The ScoutCast – Episode Ninety Five – Rush

Rush. The best form of goalkeepers for the playground. A long-haired Canadian prog-rock outfit. A mustachioed goal sniffer and, sadly, a description of how Granville and myself had to approach this latest episode of the podcast.

With our studio slot limited, we had to skinny things up and turn this one out double-time. Nonetheless, in 26-minutes, we touched on all the regulars, whilst scattering the silence in between with the usual sniping between the pair of us. It makes you wonder what we waste the other twenty minutes on every week.

Not to worry. Enjoy what you can of this little taster and look ahead to next week’s full-fat return, when we’re planning a new feature and a new voice.

Grab this fast-food snack via this link, or stream the quick chat via the player below….

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Ugh I just don't know what to do with Ba. Torres looks like he should be sent to the horse fame but will Rafa really just give up on him? Can Ba and Torres play together in a 4 4 2 or 433 for home games? I got Ba at 7.7 so if I get rid for Pod there's no going back and will have to look at somehow getting Aguero/Suarez. What are you Ba owners gonna do who have alot of value tied up in him?

I'm keeping, everyone is jumping to conclusions its all guess work with no real substance behind it at the moment people saying Ba will be rotated, there is no concrete evidence to this at this point, Ba is in form right now so why drop a player in form?

If not for the DGW I doubt anyone would be making this move now. I have other ways to bring in a 3rd arsenal player but I think Pod has slightly more upside than Santi and double Arsenal defense might not work out to great if I go that way.

I just think its a very shortsighted move unless people have major funds in the bank for the week after, I wouldn't want Pod against Liverpool when Ba has Reading, I would rather save the transfer this week then have 2 for the week after where quite a few of the big teams have a tasty fixture.

Morning. Kids up complaining no snow yet.

If you havnt had RVP since GW 7 and are ranked in top 200k would you get him in on active wildcard this week?

Buying him means no Gerrard or Suarez but fed up of doing well with differentials then seeing RVP score in last minute for other league teams to make up gap.

    Cheers

    @TW

sorry for the abrupt ending on that post about pirlo Vs Barca mids. was busy attending to my 2-year old son! btw, it's down to our preference imo. currently Xavi & Iniesta is playing in the arguably best team of all time, people around them, i.e busquets, messi, villa, alves etc. are making them looking sublime almost every other occasion. you may disagree with me, but i think as an individual, rivaldo, luis enrique and figo (before he went to Madrid) are more special players than the current crop. But hey, who am i to judge them individually. i'm not FIFA nor UEFA.

btw, cani can only dream for Bayern vs Barca next season. let's see if Pep factor is going to have any effect on that!

most pointing out that Bayern are already Bundesliga Champs.

Same situation as last season,Bayern were winter-champs
and Dortmund were inconsistent, major turn-around after that.

Only change being that Dortmund did not have European football
              to contend with.

yep, who know if there is going to be another turn-around.

i think their players have more appetite for UCL football than Bayern's. that might just edge it. Domestically, it's Bayern's to lose. Their European adventure is absolutely theirs to win

      no worries mate!

yeah i see your point about those around them making them look better. but they too make those around them look better.

thats all a matter of opinion of course. but the thing is you're identifying them as individuals. the problem is that it's hard to distinguish xavi or iniesta as individuals because of the way they play. they thrive on combination play with each other and those around them, with clever movement, etc. individually they are brilliant (though obviously i'm biased :D) but it's together that they are truly a class above everyone else

barca bayern final would be awesome 😀

Think we can Kiss Swansea goodbye

Forecasters warned of major travel disruption, threats to power supplies and fears for the elderly as they predicted falls of up to 12in in some areas today and tomorrow. Higher ground will see the worst, especially in Wales and the west of England, but up to 4in will fall in other areas. Winds up to 25mph will also cause drifting, forecasters said. A red weather warning has been issued in South Wales, where up to 12in of snow and 30mph winds are forecast. Thousands of people were advised not to leave their homes, with the dangers so severe that even the fit and healthy are at risk.

There won't be anywhere near 12 inches of snow in Swansea, that's for the Brecon Beacons & Heads of the Valleys (higher up in the mountains). 3-4 at the most in Swansea, I'd guess. I just phoned my boss (work in Swansea) and he said there's a decent bit there now, but it all depends just how long it keeps on snowing.

But as the game is tomorrow there's a chance it could be one of the ones in doubt though, aye.

Looking at keeping Ba, but have the funds for Suarez or Aguero with a 0.1m price rise. Ba seems like a great value if he gets regular starts. Suarez is bolted on and seems fixture proof. Aguero I believe will remain a rotation risk as seen by his minutes earlier in the season, but could be dynamite if he gets regular starts. I hate Rafa and Mancini rotations.

It wasn't *directly* at you, it was just following on. Why Suarez? Why not pick any other player? They (almost) all cheat to win. He (Suarez) gets a shit storm whenever he does, other players don't.

It was just a general comment about the perception of Suarez, is all.

Ronty: Suarez does not do drugs. Different scenarios.
              Parmtree: Still a cheat.

You people don't know how to read and understand where the point is coming from? Point being - both Armstrong and Suarez cheat and that's why Parmtree said the Luis Suarez of Cycling.

Not seen the interview. Just read some confessions. Good that he wants to cooperate with the cycling authorities re drug testing.

Otherwise, it's going to take some time before people forgive him. He has hurt a lot of people in the process particularly his fellow cyclists.

As someone who has read both his autobiograhies, I felt really disappointed by his cheating.

The question is now is how he goes about dealing with the cycling authorities who will undoubtedly have plenty of questions for him of their own. Also, his sponsors-how does he repay them - bonuses, etc.

He's probably now going get sued to high heaven. Costly thing, lying.

I bought him for 6.8m. Surely I am tempted. Wilshire or Nollan

6.8 mean no going back if you sell. Depends if you think theres better value to be had. I got him at 7.5 and not even thinking about selling. That might change if come sat i only have 8 players

I'm tempted at some point due to his high ownership. Same for bringing in aguero and Sturidge. Only way to make up significant ground I think. What do you think if that tactic TM? Bad or good ?

Michu fires, you are screwed. Differentials are only good if they outscore the high ownership players in their positions although value comes into it. A Michu injury would change FPL a fair bit.

Guys clean post on weather and games that could 'potentially' be affected by the snow looking at met office warnings...

    Liverpool v Norwich 15:00
    Man City v Fulham 15:00
Newcastle v Reading 15:00 (less likely)
    Swansea v Stoke 15:00
    Wigan v Sunderland 15:00
West Brom v Aston Villa 17:30

Swansea and Liverpool maybe worse hit possibly city.

Weather will go north from Wales and the Midlands.

Met office severe weather link (wales, midlands) you can scroll the page.

That would be 6 out for me if those 3 games go...not that Berba/Hughes/Martin would be much use if they came in... Unfortunately I think my rivals are a bit less exposed than me.

Cheers EVS. No idea what to do with that lot...

Feeling even worse for hanging on to Suarez and Michu last week instead of getting double game weekers!

      11:29 tomorrow could be interesting!
