We often get caught up in the goals conceded stats and forget to look at things like big chances conceded, shots conceded in the box and chances conceded from set-plays, which really help to give an understanding to teams' defensive performance.

The problem with switching Gerrard is that you already have (arguably) the best 3 mids on offer. The best remaining options all come with a downside:
Silva - possible GW29 blank
Michu - blank
Fellaini - probable GW29 blank and 2 bookings away from a 2 match ban
Taarabt - consistently threatens to score well but never does
Sissoko - may end up in a deeper role and lose his appeal

I'd consider whether you're sacrificing too much to get one player in.

People should bear in mind that - as granville would say - gw29 isn't a blank gameweek.... it is a 'blank' gameweek. It is almost the inverse of the current liverpool/ swansea situation.
That is - All of these teams with blanks are guaranteed a DGW later on - perhaps sooner rather than later, we don't really know for sure.
What I mean is, it isn't really worth taking hits to field 11 in gw29, because the players you sell are the exact players you will want to buy back later for their DGW (potentially for a hit too!)
The benefit is that you can have 3 bench players for the blank, who can then all start in the DGW, so you actually get an advantage by having more rather than less.
Does that make sense?

I've got two main routes I can take with transfers which will have a huge affect on who I can buy in the next few weeks.
1. Suarez > ? (probably Lambert, although I do already have Puncheon), which gives me significant funds for a Fellaini/Puncheon upgrade. Play 4-4-2 formation with Sturridge, Michu and Enrique on the bench.
2. Enrique > Jevans. This means I keep Suarez, who I'm only selling due to the blank as I'd be happy with double Liverpool considering the way both Suarez and Sturridge have been scoring. This would mean playing a 5-4-1 formation this week with Michu, Suarez and Sturridge on the bench. It also means buying a player with a potential GW29 blank, meaning my current line-up for GW29 could be 1 short:
Bunn
Onouha Harte Wilson(or other cheap defender) (Zab, Jevans)
Michu Puncheon Bale (Fellaini, Wally)
RVP Sturridge Suarez
I'd need to sell someone to field 11. Fellaini is arguably the best candidate to go, but I'd only have about £0.5m
