Sunday Dugout Discussion

Filed under: Dugout Discussion - Posted by: Mark

The curtailed Gameweek 29 comes to its conclusion this afternoon, with two Premier League matches in the offing. Proceedings start at St James’ Park with a three o’clock date between Newcastle and Stoke. A match made in heaven? Hardly. Although many Fantasy managers will be hoping that Stoke’s defensive form continues, allowing Moussa Sissoko and friends to capitalise. That’s followed by the big highlight of the weekend, as two genuine top four contenders face off at Anfield. Luis Suarez and Gareth Bale do battle for the limelight, with Fantasy managers smacking their lips at the prospect of a belated Gameweek 29 payday.

The team news from St James’ Park sees Alan Pardew name an unchanged line-up from the side that lost to Swansea last weekend. Papiss Cisse shakes off the illness that forced him out of Thursday’s Europa League trip to Russia, though Hatem Ben Arfa misses out after picking up a leg problem in the midweek goalless draw. For Stoke, Tony Pulis makes just one alteration from last week’s home loss to West Ham – Geoff Cameron returns to the starting XI, with Michael Kightly dropping out.

Our Dugout Discussion Chatroom has disposed of the Mothers Day crowd and now welcomes the Fantasy football fraternity into its midst to capture the reaction as the Sunday points hopefully come tumbling in.

The season ticker needs to be tweaked to take into account dgw matches even if we don’t know when they will be played. Same as player projections i imagine. It can not be too hard to implement

      Mark says:

The projections include them – the ticker can’t, really. Where would they be placed? That really has to deal with confirmed fixtures I reckon.

      Billy Bonney says:

I have both and will be keeping both. However, a lot of that has to do with my Michu purchase price of 6.6. One other thing to consider is that Swansea have a blank GW33 that hasn’t been declared yet.

“I love to attack and I love to go up front...It is a little more difficult than when you are playing centre-back. If you play the way that I want to play, I think my influence is better as a left-back. For the team, it is best that I play as a centre-back. I like to bring the ball out. You need to move the game quickly, and that is one of my qualities as well.”
