As we close on a century of episodes it was time to freshen things up and bring new voices to accompany my drone and that of grumpy Granville. In this weeks’ episode, we draft in both “Professor” Chris Atkinson and his “Rate My Team” computer, plus long-time community member and contributor, Jonty, for a new ScoutCast regular.

Don’t worry, the usual format remains intact although, having recorded this just minutes after last night’s whistles, Granville escapes the usual mini-league grilling. Not surprisingly, there’s plenty of “Granny’s miffed” to endure, plus “All Aboard” and the weekend preview. That’s’ rounded off by the “Full Jonty” a brand new feature that will bring you, the community, into our weekly ramblings.

        Why...? Because that's who have scored the most points so far?

        Evra, for example, has less than half the shots and less chances created than Glen Johnson, who also has more than double the amount of clean sheets so far.

    Anyone know anything about Shaun Derry, from QPR? 4.2, played the last few games and got a few assists, not bad as bench fodder... will he play still a few games tho?

      He plays in a deep midfield role, and he's 200 years old. I don't think he's a good option, pretty low attacking threat in a team that doesn't score goals.

    @Nick: Sorry, had to do a standup meeting at work.

    I've looked into it further, the Mignolet + Bunn rotation is actually not bad at all. And saves me some money. Could go with that. What do you think about Wilson, too risky to get him in this week? He wasn't on the bench last GW, and if you went Wilson you'd want him for GW26, which will probably be WAY too soon.

      Not keen on Benteke myself, but it looks good otherwise. I'd prefer a cheaper 3rd striker or a mid-7 range 3rd striker. Did QPR sign Simpson in the end? He could threaten Onouha.

      Am a personal friend of the prof., so am biased.

      I liked it. Think it's good that RMT is getting more coverage in the actual content/podcast of the site, because it needs a bit of explaining/analysis to get your head around. It took me a good couple of month of being friends with him to get how you use it. It's not the final solution to anything, but I don't think it's coincidence that Chris and I both use it and we've both now had a season where we've been ranked extremely highly.

      Was sat in the room with him while he recorded it and he could probably do a bit more analysis of it himself, rather than just reading it out. His view on why surprise picks like Di Santo get in (probably because Wigan are set to score some goals and he will resnobly get a % of them) would be useful.

      Can the Full Jonty or keep it separate say a 10 minute clip for the members. The scientist was a decent edition maybe a comparison with yours and Marks teams prompts a good discussion between stats and gut feeling
