Sunday Dugout Discussion

Filed under: Dugout Discussion - Posted by: Mark

Sunday serves up a quartet of matches, handing us over four hours of Premier League football to keep us sofa-bound and, hopefully, boosting our Gameweek tallies in the process.

We’re eased into the action at the Stadium of Light, where Sunderland host Norwich in a match with few Fantasy assets on show. Stephane Sessegnon and Steven Fletcher will feature for some, whist interest in the visitors seems likely to be limited to the Canaries back four and, perhaps, the set-piece threat of Robert Snodgrass.

Things accelerate from that point on, however, with Gareth Bale sizing up the Fylham defence at three o’clock, while Juan Mata and Moussa Sissoko are in action as Chelsea take on West Ham and Newcastle visit Wigan in the late afternoon kick-offs.

Our Dugout Discussion chatroom is open throughout the day for those seeking some real-time interaction while the matches play out.

The team news from today’s early game finds Martin O’Neill make one very welcome change from a Fantasy perspective, as Carlos Cuellar returns to the Black Cats’ lineup after an eight-game hiatus. Danny Rose and David Vaughan also earn starts, with Alfred N’Diaye and Jack Colback joining the dropped Titus Bramble on the bench. Chris Hughton also makes changes to the visitors lineup, with Anthony Pilkington ruled out through injury, Elliot Bennett is drafted in on the flank, meanwhile, Grant Holt drops to the bench to make way for West Hoolahan. It looks as though Kei Kamara will lead the attack in a 4-5-1 for Norwich.

RVP, Bale and Suarez, all failing this GW. Who’d have thought it.

I can see a Berbatov train gaining momentum soon and mentioned it last week… vs his former club and then a possible DGW coming.

If the Chelsea game goes ahead I think doubling up on their midfielders look like a good option now. Worked for periods before and all three of Hazard, Lampard and Mata look to have more points in them. Lampard especially is still priced so well, him and one of the other two should work well.

Bunn gone and mucked up next weeks team :

    Pick a Punchy replacement:
    a) Maloney
    b) Coleman (has dgwk comin)
    c) Townsend

    Pick a Bunn replacement:
    a) Fabianski (has a dgwk too but not sure if nailed on)
    b) Jussi (DGWK would need to get rid of studge (below))
    c) Elliot

Finally is Studge worth replacing with Kone or Berba?
