Chelsea won it last year and finished 6th. Liverpool won it in '05 and finished 5th. The PL has good strength in depth, even if we are being outshone a little at the moment.Open ControlsMy point is Arsenals ambition has lowered, when you sell your best assets to rival PL teams, it clearly indicates you have no ambition of winning the PL. This should not be encouraged, it is damaging to the PL.

Personally I love the champions league - it gives us games like Arsenal vs Bayern, Barcelona vs AC Milan. Without the current format, none of those clubs as well as Man Utd make the grade. hi guys, playing this stupid ucl fantasy (dont know why). But i was ranked something like 1,500 overall at the start of the gameweek. I have got 57 points for the gameweek. I am ranked around 1,500 for the gameweeks but my overall ranking has gone down to 27,000. Does this make any sense?

Of topic: I just watched S01E01 of the Wire. I have to say, i was expecting more. It was good but for 'the best show ever' i was expecting to be blown away. Breaking Bad, Prison Break(series1) and GOT were all better. Does it improve?

It gets much better...each series takes the view of a different segment of society. Next series its dock workers, then politicians, series 4 is set in the schools and the last in a newspaper office.

An interesting experiment to do would be to round up the top 3 most flukiest FPL players this year and see how they get on next year. Thus we can test how much of this is skill and how much is pure luck.

Open ControlsI think the most crucial factor is taking it seriously...if you don't then you view it casually...I don't know what got me hooked...maybe it was the rush of having a player score a hat-trick as your captain...but it gets addictive and your transfers start to feel like do or die decisions, which is great but then you might be busy doing other serious things and fantasy becomes less like that...but long live fantasy football! 😀

Open ControlsI only had one great start to a season, ironically it was before I found this site or really paid attention to fixtures, injuries, etc. After about 10 weeks I was 14th in the world (having gone on holiday and made no transfers for a week!) I think Amr Zaki was doing the business for me. Needless to say I slumped to a 20k finish after that.

Yep, I'm in a monthly poker game with friends and a couple of years ago we ran it as a league format so that each month's performance contributed towards your standing. I used to produce an analysis each month of the league in general and each individual player. It was remarkable how consistently 'lucky' some people were 😉
