh
2 Wild rover 94 – 75 Mr.KK

^^^this^^^ neither Evans or Evra ever looked like much of goal threat before this season. Suddenly RvP arrives and starts taking corners, suddenly they have 4 each and Evra at 5’6ish has 3 headed goals from corners?????

Never thought of it that way, but you may be right…

I thought it was just the lack of the left footed in-swinging corner from the right that he’s lacked, which RVP supplied so well.

There has to be a reason Evra in particular is scoring for fun this season…

            JKisthe1 - A Founder of Berbism says:

well all but 1 came from a set-piece. Poor marking has helped, but players are getting into dangerous positions and rvP has the quality to find them. RvP is so good he managed to score from a corner taken by Nani.

          Fancy Feet says:

HA ….Verms use to score most of his goals from open play. The guy use to constantly bomb forward when he gets the chance. The factor that has affected his goals is the new defending coach not RVP’s corners lol. The coach has probably insisted he does not want him leaving the back.

        Captain Berbarossa - arrrrrrr!!! says:

Yeah, RVP is just a technically better player. Rooney’s fantasy attraction will plummet if he’s off pens and deservedly so. Think Fergie realises RVP is his main man and needs to back him so now. Rooney must learn to play second fiddle.

      JKisthe1 - A Founder of Berbism says:

I think it will. Rooney was warned about his conversation rate once before, then went and missed his next one. Ok RvP missed v Saints. He was told off for it, then promptly went and scored a match-winning penalty at Anfield.

If you look at our peno takers under Fergie

Bruce, Irwin, Cantona, Irwin again, RvN, CR7

These are guy you’d mortgage your house against for them to score. The same can not be said for Rooney

        It’ll be either Luiz/Ba > Aguero/5.2 or Walcott/Lambert > Puncheon/Aguero.

Downgrading Walcott (or even Mata) would still give me a front 7 of
        Michu Bale Fellaini Walcott/Mata
        Ba Aguero RVP

So Django. What a load of bollocks.

The plot could’ve been written on a beer mat it was so limited
The dialogue (which QT is renowned for) was crap (Nigger was used so much that even I, a pasty paddy, was starting to get offended)
Jamie Fox as the lead was wooden
The violence was too over the top and at times it seemed like a violent version of Blazing Saddles.
Oh and it was an hr too long.

    So disappointed.

I guess the N word as offensive as it is was used in every sentence in that context back then. And Quentin is definitely not one to shirk away from shock factor.

Not seen the film yet so I will reserve my judgement but hoping it’s a good film.

Weather or not, I think I’m still getting Pod in tonight. I think the north will be worse hit than London, where Arsenal play both their DGW games (as do West Ham actually)

I’d say the games most at risk are Swansea v Stoke and Newcastle v Reading, with Wigan v Sunderland also a possibilty
