The Stock Check – Wednesday

A frustrating evening for Gareth Bale and Fantasy managers as Spurs and Chelsea play out a stalemate at the Bridge with the goals shared amongst unlikely differentials. Here’s the Stock Check from Wednesday’s Gameweek climax.

On the Up

Oscar
The young Brazilian was identified as our headline act in our Differentials article prior to the Gameweek deadline and duly delivered. Tonight’s tap in was his third goal in four games for Oscar, who has started five of the last six league outings. Owned by under 2% of Fantasy Premier League managers, we picked him this week out as a possible replacement for the injured Michu over the final two matches and, with tonight’s returns, many could now look in his direction.

Emmanuel Adebayor
The Togo striker put on a superb showing, earning goal and assist returns for the second time in his last four starts. Adebayor has endured a hugely disappointing season back in Spurs colours and has in no way justified his lofty FPL price tag. His end of season form is, however, looking strong and he could yet be considered as a potential differential for the final two fixtures by those with cash to spare up top.

Going Down

Eden Hazard
While Juan Mata kept ticking over and came out of the double Gameweek with an assist, his fellow playmaker was given just 72 minutes to earn returns for his investors and come up short. Hazard’s failure was compounded by Oscar’s profits and the Belgian’s owners will now have to hope for consecutive starts over the final two fixtures and a rapid turnaround in fortunes.

Jermain Defoe
Dropped to the bench after an ineffective display against Southampton, Adebayor’s performance will surely make a huge dent in Defoe’s prospects over the remaining fixtures and kill off any thoughts that the England striker could be an effective differential for the season climax.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Team linked. An easy decision has become very hard for me, advice please. Obviously a straight swap for Berbatov to Sturridge seems the simple solution, but with massive doubts over Tevezs game time, it's hard to know whether or not he should be the one sacrificed.

    A) Berba to Sturridge
    B) Tevez to Sturridge/Adebayor

That's actually a tough decision. I'd be inclined to ditch Berba since I feel the potential upside is bigger with Tevez. Fulham are completely out of it lately.

Hazard. The day I brought him in in GW32 marked the day I lost my grip on this season. Now I have compounded the problem by doing my transfers to get Wally in BEFORE last night's match. I knew the risks, but dreamed of Hazard and Mata side-by-side against a floundering Villa, and I wanted to have a certain amount of cash for a certain GW 38 transfer. So:

    A. Take a hit to replace Hazard?
    B. Keep and hope he plays?
    C. Keep and play Maloney?
    D. Other

(These options are in addition to the obvious course of ritual scourging with a cat 'o nine tails in penance for my rooky error)

Midfield area is awful i know, I've got no money though
Would love Walcott & Coutinho but can't afford unless I cost -8
I'm 2nd in my ML (3pts off top, weak league) so don't really want to cost points

Is there anything worthwhile to do or should I just sit back & wait for some divine inspiration? lol

I think 8th is just about in touch but needs to make a move next gw. Tough though as teams are pretty similar at the top, needs a great captain choice and for the obvious options to fail.

What should be my priority for sorting my team out this week?

    DDG
    davies / enrique / demel
    walcott / bale / fellaini / maloney
    rvp / tevez / kone

Bench: Cerny / Michu / Demel / Pearce
    Bank: 2.1m
    1FT

Feel I could bench Michu this week and get rid for GW38.

Concerns are DDG and RVP being rested, and davies has city away.

thanks for replies, had considered getting a michu replacement and benching one of maloney and kone.

cazorla does have wigan and newcastle neither of which has a great defence but are both scrapping in the relegation battle - I suppose arsenal fighting for fourth counteracts that...

    Morning Guys,

Currently looking like this for the GW:

    Hart
    Kompany - Martin - Dawson
    Mata - Hazard - Bale - Fellaini - Maloney
    Tevez - Ba

    McCarthy - Kone - Clyne - Scharner

    Questions:

    1. Hazard or Mata ----> Walcott?

    2. Should I play Maloney or Kone?

    3. Should I play Clyne or Dawson?

    Thanks.

I'm thinking of doubling up on Arsenal by going with Caz and replacing Michu with Walcott. Would Oscar be a better replacement? I just think Walcott will do better, not too bothered about doubling up.

Imagine Mata's played roughly 120 games or so now without a proper rest (no summer rest, he played both Olympics and EUROs last time out).

Now if he's this good without a rest, how good will he be next season..

    Bale Hazard Walcott Michu*
    RvP(c) Anichebe

    Bunn Kone Maloney Davies

Really want to get inside the top 2k this season! Any advice is appreciated. Not getting in any pool players until last gw.
Pretty much set on doing Michu -> Ben Arfa for this gw. Do you think that if Turner is not fit it would be worth a hit to bring in another mid to replace Maloney or would you play Kone?
