Monitor – Kevin Nolan

With five goals in his first 11 league starts back in the top flight, Kevin Nolan confirmed what we already knew – he was a goalscoring midfielder, capable of keeping company with the best. That initial period saw him emerge as a rare Fantasy talent – a promoted player who immediately delivered and offered incredible value for a modest price tag: initially 6.0 in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.

Since Gameweek 11, however, Nolan’s output had declined markedly and he’s without a goal in his last nine league starts, with zero Fantasy returns from Gameweek 11 onwards. It’s an astonishing dip in fortunes and one that has surely contributed to West Ham’s precarious slide down the table.

In a Gameweek that finds West Ham’s assets in focus ahead of their double fixtures with QPR and Arsenal, our latest article for members takes time to analyse Nolan’s performances, looking at the numbers behind the Gameweeks to attempt to decipher the reasons behind his decline and whether he can recover to become a serious consideration for the Hammers’ double this week.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
