The Stock Check – Wednesday

A frustrating evening for Gareth Bale and Fantasy managers as Spurs and Chelsea play out a stalemate at the Bridge with the goals shared amongst unlikely differentials. Here’s the Stock Check from Wednesday’s Gameweek climax.

On the Up

Oscar
The young Brazilian was identified as our headline act in our Differentials article prior to the Gameweek deadline and duly delivered. Tonight’s tap in was his third goal in four games for Oscar, who has started five of the last six league outings. Owned by under 2% of Fantasy Premier League managers, we picked him this week out as a possible replacement for the injured Michu over the final two matches and, with tonight’s returns, many could now look in his direction.

Emmanuel Adebayor
The Togo striker put on a superb showing, earning goal and assist returns for the second time in his last four starts. Adebayor has endured a hugely disappointing season back in Spurs colours and has in no way justified his lofty FPL price tag. His end of season form is, however, looking strong and he could yet be considered as a potential differential for the final two fixtures by those with cash to spare up top.

Going Down

Eden Hazard
While Juan Mata kept ticking over and came out of the double Gameweek with an assist, his fellow playmaker was given just 72 minutes to earn returns for his investors and come up short. Hazard’s failure was compounded by Oscar’s profits and the Belgian’s owners will now have to hope for consecutive starts over the final two fixtures and a rapid turnaround in fortunes.

Jermain Defoe
Dropped to the bench after an ineffective display against Southampton, Adebayor’s performance will surely make a huge dent in Defoe’s prospects over the remaining fixtures and kill off any thoughts that the England striker could be an effective differential for the season climax.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Yeah, may get Carragher in for Clichy a Liv got two decent games to go and will mean I can do straight swap of Michu for Walcott.

Its a hit but looks like the best way to get Theo in without taking out Hazard.

    A) Michu ➡ Coutinho/Oscar

      a) dont like the oscar punt - rotation. best off going for a random differential

      b) sturridge could go either way now that liverpool have written off the season. No gerrard no agger no suarez. on a side note he should be on pens.

c)i think if chelsea had won today mata woulda been a dead cert to be dropped. 50/50 now.

    Wait a minute...

    bear with me here

Bemba Da disappeared around about 10/11pm last night...just as the Fergie rumours were beginning to circulate. And just as the news is becoming increasingly more and more believable...Bemba vanishes...no more grav, no more posts...

I can only reach one conclusion...well actually maybe two

Either Bemba Da is David Moyes...or Bemba Da is about to be unveiled as the new Man utd manager tomorrow morning.

I just doubled up, not convinced by anybody else, plus having both pretty much guarantees points if Arsenal score. When one does well, the other could too, especially with all to play for and perhaps the easiest fixtures left.

I've watched Arsenal's last 3 games, and they're clearly struggling to break teams down atm. When Cazorla's not on it there's a clear lack of creativity, which is slightly putting me off Walcott or Cazorla this week.

Do you think Arsenal will click into gear against Wigan's train wreck of a defence? Has there been any news on Alcaraz?

I’m in 2nd place in my mini-league 20 points behind rival. My front 8 is:

Michu (to Walcott), Yaya, Mata, Bale, Schneiderlin
    RVP, Tevez, Lukaku.

    His is:
    Mata, Bale, Coutinho, Fellaini, Nasri
    Tevez, Lukaku, Mirallas

In order to do Michu > Walcott I need to take a hit elsewhere (probably Yaya).
Who else to bring in? And for who? I need differentials from him obviously.Thinking of doing:

Yaya to... (has to be mid priced 6.8 or lower):
    A) Walters
    B) Giggs
    C) Larsson
    D) Snodgrass
    E) Rosicky
    F) Nolan,
    G) Maloney

Or maybe keep Yaya (and hope he plays) and do Mata > Lampard instead
    Or something else...

    Help me Obi Wan

So today as MUFC share price dropped and wiped $80million off, if they get in Ronaldo and if share price goes up because of it, its like getting a discount. So say getting him in inspires confidence and the organisation gains £40mill in value, means they can bid £40mill over odds and still be in the game. Thats the end of my armchair business insight.

What you wrote above could have meant either "I have seen the reports" or "Have you seen the reports?". It was not clear.

Now you see this time your use of the question mark at the end of the sentence tells me that it is a question and that you have missed out the "Have you" at the beginning.

Surely he would have said "I am staying" ?

    Hart (rdg)
Shaw (sun) Dawson (stk) Sagna (WIG)
Hazard (avl) Mata (avl) Walcott (WIG) Bale (stk)
Kone (ars) Defoe (stk) Tevez (rdg)

Subs: McCarthy (MCY) Scharner (ars) Chico (mnu) Michu (mnu - injured)

    A) Sturridge in for Defoe
    B) Fellaini in for Michu
    C) Sturridge & Fellaini for Defoe and Michu -4 pts hit
    D) Any other suggestions?

And captain Bale or Walcott? I think Bale's just so much more influential for Spurs than Walcott is for Arsenal, and 4 double figure scores in his last 5 starts is some pretty decent form despite his invisibility in the Chelsea game, and despite Walcott's better fixture.

    Cheers guys 🙂

Very sptrong MF, you have. I'm likely to do C before the next price rise/drop to have Liverpool and Everton for their good fixtures. Some suggested Coutinho instead of Afro though.

Walcott to play Wigan a few days after cup final. Either Wigan win or lose, we have cases to think Wigan could be tired from wild celebration or losing and got trashed by Arsenal. I'm leaning to Bale though.

Chelsea will play again on Saturday and again in cup final on next Wednesday. Rafa surely needs to ensure his strongest team for the final, so rafatation could be at full strength this weekend.

It's my guess. A bit doubt for why some people consider to double up Chelsea MFs.
